BUT. My thing is this: Universities need to stop fucking offering degrees that have zero career potential. It would be like doctors offering sugar pills and saying they cure a disease. its fucking dishonest and theivery of the university system to be convincing young people to get degrees without a profitable future to them.

So while I do agree OP, I think the current USA university model needs drastic changes.

I don't spend my money retardedly like that.

It makes no sense not to just drop that $15k into an Index Fund so that it can earn you a reasonable amount just drive a cheaper car that gets you where you need to go anyways.

The difference between a $5k and $20k car in terms of practicality and use is nearly non-existent. If it's a reliable model, has a reasonable amount of miles on it and fulfills the requirements I have for transportation than there is no point of spending more.

Trying to "impress gurls and other people" is a race you cannot win with a $20k car. You will need much more money and it's not even desirable to achieve that.

If it's because you like the culture surrounding finance and law then you are only going to be satisfied doing that. Doctors/nurses (other than psychiatrists) make money from helping people, lawyers and bankers make so much more money by often exploiting other people.

I went into cloud-based technology out of undergrad some time ago.

I did it because I figured when shit is bad, software automation makes a good replacement for human labor. When shit is good, we can amplify human effort with software automation.

IT investment generally holds strong during recession because companies need to maintain operational efficiency.

I have friends who went into pharmacy and electronic engineering and they're both kind of stagnant. I'm in the Denver area making $110k and interviewing for a job ~$130k tomorrow. Salaries keep going up.
