Hi /biz/,
I'm at a crisis here. I'm inexperienced in office politics so was wondering if you guys can tell me what to prepare for.
My Timeline:
2 years in Marketing - had a decent role with lots of responsibilities.
6 months in Business Development - New department and job, but as the company couldn't sell our own brand products the department was dissolved and I was transferred to...
2 months OEM Business Development - I was transferred to support the main business development guy, and to utilise my language skills, but it's been confined to market research and my manager admits that he doesn't know what I should do after I finish the report I'm working on.
Will I be made redundant /biz/? :/// The salary is cushy and I can save around £1k a month, but I have very little work to do.
Should I pre-emptively go part time and build up my side business (photography). I turned over £6k last year doing photos in my spare time. But I'm scared to take the risk..

In any event, pre-emptively going part time sounds foolish. If you're risking loosing employment, put the effort in extra to start the side business, nights and weekends.

You should be looking for your next job. If you want to eventually switch over to doing photography full time do so without a gun to your head.
So what's up with the OFS (Orthodox Financial System)? The idea is to establish an international bank that doesn't charge any interest except to match inflation rates. The loans would be based on investment rather than usury, and the money garnered from that investment would be spread in further loans, allowing many workings to have Independent businesses. The idea behind it is a new financial system based on "social wealth" as opposed to "personal wealth"
Could it work?

That's pretty much how it worked before usury became legal.
So no, not as well as usury does. Because usury forces the loantaker to produce in order to be able to pay off the interest.
A no interest loan lacks that incentive and historically usually was only given to mighty people as a bribe in order for the moneylenders to be allowed to conduct actually profitable business. Medieval banks got their profits from helping people transfer money over large distances in return for a percentage of the money.

What do you think of Trend Bar Failure, and of Price Action in general?
I just do not get the validity of strategies based on the assumption that 'ppl r stupid xd', in the case of Trend Bar Failure the assumption that there are many stupid traders who get trapped in counter-trend trading.
Opinions?
I don't think these are trend bars, in the view of Al Brooks.
Anyway, even if traders are not trapped, it generally means the market expects the opposite. For example, bullish pattern is quickly erased, smart traders can expect to buy even lower.

The professional trading my friend cannot be in a 5 minutes chart, cmon. The problem isnt the chart, the problem its your timing.
I personally recomend 1 hour chart and wait for the validation of the level at least one touch on the same level then you can determinate the posible direction. I will show you some pictures of my trade maybe i can help you

Soon probably, I'm just too lazy to open a brokerage account on Robbin Hood atm.
Tell me why I shouldn't become a business analyst.
You shouldn't become a business analyst if you hate money.
You love sucking cocks and eating steaming piles of eating shit straight from the asshole of an unwashed Indian man?
Because unfortunately all of that goes away the second you become a BA.

As global wealth continues to increase overall, and poverty continues to decline, people will choose to work fewer hours and for fewer years. But seriously son, you best be fucking saving and investing like your future life depends on it.
>because it does

so whats your point?
are you aware of jobs to people or things like pricing over time compared to available resources

As title states, I am 18 and know very little about saving , investing, budgeting and just finance in general(idiotic parents who taught me literally nothing about things like this). I'm able to teach myself given a good resource or point in right way. What are some good books to read that'll give me a good general knowledge as well as allow me to properly manage my money as well as gain the most out of it?
I appreciate anything you guys can give me

personal finance is the same for everybody, earn more than you spend, plug the major holes, don't let emotions control your money.
Investment advice however is subject to much debate and often its subjective, satisfying a multivariate spectrum of needs and goals.

Enjoyed this book when I read it,
It is mostly about diversification and other tactics/ideas related to playing the markets. I believe that ideas taken from this book can be applied to other aspects in one's life.

>Coding experience and knowledge in VBA and Excel
I do have coding experience and I have a pretty good understanding of programming logic but I have almost 0 experience using VBA and excel. What kind of stuff do I need to learn how to do? Is there a website that can help with this?
>Strong knowledge on options is preferred
I have a basic understanding but I will definitely read up
>Interest/Experience in valuation and company analysis and strategy development (backtesting, idea generation) is preferred
I have interest in these things, but no experience. Where can I go to learn about company analysis and strategy development? What is 'backtesting' and 'idea generation'?
>Detail-oriented, ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

>Strong quantitative, analytical and communication skills

>Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player

If anyone could please help me I would be forever indebted to you and this board
Yes, you're definitely qualified to be a poorly paid intern who cold-calls ancient client lists trying to churn commissions. The fabulous world of "wealth management" is primarily about convincing grannies to sell their Coke stock to buy Pepsi stock so that your boss can generate trading fees. Enjoy.

I'm just starting my career in sales and I don't know anything about it. Are there any sales pros out there that give some tips?
Search "sales and bread" on google/in archives. Guy who makes the threads is super helpful and is a sucessful timeshare salesman.

salesmen are born not made
try to connect with the buyer- you're his friend.
you need to be likeable.
convince him that he's getting a good deal- this is a win win
negotating, you have to learn to read people, be smart, how bad do they need it? where else can they get it?
If you're the only show in town you can drag them over the coals while sounding sorry you have to charge so much
>>1026720
Hopefully you have a good sales boss, your sales boss should encourage you but also push you a little to do your best.
You gotta hit all the avenues, phones, doors, emails, flyers, presentations. You gotta give it 100%. Don't put too many hours in per day though. 6 hours of selling is a full day.
The most important thing I think is to make it fun, just have fun with the person socially, and don't worry about the sale. If you can get in that mindset you'll actually make more money.
Be very honest and real, don't have a fake smile and fake attittude, that shit does not work at all anymore.
Know know know your product, backwards and forwards.
> someone utters the words "gun control"
> your investments go up 900%

Sup /biz/feed, what can someone with computer programming skills do to constantly make money in his free time?
Something other than a 9-to-5 (enrolled in school). Anyone use any freelance services, or have any recommendations?

I used flexjobs to find something, you gotta pay per month. Took me 2 months then I cancelled.
Be forewarned a lot of them have lofty requirements so it may be a waste of time as a student, unless you are strong in a certain area.
All of these sites are super competetive and filled with eastern Europeans and Indians who know more than you and do it for pennies. I lost the link but /g/ gave me a github site that compiles all the work from home sites for programmers, so consider asking them. If you do web dev you may have more opportunities
