So I just tried watching a 4k video with my 5300u laptop, and it's just sitting at 100% cpu and studdering.
Why is Intel so fucking shit like OMG.
Currently using my x220 flawlessly at 60% cpu, no issues, but 1080 vs 768...

Isopod!
For some reason Japanese think they're really cute.
...and so I bought a Japanese isopod plushie.

>Go blows away Node in pretty much every way IMO. You get all the niceties of blocking code without actually blocking, you get (relatively) tiny binaries that you can deploy anywhere with ease and no fuss, instead of 250mb of node_modules that everyone comes up with hacks to work around. You get a very strong stdlib to stop re-inventing stuff (poorly in many cases), a rich selection of 3rd-party packages from a community of seasoned engineers, incredible tooling for debugging, profiling, monitoring and so on. You get normalized code that looks the same no matter who in the community wrote it, auto-generated documentation, a built-in test framework, built-in benchmarking, static typing and all of the benefits that go along with that, less fragmentation (concurrency models etc), the list goes on.
>JavaScript will have an edge due to the browser, but even that won’t last forever with WebAssembly coming online, then it will really be down to personal preference. JavaScript is nothing special in terms of language features, so I don’t expect it to “win” long-term, the object model is pretty nice but there are many other great options. Personally my biggest mistake was not giving it an honest try earlier, I felt it was ugly but the look grows on you, and it’s incredibly easy to read which is hard to say about most other languages.
>Also Lambda and friends don’t just sandbox using V8, they use containers just like they do for Ruby, Java, and the others, so there’s no real benefit to JavaScript in particular there. Plus when you can deploy a Go binary in 1 or 2 seconds it feels plenty “first class”.
some reply in a blog. is Go the future of web back-end?
>>60255019
i'll just stick to python, thanks.

>the nsa cant turn on your webcam if there's no drivers for your webcam installed
beat my logic, /g/
>>60255000
they can sandbox their own drivers and run the usb debug code through their sandbox and then interpret it
>>60255000
if the nsa already has access to my machine, can't they just surreptitiously install drivers for the webcam?
Or just not have a fucking webcam you retards
Im planning on getting a new phone soon. should i get the lg v20 or lg g6 if i go LG? should i go samsung and get the S8/S8+ or wait for the note 8 to release?
note: ive wanted the LG v20 for a while but with sprint i see that the price for the lg g6 is now cut in half at $15 a month. i think the LG V20 is better than the g6. and the s8/s8+ is just gorgeous but i feel that if i want the real experience i shold go note 8. should i save u for the more expensive phones, or just go ahead and get the cheapest of the bunch?
iPhone imo
I would go for the V20, mainly because of the removable battery. If you really care about the SoC then go for the G6 or S8.

Hello my friends. I have just update chrome beta on ubuntu and now it uses shitty nautilus to select files for file upload such as posting nice pics on 4chan. Does anyone know how I can change it back to using nautilus instead?

Torguard. You can pay with gift cards, no credit card needed. I pay 30$ a year for torguard. Because i used the promocode: TGLifetime50.

google for streisand. set up your own vpn for $5 a month and no logs.
I've got a ryzen 5 1600 in the mail, expecting it to show up next week. Already have new mobo ram and a new case. Anyone else jumping on the ryzen wagon? Think the 1600 will do good with my gtx 1060?
>>60254757
Wish I could jump on now, but I'm broke. Will definitely be looking at it next year.
>>60254757
I jumped on it in March. Got an r7 1700. First day once I got everything in I put it to 3.8ghz just to be safe and left it there ever since. Haven't tried to go higher. Don't think I'll need to upgrade for at least a couple years.
>>60254757
I have the 1700X at 4.0ghz for almost 2 months m8

Surely someone has modded up some real security for it.
Microshit broke dx9 VRAM limit on Windows 8 and 10 so now I gotta reinstall 7.

shouldn't really affect you unless you're modding bethesda games. In which case you should cease your degeneracy.

Friendly reminder not to reply to the D language shitposter, they are the same person who spams that illya mac desktop all day.
They will also reply to you the same way, do not talk to him.

You can always just use ec2 instances, but there's plenty of other cool shit you can do with just a cpu:
Some ideas, from easiest to hardest:
>linear regression on orchid dataset
>implement a 2 layer percepton in numpy, make it learn xor
>Implement a recurrent neural net and backprop through time from scratch in numpy, train it to sum a sequence or predict the next fibonacci number
>Same thing, but with a LSTM cell
>implement backwards+forwards pass of a convolutional layer, dropout and batch normalization
>Deep Q learning in a simple environment like openai gym's cartpole or swing-up
If you do this you will be more competent than ~95% of the plebs I see applying for machine learning internships
>>60255294

that costs money
