Swimming is great, depending on what it is you're trying to do. Long term it's really healthy because there isn't any artificial pressure to eventually wear your body out (also a reason swimming is great when you're recovering from a physical issue)

I am 19 year old who does not move. just by young age i am not fat yet although my stomach has a overhang when i sit down. i just want to get more stamina and prevent myself from becoming a fat lonely neckbeard. i figured swimming is the best thing because i can do it for hours where as many other sports will wear me out in a matter of minutes.
It will get you fit but I wouldn't call it fun. It's one of the loneliest sports out there and that makes it very easy to get demotivated from it.
water polo, surfing and diving are some aquatic sports that have more team activity/socialisation in them.

How much do you actually have to eat to put on muscle? It seems that everywhere I go, all I hear is conflicting advice. Several sources say you only need a small surplus of around 150 calories, yet people like Mark Rippetoe and Alan Thrall say you need a shit load more than that. What's the best option? I've never had optimal results with bulking before, but I also wasn't sleeping as much as I should have been.

I'm a 42yr old guy who has lost 20lbs by eating better and doing HIIT 4-5x per week. I've finally got a flat stomach, and my shoulders & traps are coming along nicely. The one issue I have is that while in normal posture, I have the slightest remnants of manboobs that I had 20 lbs ago. I want to tighten this up.

With body weight exercises for people obsessed with mass you need to do go to failure take half a second rest, go to failure, half second rest failure.
Repeat that
Because it's light weight, high reps, you need to exhaust the slow and medium twitch fibres, once that happens you use maximal strength fibres. You'll feel weird as fuck squatting your own bodyweight and struggling like you have 500 kg on your back - but you get used to it.
