Hey /o/
I'm in a bad situation, need some advice.
>Yesterday I bought myself a used Nissan Elgrand 3.5L 2006 from a small dealer.
>It needed cleaning inside, but seemed good condition otherwise.
>Very few dents.
>Started fine and drove well.
>About an hour of driving home it started acting really weird.
>It's automatic, but it wouldn't change gears when I tried accelerating.
>Instead it went into sort of a neutral and started revving and then changed back to a lower gear after a short while.
>I just drive slower and figured I should have the gearbox looked at later.
>After 5-10 mins the problem stopped for a while, but soon started again.
>This time the oil light came on and pic related on the dash board.
(I can't read japanese though)
>Soon after the engine stopped.
>I pull over to the side of the road.
>Checked levels of oil, coolant etc.
>All within min/max.
>Try to start again.
>Dashboard lights up like a christmas tree, hardly any sound from starter.
>Display now resembles static like from an old TV.
>Battery is clearly struggeling.
>I call roadside assistance and wait.
>It's towed to a repair shop where it currently sits.
>After towing the battery had completely flattened, not even the emergency light lit anymore.
>We tried jump-starting it there, but with no luck.
TL;DR: I bought a new car and it broke down on the way home.
Anyone has any idea what the issue might be?
Maybe something easy to fix, or some bigger issue?
And how to sort this out with the dealer?

>Anyone has any idea what the issue might be?
Nissan ElGrand
VG35.
>>17704971
Did you mean VQ35 and are you saying the engine is just bad?
OP here,
I should add that it had a squeal for about 20 seconds when starting up.
Could it be the alternator dying?
Would that also explain the behaviour of the transmission, if there is not enough battery power?
Is it worth getting into cars with our future most likely being electric and self-driving?
I'm only just now seeing the magic of it but the future seems really depressing
>>17704805
Go into I.T. Anon.
I did and I'm pretty stable now.
The future is depressing though, I won't argue with you there.
>>17704805
its worth getting into cars BECAUSE our future is electric and self driving cars.
a manual ICE sport coupe is going to be a major collectors item in 20 years.
>>17704805
do real Miatas really have spikey tongues?
What is the perfect car for police forces and why is it the BMW 2 series?
why not a tesla?
>>17704496
Bong cop are inept
Just give them military vehicles, western world is in a police state anyways.
There's no excuse anymore...
/ourguy/
But /o/ is far more autistic I'm afraid
But was he moving?
Ok, so I have the chance to get a 2010 civic sedan with the auto for about 2900 with 200k miles on it
Is this a terrible idea? Previous owner has a lot of records and took good care. Was a computer car owned by my brother in law
Also does anybody know about common issues I could look for before i buy it?
Pls halp :3
>>17703925

Would look nice if the grill extended down over that gaping, black maw.
>>17703896
They didn't go far enough.

So did the Viper fanclub just give up in the end and go home?
>>17703774
Yeah... i think i'd still take the viper over the radical desu
>>17703774
Huh.. I cant legally drive a Radical on the road in my country, yet a Viper is A-OK. I think your thread is bullshit and you are a fucking retard for posting it.
>>17703810
Viper is a production car Radical isn't. OP likely just as a sore butt.
>driving normally
>for whatever reason the driver behind you starts cussing at you
>"GO YOU FUCKING RETARD"
What do you do?
>>17703632
>Dab

>>17703632
Start braking for intersections super early, and stopping at stop signs for 3 full seconds.
>you will never have the money to buy a factory pristine e100 toyota corolla in manual transmission and keep it bone stock perfect condition as the ultimate daily
>>17703555
Why would I want a piece of shit like that anyway?
>>17703812
Because it's beautiful

What is the most common car in your area.
Pic related (obviously)
I have the 3 door one in red
The electric steering has ZERO feedback but I guess that's fine for a commuter box

Also known as the "I don't even know how is it possible for this car to properly function but hey, as long as it works is fine for me" econ-box
peugeot hatchbacks, golfs and passats
i see the peugeots so much i only just recently noticed how good the 205/206 actually looks
shame that all the used gtis available are riced to death or converted to rally missiles
Yep, those NYC faggots crashed another press car while reviewing it.

>I am deeply ashamed, and I am deeply sorry, not only for the nice people at Fiat Chrysler who lent Jalopnik this car, but also to my coworkers who were waiting to drive it, and also use it to record a video the following week.
>That video shoot, I had to inform them, would be delayed.
>Because of me. Because I was a moron.
Lets all point and laugh at these idiots that don't know shit about driving but have the hubris to call themselves automotive journalists.
>>17702815
>linking to jalopshit
>>17702815
Wish those commie fucks had died in it, then the car would have had a honorable death
How do you get paid to drive fast cars, and then crash something with 160HP?
what does /o/ think of this garage?
from the outside
found these pics from the "Show your Garage" thread on rennlist
Where be tools?
i just started 5th stage. The only race so far i genuinely wondered who would win was Ryosuke Vs. Kyoichi ! best race in the series so far. prove me wrong
>Protip: u can't
>>17702187
The GOD HANDO vs fuji man race and the sw20 man vs fuji man races were the best of the series.
but of course, the cool vibrations man vs fuji man race was literally the best
cannot be disputed
Honestly the ryosuke battle saved the series. I can't remember anything from fifth stage other than the Miata got dicked.
>>17704450
So /o/ likes this car because it keeps women away and attracts men?
>>17702138
Implying someone on /o/ would have a relationship with anyone gay or not, let alone own a new car
>>17702138
>>17702148
Not gonna lie, I am hetero but there's no better company than a good buddy.
>>17702138
Women love miatas. My gf thought it was the greatest thing ever when I got the pop ups to wink at her
> "Its so cute anon! You should keep it forever!"
Hey /o/
I know this board has a large following in Houston so I was hoping that by some fat chance or some stretch of luck someone may be able to help me
Anyways back in may I bought an S14 in hopes of making a drift car like I'd always wanted (I was in high school at the time). Unfortunately I had lost the time to work on it right as it was becoming drivable and actually looked decent. I was forced to sell it and some asshat off Craigslist decided to steal it without paying. I'm not looking for life lessons or opinions on how dumb I am, I'm just wondering if anyone's seen the car. Thanks
Tl;dr: have you seen this car in Houston?
Pic related, the shitbox
bro how does that even happen?
>>17701997
Sorry this happened to you, Anon. Good luck, Here's a bump.
>>17702008
A sub-animal comes to look at it, then declines to purchase. Car is missing later.
