Ok biz/

Margin Loan Thread.
Specifically, can you please redpill me on Margin Loans?

How do you use them? Is there any difference between institutions that offer them? Have you ever used them successfully?

Currently:
>$30,000 stocks
>LVR would be ~60%
>$0 borrowed

What part don't you get?
1) You pay a percentage rate based on how much you borrow, overnight, not intraday.
2) I'm sure there's some difference between institutions, but not much because of competition.
3) I've been using them constantly for years, probably paying around $3K - 5K a year.

Which one is better for dropshipping?

I've just started dropshipping with Shopify.

All my life I've developed my own websites, I'm highly technical, have a degree in computer science and would NEVER have thought I'd pay $40 AUD a month for shopify...

But after the 14 day free trial I was sold.
Shopify + Oberlo = more than its money worth in saved time

Thanks.

I'm also a web developer so I was leaning towards WooCommerce.

Quick question though: what if want to have several stores with different domain names. Do I need to pay for a subscription for each one?

You got questions? I got answers.

remember:

>roads will be your number one expense during harvest, and the number one rule for maintaining roads is to keep water off it.

>a well-managed stand will produce a much higher rate of return than a stand simply left to grow. Don't let your assets compete with each other. Thin it out.

>manage for high-value logs.

>Just because you can harvest doesn't mean you should. A young, vigorously growing tree can produce as much as a 20% rate of return.

>the final profit after harvest is a funcion of many things, but don't forget about proximity to the mill. A lot hat is far away from the mill will have higher transport costs.

>In states with strict property rights, hunting leases can make you extra revenue.

>Take advantage of current use tax subsidies.

Northwest Louisiana and East Texas are prime areas for scoping investment-grade timber lands.
Here's a directory of for-sale timber real estate in LA: http://www.landwatch.com/Louisiana_timberland_for_sale
>>
>>1728897
Neat. Why isn't poplar on the list? I thought that was a very fast growing economical tree to farm?

Does most demand for timber come from construction? Is it better to just sit and wait if there is a stagnant construction trend?
>>
>>1728907
It is listed as Aspen, which covers any tree from the genus populus. The great thing about aspen and poplar is that it will regenerate from roots when you cut it, and growing stock coming from the roots will grow twice as fast as a tree growing from seed, so this is where clearcutting can be a good tool.

>Does most demand for timber come from construction? Is it better to just sit and wait if there is a stagnant construction trend?

That depends. demand for aspen and softwood comes almost exclusively from construction, but demand for hardwoods comes from every thing from construction, furniture manufacturers, gun manufacturers, energy production, etc. It really depends on your local market.

Overall, yes, wood prices will be a lot better during the height of a business cycle. If you look at publicly traded forestry companies, they offer really great dividends, but they are unstable dividends. whenever construction acivity takes a dip, the dividends are usually suspended. That said, rules about timing the market still apply--it can be difficult.

Would it be acceptable to wear a bolo tie to a job interview or actual suit and tie type of job or will I just look like an idiot?

I was going to approach /fa/ with this question but I would rather have a /biz/ perspective since I am assuming you guys are more experienced with business formal etiquette and fashion.

I live in Canada so they are not a common sight here. My issue with normal ties is that they are not super comfortable and I always feel extra hot when its not loosened a lot.

but is it still passable. im interested because they are easy to care for and they dont prevent heat from escaping around the collar.

might explain why they are more popular in the warmer states.

It's not even difficult ffs.

You shouldn't have a problem in London, unless you didn't land any work placements, or internships as our American counterparts call them.
If you don't have any luck with job applications, then I'd start to think about starting your own firm now. It'd be much cooler than just working for another firm too.

Im currently having some trouble at my workplace.I have worked there for 1 and a half years. I have sued them. Been to court. Won the court. They owe me 25-30k USD. They should have paid me a month ago.

I have suspicions that they are going to bankrupt themselves. And just dont have to pay me at all. Then they will start up the same business, the same place, with just another firm.

Now, i live in a country in Scandinavia. Im 20 years old. And I have basicly no money.

Whats the best way to either, give them a really bad reputation? Or make them pay in some way.

Please ask me questions cause i know there is very little info, and please excuse my english. I appreciate your answers

Report them to some oversight bureau/IRS of Scandinavia. They will care about this kind of stuff. Plus if they are actually dodging taxes they could be stopped in their tracks and the courts might be able to collect the money for you.

Do so anonymously ofc
>>
>>1728544
Thanks for replying. Im really struggling to find a sollution.

I dont think they dodging taxes. But if they were, the state will then take all the money they should have, and i only get whats left. which could be nothing.

But i could try and explain this as best as I possibly can in what way i think its going down.

So the the ones owning this corporation that i work in, is three people. and another corporation. Lets call that the mothercorp. The mothercorp. the three people also own. So basicly they own a corporation(the mothercorp), that owns another one. and thats the one i am working at.

And the thing there is, that they are paying the mothercorp. for i dont know what. But if they stopped paying them. The mothercorp could technicly bankrupt them. And the place i work at is gone. And i get nothing..

Then they will start another corporation, or get an existing one that they own. and start up that same store/business fresh. And just hire the same people that worked there before except for me.

Own my own home £400k, about £250k portfolio and £60k salary.
At present the portfolio is split roughly 30% precious metals, 30% global bonds, 30% equities and 10% cash.
