Hey /ic/, can we be a force for good for once?
For the past few days I have been working on a small project on pixelcanvas to make a "pi" symbol, but the cooldown is 7 minutes out here.
The coordinates are (31415, 31415) this is also the middle square.
I believe in you guys, reference is attached.

How can I report a business that sells these stick on door stickers for copyright infringement anonymously?
Send the original artists an email and let them pursue legal action if they want.
Hey /ic/, what do you think of the card I did for my friend?

Cute. Did you ask him out yet?
It says more about you that you somehow thought this was funny enough to share.
Explain to me what makes some paintings so inherently medicore?
The merc_wip valley of medicority, what gives it away?
>>3013776
Regurgitating things. Spacemarines. Anime. Blizzard aesthetic. SJW tumblr stuff. A lot of people who create things are very inbred with their ideas. Those who appear creative probably have other interests, which they incorporate into their art.
>>3013776
Novelty is inherent to entertainment. Failure to entertain while remaining technically sound is mediocrity.
>>3013776
> implying merc_wip is mediocre
Hi, lurkfer here. I've been around checking threads here now and then. I'm wondering how many of you anons really draw.
I've only some active ones who posts
>>3013079
- their artworks so it got me curious how many are in here.
Only seen*
>>3013079
Every day, but only post it on /ic/ every week/two weeks since the last thing you want to do on /ic/ is be known.
drawing ≠ posting
Where do you guys get pose references from, I know of quickposes and posemaniacs but is there something else ? like google but with better pictures basicly
>>3012778
google is already end game, use better search terms
>>3012781
any tips for search terms then, I want a guy to hold his arm out and hold it with the other, google isnt giving me anything
>>3012785
that is too vague to get a reference, could you upload a sketch?
Im 19 and want to be a mangaka. My plan is:
>start with being able to draw expressions
>Move onto full body poses
>Make very basic 2 panel comics
>Go up to 4 koma ones
>Publish first chapter of comic
>?????
>Become professional tier Mangaka
Im going to post all my work on twitter using hashtags and hopefully grow a fanbase. Im reading loomis, bridgman, and Bammes on the side for help.
Any suggestions to my plan you'd like to make /ic/ to help me reach my goal?
Im a bit panicky cause im starting college in 3 months and feel im too old to bother trying, but ive been trying to draw for 5 years now, and have failed numerous times with my social media getting no views at all.
Read the sticky and then kill yourself and reincarnate as a nip.

post contact information so i can stalk you
ahahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahaaha
So much of /ic/ is obsessed with
>pick an artist you look up to, and try to achieve his skill level one day
But, /ic/ is forgetting that this will take 10 years or never happen, so i propose a new set of thinking of ic: why not create a folder of art thats shittier than yours? You get a folder, put art you think is bad in it, draw a little, contemplate suicide over how shit YOU are, but then look at the shit folder to feel better about yourself and keep drawing.
Ive been adding art to the shit folder at least every 3 days, and ive noticed the art i add to the shit folder gets better and better, so its like im improving.
>>3011914
That's so unbelievably petty that I kind of approve of it.
>>pick an artist you look up to, and try to achieve his skill level one day
>But, /ic/ is forgetting that this will take 10 years or never happen
This is a retarded line of thinking that will lead to stagnation
Aim as high as you possibly can and if you fall short, you'll still be pretty damn good.
If you can't be motivated thinking like that then suck it up princess.
Motivation is a meme and discipline is all that matters.
>>3011914
Why not both?
When I'm feeling really shitty I usually redo some DA autist's piece to get an ego boost. That gives me enough energy to then tackle the hard stuff.
>why you should just click hide thread now(-):
i studied philosophy with a minor in religious studies and you know what? if f can appreciate malevoich's white square on white canvas then why not religious art for their enigmatism and purely aesthetic value?
art not made with an artistic intention can still be interpreted as such. Hence~!
>FOOTPRINT OF THE BUDDHA
said to be what is "imprinted" upon the world by every footstep taken by a/the Buddha.
You are supposed to kneel before the feet, not in submission, but having a kind of faithful closure and trust that the buddha knows perhaps more than thy. like bowing, which is taught to be done daily, even if it is just to world, teaches humility, shame and truer purpose.

stopped reading there

i cast my autism on you!

Is it okay to draw porn of copyrighted characters? Legally speaking how do I protect myself? I wanna doodle some Disney girls doing cute lewd girl things.

Do I go to art college or take a course in animation?
>>3014392
Animation es horrible cuz you'll work until you're dead, but you'll have an easier time finding a job. But if you go to a good (and most likely expensive) art school you can really succeed cuz there you can and have to make a good reputation and contacts to good works because of the exposure chances.
All of this is taking into account that you are really talented.
>>3014392
If you haven't been drawing all this time and hope to learn it in school, you're way behind.
>>3014392
You should try to ease yourself by practicing animation by yourself to see how you like it. Theres books you can download from >> 2999582 that can teach you the fundamentals of animation. It's important if you actually like doing the work if you want keep on doing this for your career. You don't have to go to art college if you have the skills to make it, but it will be more difficult. College (depending which one) do however lend a hand of starting a network with anyone within the industry that may help you get a job. CalArt (as notorious as we make fun of) does have a reputable way to break through the industry if you talk to the right people. Before you make any decision, ask yourself if this is really the thing you want to do.
How comes that there are not good sources from the buildings of ancient rome? No ruines, paintings of the forgotten glory of rome, they are hard to find.
1. Well there are ruins but yeah they are ruins.
2. The only painting they did was on walls, called frescoes. Most of the frescoes that remain intact are in Pompeii but not a lot of buildings were painted.
3. After the migrations and the fall of Rome most cities were neglected. Stones from Roman buildings were used for housing and churches and only after the medieval times a new interest in the ancient times was born.
Unfortunately the "glory of Rome" was allready in ruins.
>>3014268
There are plenty of Roman buildings still standing. Most of What Rome built was destroyed in war, or torn down to build on top of, it's like asking where all the original buildings in London are - some were preserved, most torn down to build something new.
We also have a vast record of Rome in carvings, reliefs, and pottery.

I was going to buy one of those wacom-alternatives but I'm worried if the accuracy and responsiveness are not as good as wacom's.
I'm between Xp-pen star 05 and huion Q11K. I was thinking about buying a second-hand intuos 3 but i'm not sure if it's still worth it.
Anyone here who had an intuos but is using now a cheap-alternative?
ya it's great, the cheaper the better
My mom had a painting done back in 2000, the guy lived in the attic of the place we lived. He also did sculptures and stuff. Is this a good piece?
>>3014099
Real Rembrandt you got there.
>>3014099
yeah it's not bad, not worth money if that's what you're asking
trash, no wonder he lived in stranger's attics
