There is none, other than slight equipment and performance differences that barely matter. The Ground Gundam can carry an equipment container for extended long range missions.

The Ground GM is less versatile (but probably more durable) than the standard GM, and was likely used for testing the waters and collecting data for the eventual rollout of the standard GM. The regular old GM was already in planning for quite a long time, the rollout of the Ground GM was nothing more than a stopgap design to use in battle and to collect operating data.

Gundam is actually a good starting point if you want older stuff, the original 1979 series easily falls into that category and is quite enjoyable by itself.

If you know Grendizer, Mazinger Z is found on Nyaa in proper English in its 92 episode glory, plus movies. There's stuff Like Combattler, Voltes V, Daitarn, Dairugger, Daltanious, etc. You may have to do some searching for torrents of these, but they're there.

Oh yeah also Dougram and VOTOMs are great.
Xabungle n' Ideon are also nice.

They should have been yonic designs instead of phallic ones in that case given their role in the show. Even an unprotected guy with a big phallic symbol (Balgus) managed to rape a bunch of them in the first episode if I recall.

I only do that for tabletop game models, where its easier to get some sort of attachment going because you use them in actual competitive fights. /tg/ calls this concept "your dudes."

I don't play tabletop games, but I do have a fleshed-out background for my megami device Hornet I've been working on. I get really worked up into the fictional world (that I made up because I don't know any MD canon even exists) when I start thinking about accessories and stuff and try to come up with rationale for using them and how they work. Still haven't gotten around customizing gunpla, though.

Everything on Netflix is a sequel/midquel which requires previous experience and background info, so don't watch it first. As for everything else, your best bet is the 2001 series.

Some stuff was fansubbed, but many of those are either torrents that have since run dry or fileshares that've been nuked. Crabsticks DVDs from eBay may be the best bet for them now.
