Who is "he"?
Since you only posted 4 definitions, you can verify the veracity with a dictionary or encyclopedia yourself.
There's no debate here.

Complete nonsense thread.

Right? For stating the obvious?

What the hell is point of this. It's like accounting 101

If you have to
1) have that spelled out for you
and then
2) ask other people whether it's correct

You are really really REALLY dumb desu. Not even in a finance way, but in a "I can't even grasp the most basic elementary school math" way.

Aside from credit rating, is there any benefit to getting a credit card when I don't need one? I could make use of Airpoints but is getting a rewards card worth the cost?

Btw I'm an Ausfag using Westpac.

At least for me Debit and debit/credit combo costs the same, only using credit card costs. And generally I put travel expenses via credit due to automatic insurance (on flight cancellation or whatever) on getting my money back. I even get free travel insurance if I use credit card to pay for 80% of my travel costs.

Though then again, this is bank specific.
>>
There are many credit cards that give cash back with no annual fees.

And credit cards generally have better fraud protection.
>>
>>1731546
that would be nice indeed i have yet to find one in the local offers tho.
there is one i'm looking into that claims the annual fee is redeemable by purchase. which would make it practically zero if i use the card.

Tax seasons coming. How can you avoid the ~700$ assraping obama is giving to those who opted out of insurance?

Option A: Have insurance

Option B: Don't file taxes
>>
>>1731470
I bet you have insurance on your phone and don't have healthcare. I wish lack of insurance killed people faster. It's so fucking dumb that you are willing to risk your life to save money.

Although, if you're bitching about $700/yr then you don't belong on /biz/
>>
>>1731495

Risk is what made America.

But seeing this isn't the 50s anymore. If we as a society are going to get raped on taxes anyways, universal health should be a thing. B-but I only pay 25% in ma taxes.

> car tax
> car registration
> car insurance
> car maintenance
> car purchasing
> food tax
> utilities
> phone
> "deductibles"

All these things are taxed. Everything you come in contact with is litterly taxed and taxed again.

You buy a candy bar. Ingredients are taxed, plastic is taxed, the people working to make that candy bar are taxed, the companies profits are taxed, the market selling to you is taxed, and the gas you used to drive was taxed. I'm sorry, the only people that seem to be winning here is the tax man.

Fucking taxes everywhere and can't get universal health care? On top of that my damn pay stub doesn't even tell me where it's going. At least eurofags have a percentage of which is going where.

As of 4 hours ago user data of 20,000,000+ people has been stolen. It wasn't a virus or some phishing scam. Multiple backup servers were stolen after being left alone and unguarded in the soon to be future HQ.
The story will run tomorrow. The only reason I know is because my dad is a retired Santa Clara County officer and listens to his shortwave scanner at night.
If you have stock dump it now.

I need to make at least $750 a month to maintain my current residence. I donate plasma twice a week every week. I'm willing to work like a dog 40-50+ hours to make it happen. In fact, if me and my roomate were able to get jobs, minimum wage would do us just fine to avoid eviction and/or power loss. The only issue is that we can't get fucking hired.

I have a resume with two years experience working at a restaurant with references and being an online community manager for an LLC. But I can't even get responses on applications for Wal-Mart or McDonalds, even when I introduce myself to managers after putting them in. By some stroke of luck I landed an interview at Geico but whiffed the call center roleplay bit and now I can't try again for six months.

All I need to do is wagecuck long enough to keep our heads above water and save money. We've already cut out fast food and other bullshit. The only good advice I've seen is to check the newspaper for wanted ads - but beyond that, what else can we do in a situation with this much urgency, /biz/?
i want to run a delivery snack/soda service since i live close to a college town. but i just gotta save that money to afford basics first.
>>

Shit industry.
You have 3 options to make bank:

1 - leadership
Become the leader of others. Make tons of money in management leading dumb as fuck, belligerent, uncommitted, lazy and ethnically diverse teams. Success comes from being able to make them like you. Failure comes from having contemp for these degenerate scum.

2 - Service
Serve in a TOP establishment. Serve the mega rich as a waiter/bartender/concierge. Learn to embrace your inner bitch as you learn to smile at cunts who would smile at you if they run you over in their merc. Success comes from learning what true service is and gaining huge tips. Failure comes from not enjoying staying up late and getting up early or developing a hatred of the surprisingly rich bogens you will serve.

3 - Middle Management
Kinda the midpoint between the two above. Operating in Sales/Marketing/Finance/HR you serve the leadership whilst providing for the server. Success comes from being pleasant office company. Failure comes from not being able to network well enough to gain or maintain a position in the industry.

Overall hospitality advice?
- Kill self if this is the only industry you know how to earn a wage from
- Become a good server, graduate to Middle manager and then finally enter leadership.
- if you ever hit one of the reasons for failure, quit. ASAP.

What are some interesting jobs in tech? I'm studying computer science but I don't want to be a code monkey. I'd rather not work in a homogenous "IT environment" but rather use my expertise working with a diverse set of people. Something different, but challenging.

Any advice on what to study and learn?

Skip the bullshit programming classes.

Take CS theory, datascience, machine learning and math (probability, numerical linear algebra, optimization)

Given the option of taking an app development course and electromagnetism, you should pick electromagnetism.

Languages and frameworks are constantly changing. If you study the fundamentals, you will always be in demand.

About to start investing in Vanguard.

Should I buy VFINX or VTSMX?

There's a lot of conflicting information about which one is better overall, but most say they're essentially the same.

Gonna start with the 3k and then add 2k in every month for the rest of the year.

Also, the REIT fund really interests me. Is it worth deviating into other funds, such as small cap, international, and the REIT, or should I just go all in on the S&P 500?

Decide how you want your basket of funds to be made up: what exposures you want, what risks you want.

Do you want to be exposed to a global market? Vanguard's Developed World Equity Fund is a good place to go.

Want to possibly capture the increased return of developing nations but with more risk? Vanguard's Emerging Markets Fund is good.

Want to capture greater returns and risk from smaller companies? Vanguard's Small-cap Equity Fund is good.

Want the diversification of government bonds and corporate bonds? A Vanguard Treasury Fund or Corporate Bond fund (long or short term bonds?) would be appropriate.

Decide how you want your portfolio made up: mine is 70% shares and 30% funds, and of the funds my main one is the developed world equity fund, followed by small-cap and emerging markets.
