sanders is slightly less retarded than trump so sanders
>>
america likes drama so it might be more profitable to get trump in there. sanders is proposing to tax everyone which isn't very nice, but giving the government a lot more power means a lot more opportunity to exploit it.

Studies repeatedly show that over 90% investors fail to beat the market average.

Don't remember the source, but that one computer program that randomly selected stocks versus real investors who carefully chose stocks.

They came out more or less equal.

G'day

I would like to know how anonymous receiving a payment via Paypal really is.

The deal:
I created a business account and I'm about to receive my first payment using PP. Will my customer be able to see my personal account number and name?

(Of course he will be able to figure out who I am because my business is registered, but still I'd rather have it a bit more private)

Word on the internet is the customer need an email address, and then he/she will only see the information about the company. That true?

Call pp and ask.

Fuck.

Is going to work for a start up a bad idea? I have a steady boring job in an established corporation and it feels like doing time.
8 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Yes, most start ups are a mess just like large companies, but with limited opportunity to get promoted/establish a career path.
>>
>>1101215
Depends on the startup. You need to keep a couple things in mind. First, understand that the goal of most startups is to be bought out within the first 5 years so make sure to have a leveraged position in the company with stock options in this eventuality. Second, treat this like a company would treat M&A. Make sure to do enough due diligence and take a fine tooth comb to their financials and earnings reports. This way you will be able to tell the viability of their business model and if there are any deficiencies this will give you a clear picture of how you can provide value if you sign on. If they won't let you see their financials then agree to sign a NDA and if they still don't let you then this isn't a company you want to work for. Hope this helps.
>>
take an interview and meet the people. if you like the team better then try it out i don't see the problem.

if the place you're at now is actually established you could easily do side projects or have your own team though. the only benefits to a startup beyond "potential" are flexibility and having a real voice in the company. but most startups will give you none of those unless you're the type of guy who could have founded your own startup.

Do you guys remember the Jewish pack I proposed about Bitcoin in late 2015? Namely that we would all hold our coins -at least- until the block halving occurred? Let me guess, most of you bought your coins during the high 400s and the moment it crashed to the high 300s you sold all your coins? And don't bullshit me, I know most of you faggots did this and I want you all to take a long hard look at yourselves. Look in the mirror and see yourselves for what you are: a pack of scared, clueless investors, flocking to the next technology you don't understand to try get rich. And so when everyone here started hyping Ethereum what did you do? Why, you bought at the high -- the worst possible time to buy. So not only are you all a bunch of clueless faggots that will miss out on profiting from Bitcoin, but you bought over-hyped Ether at the worst possible time.

Don't get me wrong - Ether is still a highly innovative blockchain - I would know as I did a lot of early work on smart contracts in the Bitcoin-space and I can tell you first hand how hard it is to build complex contracts. The problem is: essentially all of the contracts you can do with Ether - can also be done with Bitcoin-style Script. All you need is some fancy mathematics, game theory, and sometimes reputation overlays on top of that (perhaps an additional consensus system) - and guess what - you can add turning-complete scripting engines to Bitcoin with even more flexibility than Ether. My point in posting this isn't to try discourage you from buying Ether - it's more to point out how little you faggots know about what you're buying.

So what lessons can biz learn from this:
1. If you're going to invest in tech at least learn how to code and how the technologies you're buying work.
2. Learn to control your emotions. Don't run screaming like a scared faggot when the market is being irrational - create a plan and stick to it.
3. Don't follow the crowd because the crowd has no fucking clue what they're doing.

Fuck you man bitcoin is going down the shitter.

>2. Learn to control your emotions. Don't run screaming like a scared faggot when the market is being irrational - create a plan and stick to it.

This applies to any investments. You should be buying when prices fall, not selling yet everyone dumps when shit falls like a bunch of retards. Then a year later they whine when it goes back up. You're preaching to the deaf OP, these faggots will never learn.

What does /biz/ think? Is this a good idea for a businnes or is it just a meme?

I'm thinking of entering this market, producing food through hidroponics in a highly controlable environment for the plants (air, light, nourishment, etc) in order to increase efficiency. (aka Plant Factory). Do you think it's worth it?

Just grow dope
>>
Some colleagues and I started the initial phases of drawing up a business plan for this stuff. One of them wants to base it off of DUDEWEED but im skeptical. He says because of US decriminalization, you can grow a lot of it, brand it, and sell it to dispensaries as your brand name weed.

Basically the most important part of your weed is brand name consistency. Like the Mcdonalds of weed. You buy some, you expect the same shit you could buy in New York, or Texas or Montana
>>
I am not interested in producting only one product like weed. what i'd like to do is to be able to compete against normal farming, creating more and better product for a cheaper price. The yields per area are at least 100x better than traditional farming. The problem is the very high initial investment and production costs.

How does one cope with student loan debt after college? Is it really difficult?
I am going to be paying about 22k/yr for my university.
My university's average starting salary is $46,000.
Worst case scenario.. I don't get any scholarships or grants during college. Is the debt following graduation really going to handicap me financially? How long does it usually take to pay it off?

You will be a slave to that debt and corporate america. Good luck.
>>
>>1099076
Thank you so much. You're so smart and aware and that's exactly the answer I was looking for.
>>
>>1099072
What are you majoring in?

Let's suppose you have 88k of debt (I seriously hope you're not stupid enough to do the 5 year undergrad meme)

Let's also suppose that you get an average salaried job and live in a moderate sized town in the midwest where the cost of living is around 1500 per month. Your take home is going to be around 2800 per month assuming no additional deductions.

In principle, you can put around 16K per year towards paying down student loan debt. Assuming no pay raises but likewise, you don't get a gf, get married, have kids, try to buy a house etc... you will be free of student loan debt in 5.5 years. But then again, I forgot about interest hopefully your salary rises faster than your debt interest, lol, so figure on having student loans for the better part of your 20's.

If I were you, I'd mitigate as follows
1) Work a job while in college and take the minimum amount possible on loan
2) Choose a field with better income/employability prospects chemical engineering, computer science/engineering, accounting, etc...
3) Don't get married young (you shouldn't be doing this anyway.)

general manager, of, like, a baseball team?

how do you decide when to buy and/or sell stocks? do you look into reports regarding that company's ventures, acquisitions, marketing scheme, and so forth, to decide how people are going to react? like if people are going to drop the fuck out of one stock, are you going to buy them because they're lowered and will rise after the next quarter? or is this just superficial nonsense? what do you need to analyze?

i don't want to be the guy that spends two dollars to buy one.

Here's my story:

Been accepted to a top 5 (globally) university for a MSc in math. BUT, I have great job prospects right now. (130k USD starting, room for advancement, etc.) The job will not be there after my master's, and I'll be two years behind, I will have lost money, my soul will be crushed by academia. What do I do? Does having a MSc from such a 'big name' school really help me out in the long run? Or do I take the job? I worked my ass off in my undergrad to get relevant work experience in the hopes of not having to do a master's.
