So my wife used to shoot occasionally as a kid and even went hunting, but in her teenage years she went through a traumatic event where a friend tried to kill herself with a gun. Since then she's been scared of handling firearms. She still supports gun rights, and even when I would pull off my CCW when things were getting intimate she wouldn't bat an eye. But the one time I tried to take her shooting she started crying the first time I pulled the trigger. She wants to learn to shoot, but is having trouble overcoming the event. What should I do?

I live in USA - Georgia, and I was curious if I could ever get my gun license even though I used to take Zoloft(Depression medication). I was never locked up for my depression BUT a Doctor did try to send me to a institute which I did go and got screened but they told me I me I was safe and did not need to go.

I have always preferred irons to glass as I don't tend to shoot 500m+.
Other than the Ruger Scout and Mossberg MVP, what modern rifles come with decent irons on them from factory. Really don't wanna pay a gunsmith X hundred to put irons on a bolt gun.

Certain variants of the CZ bolt guns have irons. Other than that, I'm not sure. You could always just get into milsurp. Those tend to be more fun, anyway, so long as you don't get a rifle chambered in 7.65 Unobtanium or something.

Range buddy has an old Winchester Model 70 sporter in 30-06 with irons. The rear sight is a leaf type. I've put a few shot through it and it is not too bad out to 100 after that I need a scope due to poor eyesight.

I've been looking into getting another milsurp ever since I bought my first Mauser a few weeks ago.
I wanted either a Mosin or Enfield and something a little more portable so I settled on this 7lb beauty.
Yeah, she is reminiscent of bubba jobs, but the receiver cuts and weight allow me to forget about that. The one thing I'm worried about is all this talk of "wandering zero" and how these are super inaccurate because of the receiver cuts I mentioned. Should I still get it? Anything I use it for will be pretty close up so I don't know how big of a difference being off zero will make.

Make sure you are getting a real one. There's a lot of fakes out there. Big difference between the original Jungle Carbine that was made by the Brits and someone that a company cut up after the fact that are "sporterized" Jungle Carbines.
I have one. I only shot it a few times and it was going high. Didn't try to correct it so I don't know about wandering zero but I think it's not too big of a problem desu.

Do most fire missions use contact fuses or proximity fuses?
Proximity fuses were first extremely effective against aircraft, and then so very effective against land targets in the Battle of the Bulge that Patton thought if all armies used them warfare itself might have to change.
Are they really that much more effective than shells hitting the ground and exploding? Why are they not more commonplace?

Alrighty /k/omrades.
I got a car. I'm obviously gonna need to do some work, and it'll need a paint job (open to suggestions)
But I figured since you guys are my home board I'd ask what you think would go best in this things glovebox, and what car/gun combo you guys have.
It's a 1968 Ford Fairlane/Torino.
So far I've come up with a semi auto MAC-10 in a shoulder holster rig or a 1911.
I'll post my gun collection in a minute.
