What do you guys think of Mado King Granzort?
Kind of interested in checking it out cause I like the robot designs and the theme is pretty catchy
As an anime in general, it was fun. As a magic giant robot anime it gets overshadowed by quite a few others.
>>15040848
Man, now I'm interested in this too.
>>15040848
I think I could give you an answer were it subbed.
>[GringoSubs]GaoGaiGar Batch 2 (15-30)
ITS HAPPENING
>>15040543
Neat!
>>15040543
What happened to Bunnyhat?
>>15040543
Yes fucking finally. Now rest of the episodes (31-49) and I can finally watch this. The DVD rips that are available has so fucking terrible audio quality you need to be hearing impaired to watch them.
Holy shit
Bless up

>I only have one pose: the mobile suit
the rifle is cool and all but it'll be hard to pull off a dynamic pose, if it can somehow shoulder it properly then color me impressed.
>>15040642
It's a great pose though
This may be off topic for /m/'s usual topics but do you think that for Tokyo's Olympic opening that they'll have the Latest Kamen Rider and Sentai Team just show up with a coordinated fight scene? Or just have the Original Kamen Rider Ichigo and the GoRangers show up?
No.
No, they'll have the new 1/1 scale Gundam come out.
They seem to already have a handful of widely-recognized pop culture stuff lined up like Pac-Man, Doraemon, and Hello Kitty, so while a lot of cool other things could happen, I wouldn't hold your breath.
Thoughts on them designwise?
Outside the thin waists the Gundam Frames are fine. The issue was them not having enough screentime.
Love them all. They really nailed the demon aesthetic they were going for, except for the Rebake FC which looks more like a heavy-duty brawler which is cool in its own right.
>>15040259
Yeah I was building the HG Vidar the other day and the thin waist bothered me a little bit but other than that it's probably my favorite from IBO so far.
So, why do YOU like mecha?
>>15040072
I like how they combine the dynamic posing abilities of a human with the powerful and intricate motions of a machine. Looking at heavy machinery is cool, looking at people being athletic is cool, mecha combines both.

Because is the future bruhhhh
I like mecha stories, the mechas itself, I dont give a shit.
Found this little gem today, anything else like this?
Heres the back in case anyone was curious.
>>15039944
Looks like they cut off Lightning's face and stuck it on the chest of a robot (because it looks cool) but I'm curious if the robot mold's of anything.
>>15040097
It looks like a bayformers bumblebee painted red and given Lightning McQueen details
Wait what
SHE'S ONLY 15!?

Leynos bombed hard. At least in the West. Is there any hope for Mecha series?
Honestly, I can't think of any really successful HD remakes of old games. They always seem rather piddling and never recapture the magic of the originals. A better way for the Assault Suit series to go would be full 3D game as that would seem to be the next logical step.
We'll pull though somehow. Mecha might go through a silent period but will return. Giant robots never go out of style.
Have some punching mechs.
>>15038402
>>15038408
Yeah, Battletech got a lot of love on Kickstarter. I think Leynos did poorly because of poor marketing (I didn't see many ads for it and most folks in the US would have remembered it as Target Earth). I think other mecha games will do better.
-FMP IV
-Thunderbolt S2
-BF OVA
-Geass Compilation Movies
-Origin V
anything else confirmed?

G-Reco is supposed to start playing in theaters.

What? Why? how?

how did you forget R3
After seeing Rogue One and being rather disappointed, I have to question whether there's a single franchise out there with a universe that can sustain multiple different stories without relying heavily on fanservice or feeling out of place. No matter what franchise I think of, like UC Gundam, Macross, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc, none of their universes stand solidly enough to support other's ideas without relying on callbacks.
Has there ever been an Expanded Universes that's worked well, or are they all disjointed with wild fluctuations in quality across the individual stories?
Rogue one was is not expanded universe. Star Wars' expanded universe was rebooted, killed by disney. Rogue one is the new canon.
>>15037409
It's the new expanded universe. Anything that didn't happen in the original trilogy is an expanded universe. Whether it's canon or not is irrelevant.
>>15037399
What about all the Dynamics? Go Nagai seems to think everything, both mecha and non-mecha, he's ever made belongs in the same universe plus Getter.
Am I the only one who thought that the manga was pretty shit?
Machi's death was such an asspull. She was literally killed out of nowhere.
>>15036720
Manga seemed to be dark and edgy on purpose. Whole child sex exploitation just seemed to be shock factor.
>>15036720
You should read the dudes other series which is basically
Pokemon, but what if the pokemon were the children's bodies and everything is really fucked up?
>>15036815
>Pokemon, but what if the kids suffered all the damage the Pokemon tank
>also EVA-Ending
Cool drawings of aircrafts though.
How does /m/ feel about it?
fights are interesting, characters range from so-so to okay, plot is sorta dumb at times
it's extremely formulaic
>>15034525
The episode with infantry taking down Zakus was top tier.
I rather like Igloo 2. There is no winning for grunts.
>guy had a broken leg so he couldn't climb out of his tank.
Why is Guntank so underrated? His design makes much more sense than biped mobile suits.
>>15032306
> a tank that's 15 meters tall and has tracks for space operation makes more sense than anything else
>>15032306
>His
It's a mobile suit, an it, not a he, retard.
>design makes much more sense than biped mobile suits.
Yeah, something that literally just does what tanks do but worse is so much more practical than those humanoid suits.
Who would ever want the abilities to navigate rougher terrain than any other vehicle, manipulate objects with their hands, change weapons and other equipment effortlessly using said hands, utilize AMBAC, and more.
Fucking moron, get out and go back to /k/ with your lame tank bullshit.
>>15032306
>His design makes much more sense than biped mobile suits.
Hell no it doesn't. Guntank is all the problems of tanks and all the problems of mobile suits with none of their good points.
