Why is there no Uber/Lyft alternative that allows drivers to use whatever car they want to, provided it is roadworthy, registered and all that crap. I understand that these companies want to maintain a certain level of prestige by only allowing 4 doors that aren't older than about 10 years old, but there is a cheapo alternative to almost everything, so I don't see why there isn't one in this area of business.
>>17293199
I was thinking the same thing, also, some older cars that aren't pieces of shit could be cool like an old H1 hummer or old cadillac or something

I'm actually in the early stages of development for something like this, I might call it something like QuikRide

maybe if he's on the opposite traffic lane, in which case I just go about my day and look at him in my rearview mirror, which is where he will always be with that car.

Awd hot hatches thread.
Have you owned one?
If so what was it like to drive?
Did you modify it?
Would you buy one again?
Cheap suggestions for a project?
>>17291157
Buy an alto works 4wd or a daihatsu mira avazanto. Should be able to import one for less than 5k. Fun enough with base 64hp but can easily make about 100hp with few basic mods. If youre ready to spend a bit more money I heard you can go up to 130hp which is very good for 800kg cars. Plus they cute af
that jutsy isnt a hot hatch. more like a super economy car. think CRX HF

>not swapping in a Swift GTI engine
Can someone redpill me on the Mazda rx-8? I've always been interested in owning one, but I hear mixed things on them. Some say you have to baby the engine, others say you can't use them as a daily. From what I've seen on youtube channels, the rotary engine seems really fragile unless most of them are just exaggerating.
Just get a Miata like everyone else on /o/.

I just got out of tech school and got a job as a mechanic making 60k a year, I own a house and want a nice car. I want a 2000s porsche cayman, would this be a good idea or am I just stupid. Btw I live in sc so cost of living is dirt cheap.
How much are they? I hear theyre actually decent to maintain.
>>17297518
Good car. Comfortable enough to drive daily, fun enough for the weekend.
Reliable as far as sports cars go as well, and practical because two trunks.
Just be prepared to spend a fair bit if something breaks, and make sure you (and previous owners) keep/kept up on maintenance.

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little scooter? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in driving school, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Nandos, and I have over 300 confirmed Wheelies. I am trained in basic wrenching and I’m the top thug in all the SA bike gangs. You are nothing to me but just another displacelet. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on BMWs, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of tripfags across the board and your bike is being traced right now so you better prepare for the Strom, maggot. The V-Strom that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your bakiu. You’re fucking dead, anon. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can hoon in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my touring tires. Not only am I extensively trained in squding, but I have access to the entire arsenal of my toolbox and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of /o/, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit cheap oil all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, anon.
Why is this so expensive in Canada? People compare this to the GT86 but the cost difference is over 5k here. You could get a Mustang GT for the price of a Miata RF.
I never understood why anyone would buy a Miata instead of a Porsche Boxster
I never understood why anyone would buy a Miata instead of a Lamborghini Diablo
I never understood why anyone would buy a Miata over a Fiero with a bodykit

What is considered acceptable regarding "tuning" and visual mods in 2017?
anything but shitty light blue spray painted wheels
>>17296464
I doubt those are spray painted but they are ugly as fuck. thats for sure.
Tbh I wouldn't mind wheels that are painted in a bright colour. Then again my car has red wheels
I am interesting the 2017 SS Sedan. What do you guys this of this sedan.
oh herro preese how i speak engrish
>>17296020
It's a 10/10 car for me. Wouldn't change a thing about it except for putting the holden badges back on it.
>>17296020
Get it nigger it's cool as fuck and will hold its value really well
It better be stick though
Hello guys I might get an Audi RS3 when it comes out. What do you guys think of it?
It's been out since 2011.
I meant 2018 lol
>>17295961
Not much to say, as often with Audi you get what you pay for so it's a good car in pretty much all aspects, just know you can have a M2 for around the same price which is probably funnier (classical BMW RWD + manual) to drive but you won't have 4WD (so depending where you live it's maybe not the best idea).
General Tire Discussion Thread, since I didn't see one already.
I need a set of reasonably priced but somewhat grippy tires for my WRX (stock 16x6.5 wheels, 205/55/16). The Pilot AS3s that came on the car are almost bald.
Should I go for:
Riken Raptor ZRs ($67/each shipped from Tire Rack, supposedly made by Michelin, 300AA A Treadwear)
Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s ($75/each shipped, supposed to be the same as Potenza RE003s, 340A A Treadwear)
Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2 ($70/each shipped, 320AA A Treadwear)
Kumho Ecsta 4X II ($67/each, 420AA A Treadwear)
Federal 595 Evos ($70-80/each, 260AA A Treadwear)
>>17295943
...does a WRX really use something as thin as a 205?
>>17295943
I run the hankooks you mentioned at 195//205 and honestly pretty nice
kumhos gave me shit grip but when it lost it did it slowly
>>17295957
Its a older bugeye
What surprises me more are the thin wheels, 16x6.5s. After 2009 they got 17x8s (but those look butt ugly).
