Why are western developers notorious for funneling money?
Pic related
Elabor8.
At least back then they spent most of the budget into actual game development, these days it all goes to marketing.
Boob tattoo was revolutionary.
Would you take a perfect condition sega CD for free if you were required to play the Marky Mark video game once daily?

We need a Capcom arcade classics compilation in Steam ASAP. Games such as:
Final Fight
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs
Captain Commando
Knights of the Round
The Punisher
Alien vs Predator
Xmen vs Street fighter
3 Wonders
Marvel Super Heroes
So far just Dungeons and Dragons is released in Steam. I dont want to use emulators for my whole life. I want a serious legal compilation with achievements and so on -__-
Seriously Capcom, WTF? Look at Sega and their Classic Hub. This is easy cash...

>Xmen vs Street fighter
>Marvel Super Heroes
I can see those not making due to expired copyright fuckery.
Of those, only final fight is any good

What is the best pinball game for PC ever released?

>What is the best pinball game for PC ever released?
Pro pinball trilogy inc timeshock ultra, it's not even a contest if you're looking for realism.
SlamTilt. The rules aren't quite as complex as the Pro Pinball games, but the sound design is much better. Everything feels a lot more urgent and energetic, like real pinball should, and the four tables are excellent late 90s WMS-like games.
Most of the other 21st Century Entertainment pinball games are great too, especially Pinball Fantasies and Pinball Illusions.

you'd take preferred sound over superior life like physics? really?
Why is Star Fox held in high regard when Rogue Squadron (and its sequel) was superior
Rail shootan'.
>>3952972
Starfox is more fun
Both games are held in high regard.
SF64 has a more arcade feel to it, and it has more crazy shit (charged shots, barrel roll, faster controls in general).
RS is less arcade and more sim, slightly.
Check it. Only one.
sonic
Genesis does.
Every Amiga game uses only 1 button.

I prefer MvC1 to 2.

Yah the 6 buttons set up are a lot better.
Best way to play Castlevania Rondo? Or whatever you choose to call it. What is the preferred experience?
>>3952094
To clarify I know there are different console versions and remakes.

In the 90s, as a Japanese school kid, on the PCE CD you've bought with your allowance money.
Does anyone know how to emulate crt effects on epsxe? Some time ago a guy on Neogaf put a shader converted from bsnes to play it on epsxe and it was fantastic, but I removed it accidentaly :(
No, mainly because you'd need to be an absolute moron to think using ePSXe was still a good idea in Year of Our Dark Lord 40,000.
CRT filters are the bane of emulation.
Is there a better PS1 emulator than epsxe which can run also CRT shaders?
Did console games have fixed logic/render updates per second?
>>3951401
I'm afraid consoles were too underpowered for that.
>>3951401
NTSC standard requires a 30 FPS signal (240p overlaps fields to give you an effective 60FPS).
That doesn't mean that the image is actually being updated 60 times per second. It's no different than your modern monitor - your 60hz LCD is refreshing 60 times a second even if your GPU can only render 5 FPS.
Don't know what you mean by "logic updates per second". They're just normal CPUs running at a certain clock rate so yes, there's a set number of cycles per second. Your logic isn't required to fit into a single frame or anything, you're free to take multiple frames to process logic, but the game will obviously dropping frames in such a case.
>>3951401
You mean logic tied to framerate? Probably yes, as any slowdown usually resulted in the entire game becoming slow motion. The japs are not very good at programming as recent attempts at making PC games have shown, I doubt they were any better back in the day.
Has anyone ripped this yet? The cartridge is apparently pretty poorly made, using flash chips instead of actual ROM, which makes it pretty volatile.
At this rate it's gonna die.
No and nobody can be arsed enough to do it.
>>3951139
Nothing of value will be lost.
Fuck, this game gets hard in chapter 4. Can any one clear it in 1 go?
Also, is there a translated version of the Jap one?
Hahaha, holy shit, i would NEVER think i'd see a thread about this game here in 4chan.
It's pretty hard trial-and-error OP, i suggest you save time and watch a playthrough on youtube to understand the patterns of the bosses, otherwise get ready to waste a lot of time or use save-states.
>>3950481
>Hahaha, holy shit, i would NEVER think i'd see a thread about this game here in 4chan.
I don't see why not. Fist of the North Star is pretty beloved on multiple boards here so someone is bound to try it out of curiosity.
>>3950493
>I don't see why not
You gotta be blind then, Fist of the North Star, as in the animation, is beloved on multiple boards, but this is a very old and shitty game that wasn't even ported as "Fist of the North Star", if i remember correctly it was called "Last Battle" here.
And i've been here for a really long time, this is the first time i see someone mention the game.
Having said that, i played the fuck out of this game as a child and could barely get to the 3rd boss. Pretty hard game, in my opinion, it's a waste of time to not simply watch a playthrough or use save states to learn the patterns of the bosses because all in all, it's just a shitty, old game. But that could be just me who became jaded and doesn't feel like wasting too much time on anything anymore.
Finally started playing this. I grew up with SNES in the 90's, but never saw the appeal of Metroid at the time. But I've been seeing a lot of people say it's the best game on SNES, so I added it to my backlog. It's actually great and I'm glad I kept an open mind. Just got my third missile expansion after getting morphball bombs
Don't feel bad. My first Metroid game was Prime in 2003. I have yet to play SM myself, though I have beaten the original in both NES and ZM versions.
I'm quite looking forward to it.
>>3950178
Good deal holmes, it's legit amazing. I played it for the first time last year, about halfway through Maridia is when i realized how perfect it was and started dreading it being over
Check out AM2R. So far, it's my favorite of the 4 main series games.
What's the best place to find full bin/cue images of old DOS or Win95 games? I'm sick of dealing with GOG's butchered rips.
It used to be a private tracker called underground-gamer, it got shut down but there's a pretty decent successor to it that you can get into if you look around
Otherwise, try http://www.oldgamesfinder.com/

Most DOS games never came on CD but check out the ExoDOS archive. What Windows 95 games in particular are you after?
