Truth be told, I'd rather if it at least had some kind of armored plating all over the front...and a Imperial Knight-like head just in case a paranoid Inquisitor hired "Ork Snipers" to headshot the pilot.

They are pretty useless on earth, just big slowly walking targets. In space however, they are fast and small targets (compared to spaceships) and pretty deadly.

Ever since i watched ZZ (loved it) and saw Moon Moon, i have been confused in regards to resources in the universal century. Let me clarify that by resources i mean the three following things: Manpower, Money and Natural Materials. I wont go into depth about why moon moon doesn't make sence, but ill ask you (the reader) this: on a futuristic space colony, with no natural materials to dig up from the ground, how did the soldiers of moon moon get helmets? and this made me think, where did zeon before the development of the zaku get the metals, enginers, materials for the enginers to work with, and so on, to make all of the zeon ships, and weapons so they could get somewhere, and develope the first mobile suits, so they could go to earth, They made mines on earth, so that they could produce moar mobile suits and ships, but where did they get the resources for the initial ships and mobile suits. Speaking of mines, wouldn't the earth be almost empty of materials from making all of the space colonies, i mean, imagine how much steel, and other natural materials would be used on just ONE colony, think about it. Now imagine, how much there is left after the federation uses the earths natural resources to create: all of the colonies, its spaceship armada, the moon colony, and a bunch of other stuff, there would be almost next to nothing left on the earth. And besides, how much did it cost the federation to build all of the space colonies, getting the resources from earth into space, having enough workers to build the colonies and paying all of those workers. Knowing this, one would think that the federation would be bankrupt when the colonies would be finished, and the earth would have been in big trouble. I have a lot more stuff like this, in regards to Neo Zeon, Zeon and Anaheim Electronics. But i think all of you get the point. My question is, if this is explained in some obscure light novel from 30 years ago, but im gonna complain about it anyhow.

Humans mined the asteroids for the resources for the colonies after the first space stations. the Earth Federation didnt need to further strip the earth of resources because the spacenoids sent the resources their way. Most of the Feddies spacecraft were built in space thanks to the Spacenoids.

Wouldnt work. Zeon was too unstable. 'Zeon won the war' would looks indistinguishable from 'literally everyone is fucking dead'.
Zeon loves crashing the only way to live in space into the only other place to live too much.

Hey /m/,
Can anyone ID the little red-and-white figure from this 1995 Power Rangers micro playset toy?
All the monsters from these mini-sets were 'real' monsters who were either on the show or in the source Sentai so logically this guy should be from either Dairanger or Kakuranger, but I'm having no luck figuring out who he is.

I did go today. It was okay, not worth 40 bucks at the door. Very few /m/ stuff, but a lot more cosplayer than I expected.

I always find it funny when people compare 0079 Gundam to Star Wars saying it's a rip-off. In some ways it's clear that it is inspired by it but saying its a rip off is a stretch "muh new-type is a Jedi". But what is just as evident is Zetas connection to Force Awakens.
Both stories star with a young person In outer space who are picked up by a character from the previous franchise (Char and Han) they both discover that they have psychic abilities (new-type Jedi) and eventually become caught up in a war that is very similar to the war our previous heroes fought in many years ago (Zeon Titans and Empire First Order) but the main character from the last series is hiding out somewhere not interacting in this new conflict. The previous crew are idolized by the new MC (White Base millennium falcon). Just a few
Not trying to say its a stolen plot but from the first portion of Zeta and the first movie in the new trilogy there are similarities

Well it always bothers me when people call Gundam the "star trek" of Japan just because I always thought that Gundam was more comparable to Star Wars while if your going to compare anything to Star Trek it's ultraman. The whole young protagonist thing is really just a story trope that make it easier to develop a character and teach the themes to the viewer. But there are some things that stick out, both have an iconic villain that has so many clones in other media, both have a huge expanded universe with canon debate, one thing they do have a lot in common is the force and newtype thing. A very mystical element in a science fiction setting.

Something about Star Wars being almost exactly the archetypal hero's journey and so it naturally sharing similarities with pretty much everything that follows the same outline
The similarities are fairly superficial anyway. Jedi are the super secret club for wizards in tune with nature/the universe, Newtypes are a higher form of life altogether in tune with other similarly evolved people, even if both have some supernatural powers. Char and Vader both have masks and are somewhat disloyal to their empires, but Vader's disloyalty only comes up at the end, whereas Char was scheming against the Zabis from day one. Degwin and the Emepror are both wrinkly fuckers, but completely the opposite personality-wise, Degwin is introspective and ultimately chooses morality over victory, the Emperor is a personification of dark forces. The Empire ARE evil, the Rebels ARE good, whereas with Gundam Zeon and the Feddies are a mixed bag of incompetence, malice, heroism and honesty. Leia is actual space monarchy and everyone knows it, Sayla is more the 'Anastasia in hiding' type of princess.
I'm sure there are other similarities, but those are all the ones I can remember seeing brought up off the top of my head.
