Anyone here ever watch Starship Operators? Was going through my backlog and finished it recently myself.
Not a bad little sci fi space tactics series if you're in the mood for something less heavy than LOTG but a bit more complete than ___ of the stars.
>>15044246
I think I watched the first two episodes? It didn't hook me.
It was pretty good though a few of the deaths were a bit hamfisted.
Felt it could have used more episodes considering the number of characters.
this comic came out 1977, the same year Genndy Tartakovsky moved to the united states. I'm not saying he bought it, but I do believe he at least saw the cover at some point in his first few years of comic-reading, and the design aesthetic stayed with him and inspired Sym-Bionic Titan.
Aren't they both just Roman helmets?
>>15044038
vaguely, but the "fin" is much further up and more squared
>>15044034
>>15044049
It's a generic Hollywood Roman/Greek helmet design.
What does /m/ think of Dunbine? Is it worth watching?
>>15043964
It's pretty great. Takes a few episodes to get going and the ending arc drags hard, but overall a good show.
>>15043964Tomino lives up to his name with this one.
somebody has to scrub this shit
Do you prefer your robots with pupils or without?
>>15043392
"Real robots" shouldn't have pupils.
Without. I like when the face looks less like a person(Zaku, GM) or looks like a mask(Mazinger, Getter Robo). I think the Gundam heads look too "Hero".
>>15043392
Depends on what the design is trying to convey
With Getter or something like Giant Robo, the pupils work because they imply sentience, the robot having a will of its own. And that's the implication given off by the context of the show as well. For Getter in particular, I do like how it started off without pupils and then the later ones gained them as they were powered by more and more Getter energy.
This also works the other way; overtly sentient robots like Braves and Transformers do seem a bit strange since they have very robotic eyes in most cases. That's why its ironically a bit easier to understand SD Gundams as sentient.
Saw episode 29 today.
Yep he is even blonde.
>>15043039
That's clearly Terryman
Better Char coming through
I think it might be
Definitely not
A mech has to either be piloted or be bipedal
>>15043269
They don't have to be either of those things, though it's definitely hard to find examples of ones that aren't
>>15042824
It's been /m/ for at least 5 years now.
Your great, great great, great 11 year old granddaugther from the future traveled back in time(highly against the law) to give you a giant robot for your birthday, knowing how much it meant to you.
Pic related is what you got. An A.I will help control the other two units.
>>15042692
Wow that was really nice of her. Im gonna have to make sure to spoil her rotten provided I don't die in a robot accident
>>15042692
Why do people like the Tryon 3 so much?
It's just a shitty knock off of ZZZ
>>15042692
>Granddaughter
>implying
Something strange with this Kycilia. Dont you think?
>>15042053

>>15042053
She looks like a meltrandi trying to fit in.
>>15042053
It's been a while Since the last /m/ sings. Any ideas on what to cover next?
Personally I'm thinking either Ideon or Combattler V
>>15041677

>>15041165
GAI CHAN THE GREAT!
>there will never be an actual LoDM sequel
Nanoha called, she wants her coat back.
>>15041156
Another generic moe shit with yuri shit for faggots
What sort of weapon would create slowly moving (sub-light-speed), discrete, plasmoid projectiles?
I see these things all the time but they're rarely explained.
>>15041113
>>15041129
Guess you're sorta right, but the plasmoid projectiles, when fired on the surface of a planet, never have curved ballistic arcs as if they were bullets.
They shoot in straight lines.
>>15041155
Minovsky particles don't gravity because shut up UC Gundam is gritty and realistic.

Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post pictures whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting pictures.

***Graze Group Build***
Rules:
Pick any 1/144 or 1/100 kit from the Graze family (Pic Related), and paint and customize it. As far as customizing it, I'm going to place a limit on that. The limit is 50% additions to the kit.
To define 50%, look at it like this, you could take a Graze Ritter and replace the arms (including shoulders), legs, and backpack and I'd call that 50%. I'm not counting handheld bits in that. If you're unsure of something please ask in IRC, the thread, or email.
Start Date: 12/1/16
