I don't suppose you could provide an example of anyone ever making this argument?

I primarily play on PC and they're not wrong. Developers have a good idea of how the final product will come out and they design around it based on the hardware. I always try to emulate for accuracy above all else.

I don't see the relation of this post and specifically Nintendo fans.
