Is it just me or whenever you order to go, the food seems smaller in comparison when eating in the restaurant? Am i really paranoid or maybe those containers looks really big.

I've only ever see people eat directly from them on TV shows. Eating all your shit separately defeats the point, since most people rarely order just one thing, and nearly all the dishes come with rice, which balances the dish.

Most of the Chinese places lately don't even use them and instead opt for plastic containers for everything but the white rice, since those paper containers leak every if the packer makes a slight mistake or it tips over once.

I don't ever poison myself, so I don't need to detox.

Any ways to cook tofu? I find it a real success when I manage to cook tofu that I actually enjoy eating, since usually it's my go-to item at any asian place.

Because I'm a lazy college student I press the tofu for a while, then stick it in the oven to get it crispy, then stir fry vegetables and add the tofu and whatever sauce I want to use such as teriyaki or orange sauce (bite me). Then I'll usually eat this over rice and it'll be good and edible, but does anyone know awesome ways to make tofu?

Cocktail bar manager here. I'm trying to come up with some interesting non-alcoholic drinks for customers who are DDing, pregnant, recovering, or just don't want to drink. A lot of time, we wouldn't have half of our customers without DDs, so I want to give them something more exciting than a diet coke or whatever.

As of right now, we make horchata and a few rotating shrubs (watermelon basil, beet peppercorn, and peach mint are the current ones).

Any suggestions? Or favorite mocktail recipes? Or am I overthinking this?

Hey friends,
So my wife told me she did some shopping for me (which was nice) and that she got stuff to make BLT's.
Which is a bummer.

I know this is eminently searchable, but can you guys recommend any hot tips for making worthwhile BLT's? Taking any suggestions from prep to cooking tips to additional ingredients. Open to anything.

Knowing my wife, we have a loaf of whatever white bread, some Roma tomatoes, lettuce, and the best bacon that comes packaged. It's nearly as good as bacon from the meat counter--but not quite. I'm willing to change the bread or tomato or something, but don't want to up-end all of the stuff she already bought.

I didn't know home run inn made deep dish too, their regular crust is overrated, idk why it gets shilled so much, not bad though.

So I'm sure I'm going to earn some ire here for simply entering a Chipotle, but as a Midwesterner not particularly close to any major city, I'm kind of fucked. 80% of restaurants are chains. 20% are mom-and-pop coney islands that are almost never anything special. Even when we get chains like Chipotle and SmashBurger, we get them like five years after they make waves.

Anyway, my question is a double-header: Surely many of you share my predicament. What do you guys do? Do you just accept the reality that no restaurant within 45 minutes is basically balls and just cook every night? What do you do?

My real question is this: What the fuck are people doing ordering burrito bowls? Whenever I'm in a Chipotle or even Qdoba, 9/10 people have burrito bowls. What the fuck are they doing? Do they know something I don't?

Also, nobody seems to know you're supposed to peel the foil away as you eat it. I'm pretty sure even the people who wrap them aren't aware of this. People are either making a hot-wings-level mess or resorting to knife and fork dipshittery.

you get slightly more in the bowl than in a burrito proper cause the person making doesn't have to worry how am I going to wrap this tortilla. In most places you can then ask for a tortilla on the side and make your own burrito.

As for the foil, if you have any old style fillings and bite on foil you wouldn't want to risk that shit being anywhere near your mouth.
