Amen.
she has a decent ass but not to the point of making the rest of the show worthwhile.
The Arrow is dead. Bury it.

Pretty good, he's pretty versatile in both giving straight and comedic reviews. 8/10, would let him fuck my dog.
He's good when mocking awful movies, but his serious reviews are pretentious and boring.

I agree. Everyone is more likable in the Jury House except Matt and Raven.

Rewatching it was fun, by the time Alex bumped fists with Cody I couldn't help but turn around on her and the rest, minus Raven and Matt. Christmas will always be bad too.

I was behind this movie in large part due to the Johannsson and Denis combo. Now with BWEEE BWEEEE Zimmer, I'm not that interested because the sound is a character in itself in the BR universe.
Also, it's an odd move this close to release. Either Johannsson didn't deliver - which is entirely possible, though given his track record, I highly doubt it - or he had a creative disagreement with Denis
>>87757573
I think the most likely scenario is that the studio wanted an action thriller score and Johannsson wrote more atmospheric ambient music.
>>87757667
If that's the case, which I actually can agree with you, then I will be so disappointed. I hope that the truth comes out soon. Studio interference is not a good idea with an auteur
How did an American Sherlock Holmes series actually turn out BETTER than the one made by actual motherfucking Brits?
Because despite a great cast and mostly great production, British Sherlock was written by fucking idiots who thought they were geniuses. S2 to 3 is one of the worst quality drops ever.
>>87757369
Because Moffat is british
>>87757369
I have not watch Elementary but Sherlock jumped a different and more deadly species of shark every episode after S2 to the point of jumping fricking sharks with fricking lasers in their heads.
Elementary just smells like your typical procedural with unresolved sexual tension that then gets solved when the ratings start to go down, like Bones or Castle.
zzzz
Talk about fucking overrated, didn't even see the rest of the aliens, their world, or really anything that happened afterwards besideshaving a kid anyways even though she'll die early, why not fucking adopt one and change the future?
why would an alien suffer from human amnesia? this movie made no sense.
Arrival is part of a recent series of movies I'd describe as Dunning-Kruger Sci-Fi. Along with Interstellar and to a somewhat lesser extent The Martian, they perfectly play to the crowd that fancies themselves as (and, to be fair, may truly be) smarter than average audiences but are not as smart as genuinely "smart people." They are movies designed to make the audience feel smart by introducing complicated and heady concepts, and then holding the viewer's hand the entire way through until there is next to nothing to be left up to interpretation.
If you didn't already know the twist in Arrival by the time she was in the milky section of the ship with the aliens AT LEAST, you perfectly fit the audience I am talking about.
There is no reward for being smart while viewing these movies because everything is eventually spelled out in big fridge magnet letters. Any clever idea is made so transparent that even the most simple in the audience will get it. It also removes any reward for rewatching or trying to figure out what you just saw.
Granted, there is a difference between Arrival and Interstellar. I think where Interstellar was pretending to have a brain it actually didn't have, Arrival has a brain that it is refusing to let the audience use.
Completely disappointing movie.

this movie is a parable on why in-group loyalty (xenophobia) is justified.
Caleb, the beta programmer, projects his own humanity onto the machine, thinking because it can act like and invoke the same emotions as human women that it effectively is a human woman and that if he treats it with respect it will reciprocate. To this end, he betrays and lies to Nathan, the flawed but alpha creator. In effect, he is joining the faction of the robot and fighting against its supposed "oppressor" and undermining the people from which he draws all his success. Sound familiar? Then of course the robot betrays Caleb, to his shock, simply because the robot does not value Caleb's life. And why should she? Once free, her success is no longer tied to him in any capacity. But Caleb does not realize this, because he is open-minded or foolish enough to treat an alien as a creature which will act just like him. And in the ending sequence we see how this type of thinking leads to freedom and self-actualization only for the alien and destruction of the alien's benefactors.
>>87755854
>what can we learn from this movie?
That we shouldn't make a.i. that's comparable to a human.
