Got it for 15$ today. Should have bought Project Cars instead

I wanted a fun but realistic game that could rivalize with Forza Horizon and I only heard good things about it. But this is one of the worst game I own: the story is boring, leveling your car or whatever is counterintuitive af, the graphics and physics are disgusting, the cars you can buy are shit, and I could go on and on

Tldr this is not a fun game at all

I feel like i was tricked with all the advertising etc around this game. Not really a surprise from ubi tho

The only thing I liked about it is that you can offroad mod a shit load of the cars. And when you did you still had the base and could get other conversions on it as well.

That said I'm with you on it, sad being a PS4 shitter and this is the closest thing to Horizon on it, there's just no good Street Racing games these days.

So, here the deal/issue. I just was told I'm due for a big promotion at work in about 3-4 months and decided that I'm buying a new car with the extra cash I'll be bringing in. My budget is about 32k maximum before taxes/fees. I'm looking for something small-ish, quick, fun, with the option for a standard trans and aftermarket performance upgrades once the warranty expires. Any and all recommendations are welcome, as long as they're for 2017-upcoming 2018 model year vehicles within my price range.

FYI, I currently own a 2002 Saab 9-3 SE and would like something similarly sized or slightly bigger/smaller.

Something I've been strongly considering is the upcoming 2018 WRX and the 2017 Focus ST

The car has to be reasonably practical, as I'd be keeping it into the foreseeable future. Into a time where I may very well be starting a family. I do get Z plan pricing at Ford and supplier pricing at GM as well as a small discount at a local dealership chain that sells nearly everything else. Even with the discounts, the upper model Mustang and Camaro are a bit more than I'm willing to spend.

You've been allowed to somehow magically acquire any sports or GT car you want.

However, the sports/GT car you select must have a pedestrian-tier base model variant, no sports-only cars. For example, no Vipers as even the base model is a crazy track beast, but a Focus RS is fine, as the Focus SE is pretty much a runabout.

You can get rid of the car later in your life if you want, but you won't get jack shit in a trade-in value, and nobody else will want it for much of anything. You must drive it, no garage princesses.

You are free to mod it as you would like, and you can have another car as your winter/daily car.
