i got this stereo receiver from my uncle a while back, finally got around to hooking it up today. problem is no noise comes from it, i know the speakers are good and it lights up and stuff, I think the problem is that there's a battery compartment on the back for 3 AAs and the batteries in it were from the 80s.
Why would something like this even have a battery compartment though? I checked google and can't find anything on it.

that was probably for the station memory or built in clock if there is any.
shouldn't cause the issue with no sound though.

You need to push the "speakers A" or "speakers B" button depending on how you connected them. Classic. Mother-in-law had same issue, never even tried it or looked at the input/output labeling before I got there.

Because almost everyone had access to the same tech so you had to set yourself apart with design.

Check the fuses. You may need to open the unit to get to them.
