Are there still oil-rig jobs that pay shit ton of money for hard labour in U.S? I kinda need/want to do a heavy ass labour job. I have no experience, though.
Literally destroys your body bro, which in turn destroys your soul.
Hell no lol.
Youre welcome to try though. For land rigs the way to get a job is to go find a rig and walk out there and ask the tool pusher for a job. Seriously. That's how they filter out the pussies I guess.

Hell no, the price of oil dropped and everything is fucked
Hello /biz/ 18 y/o here. Looking for ways to secure a decent future... Have a shitty 8.5/hr wage working 8 hrs a day with 2k in hospital bills... How do I become rich if I can't afford college? Also what credit cards could I get with my current credit history? Preferably some with great rewards or cash back... All I have is one card that I've had for 1 year with 1% back on all purchases. Never paid a dime in Interest because it's paid in full each month.
>pic unrelated
>credit card at 18 without being in college
you're fucked
you're not going to get a good credit card without having good credit, which is already have at 18. keep paying your bills on time and it'll go up. you're going to need college to "become rich" unless you suck someone's cock, have a wealthy relative or are a genius
move back in with mom and pop before you're homeless
New to this board, why isn't there a faq?
>>1028736
Because we just love answering the same "how do I get rich?" question every day with a resounding "you can't, fuck you."
Hey /biz/, can you guys explain how the supply & demand curves would change based on the following situation:
The city buys a bunch of houses on your street to use them for subsidized housing (for homeless). Would supply and demand both shift left? Thanks.
Are you talking before or after everyone on the block puts their home up for sale?
I think so, not 100% sure though..
>>1028694
after the purchase has been made by the city with the intent to turn it into government housing
Forgive me for being a poorfag... My roommate and I are trying to get our apartment's electricity fixed, we havent been able to use our fridge, stove, water heater or regular heater for 2 months. Any donations are greatly appreciated!
gofundme/9ghv987g
If you've survived without electricity for two months, I'm confident you can live without it forever.
>>1028676
We have survived, but we've done just that. Our friends, while they won't say it, are tired of having us over to shower and of feeding us. It's also very cold at night because we have no heater.
>>1028681
Why can't your friends pay for your electricity to be fixed?
I fuckin knew it, Netflix is taking a trip to the moon now... I should've fucking invested man... :(
third world content is a shitshow though.
they won't get the same Netflix as us.
there won't be that many new subscriptions and they now have sunken costs in infrastructure that needs be regularly maintained. losses imminent. short Netflix for all they'll let you.
>>1028639
You serious bruh?
I called it in like 2010. I even told my dad to invest in it. Only reason I couldn't is because I had no money.
I wouldnt invest now. I think its less attractive because HBO and others are catching on to streaming. Now its essentially just another content provider. Its the best but its no longer really special like it used to be.
Hello everyone.
Lately, i have considered creating webpage and making money out of it. As a university student, i have some serious issues about financing the expenses and my only source is family. I need $300 extra income every month.
My first idea was making up a website like ororo.tv. For those who doesnt know, its a website adding english subtitles on movies, so makes it easy understandable for non-native english speakers. Also when you move your mouse over one word, you could see its translation on your own language ( mostly poor translation). I thought i could improve it, i could add my simplfied definition(which is more accurate than they add) for that word you moved your mouse over. In case you didnt understand the word, one click would lead you to other scene of some other movie, so you can grasp it deeper. I think i can upload 3 movies in a week and enrich my website in 3 months. But probably i would have some problems with copyright.
Now the idea im considering is making up a website, quote news from ny times and, like on the first idea, when you move your mouse over a word, simplfied definition of this word will appear. In case you didnt understand, you can also reach related images, videos, other news which mention that word.
this idea seems perfect for me, but i would like to hear your thoughts. What makes it perfect is that my wish to improve my english. So i can improve my english, besides, make some money.
Now my questions are;
Would i have copyright problems by ny times?
Can i make some money out of it?
Is it good idea to get some traffic on my website?
Help me reach my dreams guys, i need it.
>>1028556
I like your idea but it's incredibly ambitious. I don't think you grasp how much work that would be. And yes, copyright and revenue are a big problem.
By yourself I think it's way too much. If you had some friends to help you work on it, then maybe.
>>1028556
Go for it senpai. Noone from NY times is gonna bother suing you in your hole to get your life savings of $100.
>>1028632
I have some friends may help and girlfriend willing to help. But i dont want any cooperation on it because their give up is also would be mine. I no longer want to be a burden on my parents, i dont want to give up. Im hardworking guy though, i can accomplish i beleive.
what happened?
IPhone production is being cut by 30%.
>>1028536
iWatch flopped.
Zero hype for new products.
iPhone improvement is stagnant.
iPads are out of fashion.
Do you know what a "Chaza" is, Frank? It's a pig that don't fly straight.
>>1028536dp you even watch the news? CHINA had to hit up there trading because of 500 billion sell off. Apple utilizes china resources like nobodies business.
What the hell is happening with Crude and Brent?
>Crude and Brent
Brent is a regional (NW Europe) blend of crude and price marker
The other 'crude' you're thinking of is the other most popular price market, West Texas Intermediate.
>Lacklustre global economic growth and thus demand for commodities following periods of significant expansion in crude output
Price falls, fear of glut
>Tension between Iran & KSA
Crude rallies on the prospect of violence and supply disruptions in the gulf
>Expectations of violence diminish but clear that Iran & KSA (two key members of OPEC) will not come to a decision to reign in production levels
Price falls further

