Embedded sucks. You work with shit tools to build boring projects for shit pay (compared to other programming jobs). There are fewer jobs so it's harder to get one, and they tend to have higher requirements than other tech jobs (the "5 years experience for entry level" meme is real here). Also all your coworkers are ancient geezers. Don't fall for the meme. Just go into web dev, or data science.

No I'm not joking and this isn't a troll thread. Sure Jobs isn't a fucking messiah, but he's a can-do, go-getter, self-starter. That's what I find inspirational. He didn't give a fuck, he made things happen. He created a massively successful company and massively successful products; and yes he had some failures, like every business does (e.g. Zune, Windows 8 - clearly Apple isn't the only company to make fuck-ups).

Who gives a fuck? You're right, he wasn't a programmer. This differentiates him from Bill Gates, who was. Even Elon Musk wrote code as a kid. But who gives a fuck? Nerdy autistic programmers who resent his success? Those are the only people who give a shit from my experience.
The thing is it doesn't matter whether you're a programmer. Gates, Musk and Jobs did not develop careers as programmers. They all developed careers as ENTREPRENEURS. They started companies and ran them day-to-day.

Hey /g/, so I have a few months to do my bachelor's project/thesis for a european college information system course. Basically I've chosen a transport rental business management system, but fucking hell I've been busy as shit with full-time job and other cancers and basically need an easier way out. So can you help me decide which languages and frameworks would be good/simple enough for a simple prototype of such a system?
Basically everything has to be done via database/website interaction so that includes:
MySQL/PostgreSQL database
an at least a little bit interactive/responsive design website
Maybe some added capabilities like turning forms into PDF invoice mockups
I don't really have a prefered language as I'm pretty mediocre/basic at whatever i've had to work with.
So yeah, any clue what languages/frameworks I should go for to achieve a basic website like that? Like what sort of frameworks/languages go well for web - database interaction, etc?
It'd would just be a mediocre rental/e-shop system.

Unless it's Lagdroid, there is a lot less spying going on. Obviously the guberment can still spy on you no matter what but it's hardly the same as buying software that is made for data collection mainly. Besides, a smartphone is mostly a communication device, so it's given that it's easier to spy on it, while W10 turns your private computer into part of MS botnet.
