Alright /k/, it's time to reveal our darkest secrets. Nobody ever means to do stupid shit, but as has been demonstrated time and time again, we frequently do anyway. Including with guns.
What's the dummest thing you've ever done with a gun. Worst that I've done was I drove out to a remote public range, nobody else there, and after I got set up I realized I'd left my ears back in the city. I'm at this magical range in the mountains and have no hearing protection. Fuck. So I said screw it, I'll shoot six anyway (I had a .22 revolver at the time, and figured I'd probably be fine). Six shots later I turn around and realize I've lost all balance. I just sat there for a while until I'd recovered enough to clean my shit up and try to drive back down the mountain.
>pic sort of related
Had another issue at this range with another guy setting up to shoot BEHIND THE FUCKING FIRING LINE. There's not really a berm here so much as you're in a pit on the side of a mountain. He was standing right on the lip of that backstop, and just insisted "no, you can keep shooting, you'll just send your rounds into the berm". So I left.
Jesus Christ, imagine joining NATO in [currentyear]
>Nato wants you to buy their hyper-expense cartridges that they won't let you make because muh copyright
>Firms from Euro and NA constantly harassing you about buying their new shitty AR clone / obviously too expensive space gun
>Nato wants you to remove all your decent-but-cheap combloc tanks and buy multi-million dollar Abrams/Leo 2's/Challengers/etc.
>Nato also wants you to do this with your airforce
>"no, goy, just buy our nice F-16's goy"
>Nato demands at least 2% military spending from you, but sub-2% is acceptable if it's America's hat/eurofags
>Nato constantly dragging you into US middle eastern conflicts
>Nato constantly haranguing you to join the [UN (currentyear) peacekeeping initiative in (shit country)]
>"Basically people will shoot at you and you're not allowed to return fire and eventually the entire country will hate you forever. Interested?"
>finally a principle power invades a non-Nato nation
>fucking suckers
>nato rushes to their defense anyways

This sentence didn't make sense even before the part where you have no idea what a copyright is.

Other nations need to start picking up the goddamn slack with their defense. Maybe spend less on "muh-entitlements" and more on proper modern gear and the world won't have to cling so hard to American ballsack.

>"Bro, you have to have the magazine IN the gun for it to shoot :)"
apparently "magazine safeties" are a thing now.
why
literally why
First off, mag disconnects have been around for a long time.
Second, why did you try and fire with a round chambered and no magazine? I guess Negligent Discharges run in the family if you're around.

jesus christ kiddo, have you seriously never pulled the trigger on a loaded gun without a magazine in it?

Not looking for cheap meal prep ideas, just tasty fuel. How do I into operator food?
I'm a lazy fuck who just puts literally everything on a baking sheet and showers while it cooks.
I like making breaded, boneless chicken thighs en mass. Random spices on top. Bake random veggies on the tray with them.

We can't be friends anymore.
I've been seeing Taurus PT709 pistols online for $169.99 for awhile now and have even found them in brick-mortar and big box stores for $199. Does anyone have any personal experience with them?
I know that there are a lot of Taurus automatic pistols that have very hit and miss quality control but I've only seen good things about the TCP 380 pistol and the 709 seems like a big brother to that one.
>>34916387
They're good. Since it has a manual safety I use mine for pocket carry, keep it in the glovebox until I need it.
>>34916387
A friend of mine has a PT709 and it constantly refuses to go into battery, FTF and stovepipes. The lips have been polished on the mags and feed ramps and the 709 is still awful. Get yourself a cheap EAA for around 220. You won't regret it.
As for the TCP I couldn't say as I haven't fired one yet.
>>34916387
Millenium is the big bro to the 709.
i owned both the Millenium and 709. The difference in width is pretty negligible. I never had issues with it even with Tula, but it isnt super accurate. The 709 is pretty snappy recoil-wise. It'd make a decent pocket-carry.
How bad of an idea for SHTF is a little short PDW/SBR? My buddy brought a build in progress out today, and it really made me want something similar.
I'd say it's an excellent choice if you live in the city. Most self-defense engagements in the city happen in close range, so an SBR can really shine.
>>34916316
Should I concern myself with a suppressor? People tell me to go .300 Blackout and a suppressor for such a build, but I already have a few guns in 5.56 and a ton of ammo.
>>34916361
If you're getting tax stamps anyway might as well.
I've lived in the freedom hating state of CA and never gotten a rifle before, what do you guys recommend i only really go target shooting so anything that looks good and is reliable works for me
A Ruger 10/22 or a Marlin 60 if you're on a budget. A Henry .22 lever-action carbine if you have a bit more money to spend.
>>34916292
I suggest deporting yourself to Mississippi
Wait, how does one even get assigned to a SAM equipped regiment in the army? Is there any particularly special training needed to serve at a SAM installation and to fire them at targets?
/k/ please. At least one of you knows something about this

Either that, or treating someone's twisted nut sack at 0400 because the army encouraged him to hide it until the very last moment.
Congrats. That's the contract I'm looking to get soon.
Will monitor closely.

Why is the AR-15 so much shittier than the AR-10? why did the army go with a pussy intermediate caliber instead of the whole fucking kaboodle??? What were they thinking?????
>>34915924
Heard there were a lot of performance issues with jamming and less boolet per magazine. Also a full giggle switch AR-10 would result is lots of friendly fucking as the recoil rips the muzzle up.

You're on /k/ you stupid faggot. There is only one option.
Duct tape bayonet to penis. Begin helicopter dick. Advance on enemy troops. Achieve victory.
