Looking for a good first car for up to 2000 Euros, my priorities are good fuel economy and the lowest possible maintenance costs.
Not much else really, don't care about the styling or the brand, or standard equipment as long as it has AC and the basic safety kit.
So far the first gen Yaris with the 1.3l petrol seems to cover all the bases, it should be extremely reliable and the parts appear to be cheap.
The other car I'm eyeing is the Honda Jazz with either 1.2l or 1.4l petrol.
Which would you chose between the two, and do you have any other suggestions?

Forget about the Toyota and Honda Jizz, picrel car is everything you'd ever need.

saying that if you can afford to buy such a big car throwing bucks for repairing it isn't such a big deal.

Going from an 04 stock TSX to a 2000 Integra GS-R I must say was a huge difference. My Integra feels like a tin can and the sound system is horrid. It's also on Tokico Illuminas. What are some things I can do eliminate the horrid ride quality.

I typically don't see a thread like this. Have any of you tried to tune your own vehicle? I saw there is a tactrix cable for the evo and I wanted to know how hard/long it would take to learn. I don't want to do a shit tune either, I mean fully understand what I'm doing. Thoughts?

Its possible.
I have used tactrix on a subaru, and have tuned vehicles running on megasquirt, ME221, caterpillar and delphi ecus.
You need to learn the basics of tuning, so AFR and ignition timing. VE tables, and MAF and MAP scaling, boost control and knock control/prevention.
Its not too difficult, but you need to know what you're doing ad why you're doing it before you start otherwise you'll quickly come unstuck.
