I get a weird bug when the screen will have a closeup of what's happen on the screen balooned up or some other glithc that'll take up the entire screen. This happens in the blink of an eye butoccurs often enough to be a eye sore.

SO5 is an okay game, it's just terribly unfinished. The time it ends would be like 1/3 through when the story finally starts picking up in any of the other games. It's easily the weakest Star Ocean overall.
SO2 and 3 are widely regarded as the best ones. You can emulate SO2 pretty easily no matter what your PC is like, SO3 is a PS2 game so that might be more finnicky, both are amazing games though.
SO4 is a love/hate thing, a lot of people absolutely hate the game, others (mainly the ones that didn't play the previous games) seem to like it. I thought it was okay overall, but the abysmal characters, boring story, and streamlined gameplay hurt it quite a bit in my opinion.

Nigga... 4 was my first game which I loved, but I went back to emulate 3 and it was just absolute trash compared to 4 for me. Maybe it's one of those things you were supposed to play right when it came out. Also I wish I got to play the ps3 version for the sub and artwork, but I don't think it's worth it if you don't have a 360 like I did.

I still don't understand how they managed to fuck up the combat system when all they had to do was copy it and maybe tweak the bonus bar a bit. Instead they removed almost all choice and made the game borderline play itself.

3 was my first which may be why I like it best. Mostly like the characters and gameplay better.

I thought 4 did a better job with space travel though. You actually get to spend time on a number of different planets and locations instead of spending 90% of your time on Elicoor II.

Main thing that annoyed me with 4 was the way characters reacted to things. Like when Edge was the only one who seemed to understand how horrible a catastrophe destroying alternate Earth was. But then Edge spent too long getting over it, and his brooding got a bit tiresome. Or when Faize becomes a crybaby edgelord faggot.

Also, I hate 4's Welch. And her annoying music.

Bacchus is a great character though.

But it's really not. People keep parrotting this when it's not true. The game's story might be on a smaller scale compared to many others, but it very clearly builds up to a climax, the games aren't about planet hopping for the hell of it. They knew they didn't have much budget but they worked neatly with what they had. Also the story is fine and the game doesn't fall apart at the end for once.
