Why don't modern IDEs look this good?
There was something just spot on about the look of visual studio .net. Of course, they fucked it up in the next release by adding gradients.
>>60258047
We need windows 2000 again
netbeans still has that look though
>>60258047
IDE is dead! Switch to SATA already.
i got this stereo receiver from my uncle a while back, finally got around to hooking it up today. problem is no noise comes from it, i know the speakers are good and it lights up and stuff, I think the problem is that there's a battery compartment on the back for 3 AAs and the batteries in it were from the 80s.
Why would something like this even have a battery compartment though? I checked google and can't find anything on it.
>>60257981
that was probably for the station memory or built in clock if there is any.
shouldn't cause the issue with no sound though.
>>60257981
You need to push the "speakers A" or "speakers B" button depending on how you connected them. Classic. Mother-in-law had same issue, never even tried it or looked at the input/output labeling before I got there.
>>60258065
interesting... i guess ill have to take it apart and try to figure out why theres no sound
What is preferable? An oem case with little fans and no cable management or a riced out case that supports lots of fans?
I want to downsize and was thinking of using pic related.
>>60257876
And this is what the inside kinda looks like. Only has one 80mm back fan and the cpu cone thingy.
This is my current case. Metal is paper thin but has 6 120mm fans.
>>60257876
>using a case
Alright /g/, need some labels.
Do your best.
>>60257871
first row: loonix, windows
second row: some other loonix, mac
what do I win?
Clockwise: mac, windows, gentoo, ubuntu

I am trying to rebuild viber.apk
$ apktool d -s -r
$ apktool b
$ jarsigner
$ zipalign
The resulting apk can be installed and runned but can't connect to viber services.
Any thoughts?
kys with a brick
>>60257618
Why though? What's the point? It cant connect because I guess it checks if the code matches.
>>60257783
Fuck off retard literally every thread is someone saying kys just fuck off /g/

So where is RX490? Did they just completely skip over it in favor of RX590? Why the fuck is AMD's naming scheme so weird?
>>60257335
>RX490
>RX590
never, ever. we vega now. well, not now now, but when they release them
Because the *90 cards are top end cards. Polaris topped off at mid-end. There was no 490 because AMD never made a high end 400 series card. Is this confusing?
>>60257387
Vega is just the architecture code name like Polaris or Fiji.
So far we dont really know what AMD's plans for naming schemes is.
It is however stupid that they refreshed polaris to make room for a new GPU architecture which will fit into the 500s lineup in such a way that would have worked with the 400s as well and we're STILL waiting for it.
They could have just thrown the 500 series out as the currently inexplicably unused X series cards and just had a 480X, 470X, etc. but they chose not to do that and it's kind of dumb.
Hello /g/.
Anyone here using (or used) PCLinuxOS? I've seen many people drop good reviews for it on DistroWatch.
Is it any good? How many packages does it have and how can you get more of them (ppa, extra repos, .deb files?). Also, how will not having Systemd affect my daily usage?
Remember trying to boot it from a live USB a few years back with no success. As an Arch user, should I bother trying again?
Bump for interest
>>60257318
I tried it out a couple of weeks ago. Installed and worked without a hitch.
Can look a little rough round the edges but it's no worse than other more popular distros.
who came up with that stupid name?
Samsung S8+ or Huawei Mate 9?
From what I gathered.
S8+:
> Overall better specs
> Faster
> Waterproof
Huawei Mate 9:
> Has dual-zoom - but not really. It's just "magic", while the iPhone 7 uses hardware zoom.
> Faster charging
> More juice (4k mAh)
> Can be fixed (!!!). The s8+ is hot_glue.png while the Mate 9 can be simply unscrewed then disassembled with a suction cup.
I realize the battery will work for 2 years but I still use an S3 and you know, they just work. Only had to throw away one phone, an M7 because the battery is so fucking hard to replace.
Has anyone done an official Samsung battery replacement on the S6 or S7?
> Why not LG
I loved LG. I rooted for LG, I used LG.
G2, G3, G Pro 2, G4, even the G5 were all fucking great phones.
But then LG just goes "just fuck my shit up", and decides to limit V10/V20 market. Decides to throw everyone in the trash by releasing a sub-flagship specced, heavily overpriced piece of trash called G6.
> Why not Moto
There is some Moto in the shop but it has some shit specs. And I don't really trust support/updates. I know, there was this cheap one that /g/ hyped and shilled, but this is a fuckton more expensive.
> Why not Blackberrry
The KEYOne would be amazing, but they fucked up the specs. Want to have a great idea ruined by hardware? Just ask Blackberry engineers to come up with something.
> Why not OnePlus
Cobbled together XDA like shit OS / no support and warranty whatsoever.
>>60257297
huawei
>>60257297
Just buy the S7. Its' prices are great now and it's still a great phone.
Name a better graphics card.
Hint: you can't
>>60257248
GTX 1060
>>60257287
this
>>60257287
Yeah, only for old games that a RX 480 can already run fine at uktra/60fps (^:
Enjoy your update winfags. Your computer no longer belongs to you.
Works fine on my machine. Feels good to use LTSB.
>>60257242

Is that the windows 10 version of embedded systems?
>>60257242
A brokh! The goyim have evaded us again!
Things Windows can do that your average Linux distribution can't do without significant tinkering and/or dropping down into the command line:
* decent font rendering
* have drivers for new hardware and certain brands known to be problematic, such as BroadCom
* support signed drivers to prevent tampering
* support signed chain from UEFI to the kernel (UEFI SecureBoot)
* support signed application binaries
* run .NET applications (inb4 Mono, to which I say: WPF support)
* run UWP applications from the Store
* use hybrid boot for faster booting
* install automatic and invisible security patching in the background
* provide group policies for easy management of what computers can and cannot do
* integrate with an Active Directory to provision group policies across all Windows boxes in a network
* painless three-click setup of hard drive encryption through BitLocker
So, tell me, why are Linuxlets still refusing to use Windows on their desktop?
>Windows works great with its own features
kys
* BSOD
>>60257075
Well gee i had no idea that windows would run great with things that were made FOR IT and make it harder to install other OSes.
It's like saying macs are better because they have native dmg support with no hassles
Oh and btw secureboot was confirmed insecure last year since the master key got leaked
Why no one has invented some kind of OS that runs video games and has no telemetry?
>>60257065
install gentoo
install steam
>>60257106
gento is too complicated for me
>>60257065
What you're describing is an OS built from the ground up to be compatible with Windows applications without using any Windows source code. This is an incredibly difficult task, ReactOS has been in development for over a decade.
Why do people pretend to not understand the Monty hall problem?
>>60257010
>>>/sci/ you brainlet
They're not pretending; the problem is unintuitive, and there's a fuckload of people who suck at statistics.
I think if you take it to the extreme (a million doors, eliminate all doors but two) it becomes very obvious to people. And from that example they can infer the 3 door case.
