Name a better Linux machine. Protip: You can't.
>PowerPC architecture. That means the NSA couldn't backdoor it even if they wanted to
>Modest amount of RAM means you won't be distracted from important things
>Brings a whole new meaning to "Linux gaming"
>Compact form factor reminiscent of the legendary Mac Mini, but without macfaggotry
>Has modern amenities like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
>Quiet as a fly. No retarded fan to distract you from programming
>Keeps the electric bill low

I've tried this, but ti was nothing more than a cute shitposting machine. I give it a 6/10 because it was comfy, but also useless and only was worth so much of my time.
You can run GNU/Linux on this?
I guess I've got a summer project to do.
>>59936845
It's more like a weekend project, it's easier than you'd think. google gc-linux

Genuinely funny. I've actually seen some webpages that look like they are void of any CSS that look as terrifyingly complex as FB.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but these pages are dynamically generated.
So it's not meant to be read by humans.

Did I fuck up?
I don't see how. Motorola makes great midrange phones
Not at all. It's really good for the price.

Just to add... work PC and I get payment transfer notices all the time as part of my job.
MX-4 thermal paste damaged one of the contact heatpipes on my 212+
used a new tube of the mx-4, pretty sure there was some weird watery substance. (noticed it happened with the last tube i used, both its first use and after not using it for a very long time i noticed the watery liquid substance again, then with the new tube upon the first use it was there again).
after pushing a crappy athlon II @ 1.7v (it still didn't overheat lol) i swapped the crappy athlon out, and noticed a spot on the cpu where there was no thermal paste (whereas the rest of it had spread evenly around the rest of the cpu, that one spot on the corner was empty) while one of the heatpipes on my cm212+ is now dented (pic related).
will arctic reimburse me for my damaged 212?
will coolermaster help even though it's years past its warranty?
whatdo?
How the fuck did thermal paste dent the copper?
There was probably a fucking cheeto in the way and you just caveman'd the fucking thing into place.

nother picturr
>>59936218
liquid substance heats up
liquid substance becomes gas
heated gas expands and has no way out and applies substantial pressure to area
the weakest point of contact then gives way to said pressure
thus le copper is dented
Help me, /g/
Does anyone know how, or if you can recover files from a memory card that got deleted while it was connected to a computer?
I was copying some photos from my camera onto my pc to make room for new ones, but the memory card was cleared before all of the pictures got transferred, so some of them are missing now.
Is there any hope of ever seeing them again?
>>59936041
sorry dude but no. They're gone for good.

Got these a year and a half ago, best purchase ever made.
Sony MDR-EX10. Found them on the shelf, bought by previous home owner. The sound is pretty neutral actully, even though they are gay blue.

Guys what's the best ~$100 camera?
Go on CSG and ask.
>>59935845
A phone.
ask /p/ you clown, something like a used canon S95 would be my guess
Tech wizards, guide me.
How would one go on about switching on a Osborne 1 after who know how long of gone unused.
As far as I know, it uses a switching power supply? So a Variac is out of the question I guess.
But if the capacitors are in good condition, there shouldn't be a problem with firing it straight up anyways?
Shameful self bump.
bumping for interest

You should probably give it to a museum or something, they know how to deal with those things
You said it couldn't be done /g/, but someone did it.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a cheap-ish set of bookshelf speakers?
The Debut B5's are supposedly amazing at about 320USD, but I've seen some criticisms recently that are putting me off.
since cheapish hifi speakers usually don't really follow any standards in terms of linearity, directivity, distortion and the measurements (if they exist) are usually incomplete as fuck the main criteria when buying should be: do you like them
so go to a store, compare different stuff, and take home the ones you like best

I brought those recently
sound very nice
Should I go back to school to study EE?
I did a CS bachelor and I'm only 21 but I feel bad because my whole job basically depends on the work of EEs and without them 99% of my knowledge is absolutely useless.
I also feel like it's a lot easier for an EE to simply learn programming than it is for a programmer to get into serious EE stuff.
It might be another 3 years in school but if I don't do it now I might regret it in 20 years time

Steve Jobs Apple happened.
He gave Sony a chance to use OS X on their Vaios. They refused.
iPod was a kick in the teeth to them.
iPhone was another kick in the teeth.
Samsung is the curb stomp, they are everything Sony were but slightly cheaper.
