I unironically want a Thinkpad. What is the best one?
Is 2017 Thinkpad X1 Carbon a meme? How about 2017 Thinkpad X1 Yoga?

>decide to install a great app which windows find for me instead of winrar
>open file with 4.5 star app
>it has an ad for another app which opens .rar files
>can't see any files
>extract (slowly)
>error message telling me I need a password or something
>install winrar
So... what does /g/ think of the revolutionary windows apps?
>>59926031
windows 10 is fucking cancer and we would all be alot more free if their headquarters got swallowed into hell where they belong
>>59926031
It's cancer, like everything else Microsoft has pushed for since their inception. Windows 7 was the last thing they made that was actually usable.
Only time I ever had exposure to it was when someone recommended the sonicwall netextender client in the windows app store as I was having problems with the latest version I downloaded myself.
The version on the app store was fucking decrepit and obviously didn't even try to work any better
>le last word face
>255 characters max for a filename
>even less if not ascii
Wew. This is the pinnacle of fucking filesystems on Linux.
>>59925978
why the fuck would you ever give a file name longer than 50 characters?
it's just not practical

You don't even own the fucking thing, poorfag
Why do people say programming is hard? It's easy as fuck, basically paint by numbers. You don't need any math and any advanced algo you'd need is already made.
It's not. That's why 6 month bootcamps are replacing 4 year CS degrees. People are finally waking up.
>>59925584
>4 year CS degree being equivalent to some dipshit writing things in python
try and survive in a job that isn't web portfolios and wordpress themes
Thoughts on this meme?

Still nobody could make so good autocomplete, refactoring and analysis code.

>>59925434
I like RubyMine. I have to use it at work because there are some company standards that would be annoying to replicate in vim.
But all of the functionality CAN be replicated with vim.
What is the best open source music player for android?
>>59925356
You shouldn't give a shit about if it's open or not.
Just install PowerAMP and be fucking happy that it works fucking well and have folder view which almost every other player are too scared to use.
Pi music player is good if your share music often

If you're so smart how come you aren't working for Google?

>>59925071
I honestly almost got a job offer at Google (did a good impression at the on-site interviews), but they wanted me to relocate from Norway to either Ireland or Zurich, and neither were anywhere close to acceptable to me.
>>59925071
I work for SpaceX
>>59925111
You fucked up hard time. Do you even realize how much money you can earn in Zurich, especially working for Google?
Unless you don't give a shit about money I guess, but Switzerland is a pretty nice country in general, save for ridiculously high costs of everything.
>only one open-source product (FreeCAD) in top 15
>only three products have free-tier (Fusion 360, SketchUp, OnShape)
Why is the CAD market so shit?
CAD is generally a fucking shitshow how badly it runs, almost as bad as SAP software
why isn't Catia v5 on here?

then you, good sir, have never used unigraphics nx.
insane expensive, but basically perfect. if you want to know if it can do something, the answer is yes.
Is Haskell's ungodly bestiary of string types a problem in everyday programming? What annoyances do you often encounter in Haskell?

Trying to find a real-life usecase for zygohistomorphic prepromorphisms.

Having to deal with 1 GB/s of immediately garbage collected data every time I pass a list.

>>59923539
always stick with LTS releases until the .2 or .3 release of the next LTS. it's the perfect upgrade route for ubuntu.
>>59923586
Thanks. It just sucks that they don't upgrade their repositories more often, because I had to upgrade codeblocks and Lua manually.
