What's the best .40 pistol on the California roster???
I need it for a security job.
>>34885790
Why does it have to be .40SW?
>>34885790
Is the USP on there?
>>34885837
Yes but it's kinda pricey. I'm stuck on either the Glock 23 gen 3, the Sig SP2022 in 40, or the PX4 storm in 40. Can't decide which one to choose?
Also I was considering an XD40 service model or even an HK P2000 in 40
I imagine at least a dozen of you have actually been in the Air force.
I have a clearance, and I work for a defense contractor. I also have some brain issues that I tally want to go see a counselor or psychiatrist about.
Say I'm depressed, sucicidal, and have an irrational hated for people (women) who I blame for my own problems.
I don't want to lose my clearance or my job. Is it safe to go look for actual non-alcoholic help?
>>34885489
Short answer, Yes. You can be a fucking wingnut and keep your clearance.
>>34885608
I remember the SF86 had a "did you talk to a person about being crazy" question on it. What will happen if I always yes?
>>34885631
Filling out your SF86 the first time is different from now. It is CONSTANTLY emphasized to us in my community that there won't be repercussions if you seek help (I.e. you have to initiate, not get sent by someone else) for PTSD, or any issue for that matter.(financial, marital, etc)
But you have to be the one to ask for help.
Couldn't find knife general.
Ebay dealer accepted return on my bent used kabar I paid forty dollars for. Should I return it , try to bend it back , or just live with this slight bend? How likely is it the integrity of knife is damaged and does it damage blade more to bend it back?
>>34885440
i dont see any bend
>>34885446
See it now
>>34885440
well forty dollars for a ka bar isnt bad. honestly the bend will have no noticeable effect. do not try to baton with a ka bar. this is a "fighting"/utility knife
How many shitty war stories have you read?
>Waffen SS fights back from Eastern Front
>makes it to Switzerland
>joins French Foreign Legion
>gets shipped out into the killing fields of the proto-Vietnam first Indo-China war.
Yeah, sounds like a good read at face value. Then you get half a chapter in, realize that it reeks of more bullshit than a 4chan greentext, with gaping holes, and time to do nazi apologist monologues right in the middle of a firefight.
Holy fuck, this book sucks, stay the fuck away.
>>34885355
I like reading Tom Clancy novels but I haven't really liked the latest ones. I read a couple after he died that were intersting enough to listen in audiobook format as I commute to work but I don't really care about Jack Jr going to Iran. Jack Jr's cousins are more interesting.

One Soldier's War. Went in thinking it would be insightful about the second Chechen war. It was about brutality, rape, and incompetence. Except all of this was from the Russian armed forces. Very large grain of truth to that, but then looking further it was written by a peacenik and many characters and events are combined and recalled from memory. Wasn't completely terrible, but a slog to read with personal political undertones.

I plan on trading my AR for an AK listed as being made with a Maadi parts kit and Century receiver. How reliable are the Maadi kits? Are they decent quality? I've heard good things but I'm new to the AK platform.
>>34884936
Who built it? Any markings on the reciever?
>>34884957
Not certain. I know they guy is older, and might not have a camera phone. His listing description reads "My ak has a century receiver with an Egyptian maadi parts kit in it"
Maybe a home build?
>>34885067
Possibly or a century misr90, which is bad.
Why did no one ever thought about this? its perfect.
The hydro static shock would make the kid mash and force fragments of the hull inside a building, basically acting like a frag, but with no explosive required, reducing the price significantly, since african kids are basically free.
Also the 8.11km/s of delta v would make this 24kg projectile (african kid included) pierce any modern tank, acting like a AP-HE but with a more controlled explosion.
Its also very easy to manufacture since it would only require a thick Vanadium-Chromium Steel AP cap, fluorine and hydrogen tanks and a african child, the last one being very abundant and almost free of charge.
Its environment-friendly, cheap, effective, and most importantly: it would help the world get rid of the undesirables. Its the perfect AE (anti-everything) missile and no one ever thought about it.

Couldnt one make ap ammo just by putting pointed needle bearing in a round?

As long as you fill it with some nasty hair, too.

Just bought these, anyone knows who uses these in the real steel world like sfg or something familiar? Never seen these before desu

Good pants, bought my pair a while back.
I got mine in 32 xlong and they fit me perfectly. (6'2' 150lbs) A little baggy but are adjustable in several places. You can tell the pants are high quality and I believe the fabric doesn't drip when on fire. I want to get the knee pads for mine sometime soon.

So I have some rustoleum in black od and tan. I have a couple marijuana leaves I want to use to camouflage the stock. What color combinations would look the best in your opinion?
>buy brown
>paint gun all OD
>black, tan and brown leaf silhouettes all over
Also you might as well just use a black synth stock if youre gonna paint.
>>34883962
Would I encounter any problems if I sanded down a wood stock and then used a primer?

Discussion on how to design a proper de-recoiler. This is his idea on what the military should have on bolt action rifles.
-a weight of various mass to stop the rifle from flying out of a soldiers hands.
-added length to the string for better control (gravity-recoil=precision)
-contractable string for effiecent compact control for easy movement and deployment.
Discuss below
It would counteract muzzle rise, but do nothing for rearwards recoil. It would make effective followup shots impossible because you constantly have to wait for the 10lb swinging pendulum to stop fucking up your aim.
>>34883873
I told him the same thing but he wants a group decision with facts to why this would not work.
Just to clear up some things.
This is from a discussion with my coworker on his method of reducing recoil. And he's not trolling.
It's called a muzzle brake.
Outside of Rhodesia, what are some good /k/ approved media (movies, books, documentaries, etc.) about sub-Saharan Africa? Preferably based in post-colonial times?

Hi /k/
I was wondering if any of you had any interesting stories, trivia or info about the classic 'Elephant Gun'. I'm currently writing a bit of fiction which includes a ships captain, fighting a Goliath crab armed with an elephant gun and was hoping if any of you could help illustrate what kind of weapon it was to use and handle.
>>34883118
Elephant guns are usually more like this, at least for the past two centuries or so. Double barrel .50-.70 caliber rifle. Before that it would just be a fuck huge musket.

I once shot a Goliath crab in my pyjamas.
How he got in my pyjamas I'll never know
