Shitboxes! Who makes the shitiest shit?
/o/ loves to hate on European shit but is a VW Polo really worse than a Toyota Aygo or Chevy Sonic?
How do Subcompacts rate against each other? granted some are not sold in North America, also How do Compacts rate against each other ie. Golf, Crolla iM, Cruze Hatch?

The objective truth.

What countries, exactly? British and Slavic cars are dogshit. And very few German cars would be considered "shitboxes" either.

Korean cars are the shitiest no doubt

Thank you based toyota for being best shitbox manufacturer.
I´d argue that the 1KR-FE is the best commuter engine.

i have a shitbox toyota with a 22R and my mechanic says thats normal.

>22R
Wich version of it?
>>17519842
>valve ticking on 22R
You have to adjust valve clearance, it seems to be too much.
That costs you power and increases wear on the valvetrain wich makes the clearance even bigger.

is the factory spec wrong?
>>17520021
its an 82. the one with the double timing chain.
>>17520049
>is the factory spec wrong?
No, but the valve clearance changes due to wear on the valvetrain. (camshaft rubbing over bucket etc.)
Look for the correct clearance and measure it with a feeler-gauge, adjust it to be with in spec range.
at least post the right version.
