Post pics of old cars in your neighborhood that have been abandoned. I'll start with this 300zx

1985
There's a red Miata NA near me that's been sitting in someone's driveway for about 10 years. Five years ago I knocked on their door and this woman says "We drive it, it's our summer car. Apparently she was talking about the summer of 2004. Been there so long it's sinking into the driveway.
>tfw
>His car doesn't have nice big wing
Why do you have such low self confidence that you are scared stick out a little bit even though you really like them?
>>17509116
You probably should have spent that money fixing the suspension, not on a wing.
>>17509149
Lol this. Unless a hamplanet is sitting in the drivers seat somethings fucked up.
>big wing
>car cant even go over 55 because of retarded suspension
The new waterview tunnel that links the western and south western motorways will have 18 speed cameras to enforce a max speed of 80 at all times.
This just ads to a list of pathetic fuck ups so far:
>emergency exits just go into the other tunnel
>jet fan system isn't powerful enough to cope with exhaust fumes of max traffic, so traffic into the traffic is regulated by...
>Fucking ramp signals! Yes the brand new section of tunnel has ramp signals at either end
>if a traffic jam forms in the tunnel, it will need to be evacuated. ie everyone turns off their cars and walks out
>they named it waterview tunnel. Which is both ironic now, and will be even more so when the fire suppression system causes it to flood
I was hoping this tunnel would be sick for some late night crusing and pulls, but now that "no fun allowed at any time ever" has been implemented I'll be avoiding this pile of shit at all times. Hopefully the traffic jams it will cause don't affect my commute.

I might take my plates off again tonight and go have a look
>>17456837
Is it open yet?
>>17456844
I don't think so. They are going to open it secretly so no big queues form
I really like the car, very very affordable (avoid the 2012, the rest are fine) fast, excellent handling, and that turbo whine. My god that turbo sounds likes music to my ears
>>17508512
I like it, but I personally would never want to own one. There are many better choices out there.
You can find a 2014 or 2013 for less than 10g's with low miles. It isnt the perfect car but if you get it at a dealership you got warranty
I love the sound of the turbo. It sounds better than the new wrx's.
How much did it usually cost to pimp someone's ride?
Was anything ever spent on mechanical repairs? like at all or was it just paintjobs, rims and media shit
nah they usually didnt fix problems
hell they even kept some of the real expensive shit they put into peoples cars
you can find quite a bit on the nets
$10-30k
>>17499925
Also just so you guys know most if not all the mods where put in there shown on camera then taken out as the department of public safety saw 1 episode then demanded that any ride "pimped" be considered non street legal
Your thoughts on the 370z
>>17519655
It feels heavy and floaty. I don't like it.
if you can't afford a new vee8 mustang this is what you should buy
>inb4 hurrr veesix trashstang
Looks slightly better than the 350z
Still looks kinda bloaty
How many miles is too many miles?
>>17519413
696, 969, 696, 969.696969696969 miles is too many miles.
Depends on the car.
Depends on the age.
Depends on the rust.
Depends if the engine/transmission have been rebuilt.
Basically, fuck all.
>>17519413
Tell us what you're looking at, that would provide a better opinion.
Shitboxes! Who makes the shitiest shit?
/o/ loves to hate on European shit but is a VW Polo really worse than a Toyota Aygo or Chevy Sonic?
How do Subcompacts rate against each other? granted some are not sold in North America, also How do Compacts rate against each other ie. Golf, Crolla iM, Cruze Hatch?
>>17519326
Japanese>European>>>>>>>>>American
The objective truth.
>>17519328
>european
What countries, exactly? British and Slavic cars are dogshit. And very few German cars would be considered "shitboxes" either.
>>17519326
Korean cars are the shitiest no doubt
Hey /o/, what's a good way to gauge a fair price for a high mileage car with mods?
I'm in the market for an older wrx to use as a winter car and somewhat daily. I've seen some with 180k - 220k miles going for around $5500-$$7000. They all have some sort of mods done. I'm not sure what would be the correct price since kelly blue book puts the cars at $3k stock.
Basically I just need a fun winter beater, and I don't mind driving ricers, but $6000 for a car with 200k miles seems kinda insane.
>>17519182
What generation, ie bug eye. Price veries a lot year to year with wrxs
>>17519182
that poor subaru got the honda treatment :(
>>17519194
Bugeye generation 2002-2003.
There is a nice 04 sti, but it has 144k miles and the guy wants $12k. Kinda stretching my budget for a beater.
Why would you rather buy a MX-5 over a MR2?
Which car do you prefer, which isnt that expensive?
My budget is 6000 USD.
And how to become a hashiriya?
If they're in perfect condition Mr2, if well used mx-5
>>17518961
Why must the mr2 be in perfect conditions?
>>17519042
harder to work on a MR2 than a miata
Eventually ICE will become expensive/inconveniant or even illegal in our life time, and the DOOD LUDICROUS SPEEEEED gimmick will get boring once literally every car can hit 0-60 in under 3 seconds. How do we make electric fun to drive?
>one big electric motor driving the rears through a conventional drivetrain and mechanical diff
>4 speed manual (arguably too many for an electric, 5/6 is pointless) with mechanical linkage
>straight cut gears and noisy electronics to make Formula E noises
>batteries in the back for rear-biased center of gravity for a light nose, and no power steering for nice feedback
>bare minimum AI functionality to be legal for dense urban areas
>80's gauges instead of a bunch of giant tablets
Or you could just do a EV conversion on a normal car that doesn't look like George Jetsons bsdm dungeon.
>>17518620
Gauges and mechanical switches.
find a way to create realistic V8 or V12 sounds
Would a 1988 535i with 140k miles make a reliable everyday car? Money for repair and maintenance isn't a huge issue. Here's the one: https://chicago.craigslist.org/nch/cto/6192694926.html
>>17518544
>Money for repair and maintenance isn't a huge issue.
Then it is a good car.
>automatic
>>17518550
How often will I be taking it in for major repairs?
Why is it that every American car I have ever been in feels absolutely disgusting? The sound of the cheap plastic, rattling and creaking, makes the car feel like it's about to fall apart. The horrible slow shifting automatic transmissions on these cars are downright dangerous.
It's no wonder the American auto industry literally needed to be bailed out like a nigger on EBT.
Are Americans really too retarded to make cars?
>>17518467
The shop towel
post your car
>op drive a 2 cylinder fiat
this is miata-chan
say something nice to her
Damn, you ugly.
>>17518054
nice wheels
should I pay 4.5 grand AUD for a miata unregistered? without roadworthy?
I drive in the left lane in the US without moving to another lane for 15-20 miles at a time. I go the speed limit or 5 miles above like a good driver. No accidents, havent been pulled over, been driving 15 years.
And yet, almost every day I get people tailgating me, honking, speeding past and for what? To be 30 seconds ahead of me at best? Or, they weave around me, almost hitting my front bumper once they pass and then when I honk they flip me off even when they are in some 90s pos vehicle.
Whats the point of that behavior /o/?
>>17518014
Burgers think the left-most lane is the speeding lane where you are allowed to go 15MPH above the speed limit. One guy speeds in the left lane and everyone follows, thinking it is a legal norm.
>>17518014
on long hauls those 10 mph extra shave more like 30 minutes off of a trip. Also left lane is for passing only.
>>17518041
i believe there is no such thing as a passing lane. You cant bully someone off their lane except if you're a cop or a ambulance