Thank you anon, god bless.
What the fuck is this shit? Are you responsible for this you little shits? I've just found out my wifes son has been stealing money from her purse to buy these "bitcoins". When I confronted him he called me a "nocoiner" told me to "cope" and then ran off. I looked at his internet browsing history and found this place.
I want you to know that I want you to take back all these bitcoins youi've sold to my wifes son and return his money I have written to chris poole asking him to backtrace all of your IP's
Is trolling even allowed here?

>My wife's son
I cuckled.
>I made it past the executive sign off with my dream company
>I received a verbal offer with details on salary, bonus, and benefits
>The hiring manager asked me when I can start
>Been waiting a week, getting close to my start date, and still no written offer
>already gave a verbal resignation to my current employer
>current employer is demanding that I submit letter of resignation
Has anyone ever heard situations where a verbal offer is rescinded? What do I do if I quit my job and they take back their offer?
Yeah it happens all the time.
Sounds like you're going to be out of a job.
>>1028514
sucks bro.
They may just have a lot going on right now.
Give them a call. Don't sound desperate, but I might tactfully tell them about your situation.
>>1028514
Can happen. Aggressively follow up with potential new employer to see if still on track and get a written offer. Leave in message that your excited about the opportunity to work there but growing concerned you have not heard anything and if there any concerns on thier end. You would like to know sooner than later.
WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON TO FITBIT.
YES THEY RODE A BIG HYPE TRAIN IN THE SUMMER AND DECIDED TO TAKE ON APPLE HEAD ON WHEN THEY SHOULD STICK TO LITTLE GADGET
BUT IT LOOKS LIKE A GOOD SPECULATION TRADE FOR THE FEB 1 Q4 NUMBERS BECAUSE OF FAT MIDWESTERNERS. IT FELL FAR BELOW VALUE ARTIFICIALLY SO GOOD PICK UP?
>>1028471
It's a bigger meme stock than Tesla.
>meme tech
jesus is /biz/ full of fucking idiots? or old people?
I'll give you another hint, don't invest in VR. biggest meme out there.
>>1028479
> don't invest in VR
yeah... I'm gonna go ahead and have to disagree with you there...yeahhhh.
I always thought fitbit was a little risky, first its a bit of a fitness meme, it hardly helps anyone trying to get fit or gives them any info that helps the fitness process. For people who work out, they know if they are doing what they are supposed to or not. Second, westerners give fuck all about being fit, especially Americans.
But VR ON THE OTHER HAND. Holy shit, this is gonna be big. Who doesn't want to view a game, picture, or video and be able to look in all directions. I'm hyped as fuck for the future of video games and I'm not even a big gamer. and VR porn? Holy shit dating as we know it might come to an end.
11 hands are white, and 2 are black. And if you notice the black hands have white hands over them.
>>1028431
Everything is racist now. The word has lost its meaning and nobody cares about being called racist anymore
Yes this is very racist.
There should be 11 black hands groping fertile white women and 2 white hands masturbating to it.
Why do stocks exist? How do they benefit the companies?
Money.
>>1028376
I'd guess so with pricey stocks, but what about them pennies? How much can they get out of it?
Stock represents an ownership interest in the company. Your car has a title. Your home has a deed. Your company has stock.
Stock doesn't benefit the company at all, other than serving as a convenient means of managing its ownership and providing ownership-based incentives and benefits to employees.
I have an interview scheduled tomorrow with Teletech. They say it is 60 minutes using phone and internet through Cisco Webex. I know they require Windows and I have a Windows computer, but usually I use a Mac. Can I complete the interview on a Mac or do I need to use Windows. Anyone ever worked for this company?
