Because the actual task of finding a job is insane. ON average., you will get seven calls back for every 100 jobs you apply for, assuming you are qualified.

I am not joking when I say that applying for a job is literally a lottery, because so many other retards are just as capable of applying online as you are. I have asked HR people form my graduating class. If they are qualified, they literally draw them out of a hat for interviews/ use a computer randomizer.

The only way you are getting into a job with any higher level of success is if you start networking, which you won't because that takes time and we're all busy. Elevator pitches are a joke nobody wants to hear. I really like fish, especially its autocompletion features but sometimes I wish it was a bit more lightweight. I also hate how it handles env vars.
