https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2017/04/garmin-sued-in-east-texas-over-patents-on-an-internet-drink-mixer-seeks-legal-fees/

>This February, Garmin International got sued (PDF) by inventor Leigh Rothschild and his patent-holding company, Rothschild Connected Devices Innovations LLC (RCDI). RCDI had already sued 68 other companies. A few weeks later, Rothschild's lawyer got in touch. He wasn't interested in discussing the technology behind his client's two patents, which describe making customized mixed beverages. Instead, he asked Garmin to get on board with Rothschild's "early settlement program," for a fast payout of $75,000.

For all you stupids that think CRT is higher quality

Sure, I'll allow you to think that. It's higher quality image. I'll allow that to be true...(even though its not)

But you fucking retards who seem to be paying so much attention to fine detail like scanlines and absolute blacks...

You supposed "stimulusphiles" completely forget that fucking CRTs get hot as shit and emit highly audible whine when they are on.

Couple other things. Theyre heavy and bulky as all fuck, limiting their placement. I've also heard arguments they have higher input lag not sure if thats true? (muh photon gun) but jesus fucking christ that whiney high pitched sound is a deal breaker. I'm glad those stupid screens have been replaced by oled

And absolutely lol:
>play the game on the screen it was designed for!
absolute lol on a million different levels.

If you like CRT because its interesting how their how their built and how they function, that is sweet, more power to you! Knowledge is fucking awesome and I applaud you for learning...but if you think they are give superior end result....GFY

When will all the current CRTs be dead? It was deliberately made to have short life so people would be forced to buy smart TVs.
>>
I never really cared much what kind of screen I'm using. Still using an LG 23" 1080p screen from 2009.
>>
>You supposed "stimulusphiles" completely forget that fucking CRTs get hot as shit and emit highly audible whine when they are on.
so, I have a CRT that I use as a fourth monitor because ayy why the fuck not I found it in my garage
mine doesn't do either of these. It gets a little warm but it's honestly not that bad at all. It doesn't make any noise, either.
>I've also heard arguments they have higher input lag not sure if thats true?
no, the exact opposite of that. That's why those smash bros autistic fucks use them.
>. I'm glad those stupid screens have been replaced by oled
yeah, I will be too, when OLED screens don't cost as much as twice my entire fucking gaming desktop

Hello /g/.Im currently raising funds to buy more and more studio equipment. My problem is that i record live instruments and I want something to eliminate the latency and get immediate responses when i record. What should I invest in?[pic related]

Honestly you'd probably better off heading to /mu/ for this as /g/ has pretty poor knowledge of this area, and mine's not great either.
You're probably going to want a windows PC, as most DAWs aren't available on linux. A good audio interface is essential, as well a solid processor. That's basically all you need, don't fall for any of the meme equipment that can cost hundreds without really providing much.
>>
Google ASIO
Avoid /mu/, they're not even fans of music let alone producers of it
>>
>>59936939
>ASIO
but that's shit

OP, buy an interface. Just don't get a meme one like 2i2.>>59936939

Firefox is killing their developer edition aka aurora starting with 53 this wednesday, meaning that only stable, beta, and nightly will remain. If you like using developer edition, they'll release a special edition of firefox beta will all the features of developer edition.

>>
ricing your wm doesn't make you a developer, anon
>>
>>59934111
You don't need to be a developer to use aurora, you don't have to deal with stuff like mandatory extension signing and it's generally more stable and less buggy than nightly.

Winding down to save resources.

Well, it's not like their user base loss is out of the blue. The stiff developers, the browser and the support are really horrid, so what did you expect?

why can't open source software match paint.net's features or ease of use

if it was made by a big company you would have an excuse

but it's fucking freeware maintained by students

>The Debian Project is concerned to hear that one of our members, Dmitry Bogatov, has been arrested by Russian authorities.

>Dmitry is a mathematics teacher, and an active Debian contributor. As a Debian Maintainer, he worked in the Debian Haskell group and currently maintains several packages for command line and system tools.

>We await further details of the case against him, but hope that he receives fair treatment and due process.

>In the meantime, the Debian Project has taken measures to secure its systems by removing Dmitry's keys in the case that they are compromised.
