Why are most rifle's charging handles on the left side? Wouldn't it make more sense being on the right, I,E dominate hand side?

Just incase this isnt bait and you truly seek information, its so you can easily and quickly operate all fuctions of the rifle without your trigger hand ever leaving the grip. Look up quick reloads of an ak, where the charging handle is on the right side. The quickest way is not to use your trigger finger hand. Its quicker to reach under the rifle and rack the charging handle

Why aren't rifles made with the barrel properly in-line with the shooter's shoulder, so the recoil produces no torque and therefore no muzzle climb? The only problem I could see is that you might wind up with unacceptably tall sights, though I think you could solve that with some kind of periscope optic pretty easily given the ubiquitous nature of optics these days.
Or is this just not much of a problem in 2012+5 as most modern militaries now equip line infantrymen with a semi-automatic 5.56 weapon instead of an automatic 7.62 weapon?

Modern pistol-gripped automatics are in line with your shoulder. Old-fashioned comb-stock guns aren't, because the design predates the invention of a pistol grip on a rifle.

So this happened.

I watched an Iraqveteran8888 video a long time ago in which a visibly deformed and handicapped teenager or young adult appeared behind IV8888. I think it was one of his Mosin-Nagant videos. I have hunted for this video for years and have been unable to find it. I have also been unable to find any reference to the retarded brother/cousin/son in any YouTube comments section or forum. That retard is my Internet white whale. I've been searching for him for years (not exaggerating). About once every week, I go Google-sleuthing to see if I can find him. I've watched what feels like hundreds of hours of IV8888 videos just to find him.
Did I hallucinate and see a mentally handicapped, deformed kid looking over IV8888's shoulder? My brother tells me he saw him, too. We had a good laugh about that years ago.

What if, instead of tilting a pistols barrel down to unlock from its slide, you moved the slide down to unlock it from the barrel? See pic for what I mean. As the barrel moves back, the slide is moved down and unlocked. Seems like it'd have all the simplicity of a tilting barrel, with all the other advantages of a tilting locking block pistol.
