This thread is about animals we thought died out but are still alive.
Is it possible that dinosaurs are still alive but nobody's ever seen one because theyve always been in a different place from wherever people were looking?
And then one day they'll come into the cities and we'll all notice dinosaurs everywhere?

>dinosaurs never got extinct?
the majority of them did

>Is it possible that dinosaurs are still alive but nobody's ever seen one because theyve always been in a different place from wherever people were looking?
yes it may be. there's lots of zones where undiscovered animals of considerable size could inhabit.
And then one day they'll come into the cities and we'll all notice dinosaurs everywhere?
no this will never happen unless some of them become skilled scavengers adapted to urban ecosystems

or maybe when we go into the jungles outside the cities we just haven't been looking in the right places
I've grown up with dogs but never had one since I moved out of my folk's place. My friend who works at the local SPCA sent me this pic of a dog they got surrendered and I fell in love, Poms are my favorite. But I'm a student and work full time so idk if I'm really ready to take on a dog. he's a year and a half old but apparently has two retained baby teeth that need to be removed so it'll be a week or two for me to figure it out but I really am having a hard time making the call. help?
>student and work full time
What's the point of getting a pet you will never spend any time with?

>What's the point of getting a pet you will never spend any time with?
This uhhm, unless you can get one that is like 8-10+ y/o and happy sleeping all day and seeing you for like 1-2 hours a day before bed, then theyre gonna be alone from the beginning. Likely bummed out and poorly socialized and bored.

What is your current schedule like?
What is your financial situation like?
How long will you continue to be a student?
What is your expected career once you're no longer a student?
How much support do you have from friends/family who would be able to take care of the dog for a few days/a weekend here and there?
>own an old farm in very rural area
>keep live traps out all the time just because
>always catching god damn cats
>I fucking hate cats
>just start shooting the fuckers
>mfw shooting cats with my deer rifle
>cat lovers get bent
>keep live traps out all the time just because
That's pathologically sadist of you

My dog won't eat his dry food and will resist eating dry food for days at a time. How long can dogs go without eating?
until they die

when you sleep and dream what animals do you encounter in your dreams? i often herp in dreams and sometimes my camera turns out to be discharged and it is sort of a nightmare for me
A couple days ago I dreamed of a HUGE, friendly and wonderfully fluffy dog (bear size) that laid next to me and warmed me. Then I stopped feeling freezing cold.
In the morning I noticed the window was open and it was getting really fucking cold over night.
I get attacked by a big black dog most of the time. I even killed it once but I still sometimes dream of it, it has been going on for like 4 years.
I still can't get what it means since I'm pretty cool with dogs, especially stray ones.

I'm an /aq/fag so I have recurring nightmares about fish.
They usually focus on me owning a huge tank or an aquarium park, and all the fish dying and then floating bloated on the surface while the water turns into a rancid soup of rotten fish. Usually towards the end of the dream I'm submerged into the tank and the rotten fish water enters my nose and mouth. I can always taste it and smell it. I wake up in terror.
It's probably anxiety because my fish mean more to me than my friends and I'm terrified of killing them by accident.
So, what makes a raptor a raptor? What makes, say, a hornbill, not a raptor? They have talons, they have good eyesight, they fly about as fast as an owl, they eat meat (and fruit, which burrowing owls do eat), and their call is pretty loud. So why are they not raptors? Why are marabou storks not raptors? What about sea birds that also hunt small land animals?
>>2470325
the shape of their bodies and beaks for one
>>2470421
What about secretaries, vultures, and condors? They certainly don't look like "traditional" raptors, yet they are classified as such.
>>2470608
a vulture with feathers on its face doesn't look very different at all from another raptor
the basic definition is a bird with good binocular eyesight that it uses to track prey, powerful hooked talons and a curved beak for tearing flesh. Storks and the like are excluded because of the lack of talons and curved beaks. But "raptor" isn't an actual taxonomic classification, and how they're all ordered depends on who you ask.
My dog has a similar thing to pic related (a benign tumour), he's getting old (about 12).
It doesn't seem to be causing him any problems, he doesn't scratch it and it doesn't look infected or anything.
I was wondering if any of you have or had a dog with the same thing and at what point should i go to a vet.
It seems like a simple enough procedure, they just cut it off and freeze the spot but vets are pretty costly and if it's just for looks i'll not worry about it.
Yes you probably should go to a vet.
And this is why you find a vet you trust. If it is benign, a good vet will be honest with you and not force the procedure on you if it really isn't necessary.
>>2470244
he's only needed to go to a vet once before, he had a tooth that got infected
i took him to the one with the best ratings
it cost a bit more than other ones apparently (i asked my auntie what the normal rate is) and i couldn't bulk bill (like lay-buy) but they seemed ok.
thanks, i've seen other dogs have them for years but he's a good boy and deserves the best i can do.
>>2470242
Let sleeping dogs lie
If it causes him no pain or irritation, there is no need to have it removed. But do keep an eye on it, if it changed in size or causes him discomfort, consult a vet
If you were a male dog would you fuck this bitch?
she looks like a dyke, pass
Well she's been fucked by many males. Pic related

hey burgers can you catch lizards or salamanders to take them into terrarium legally without licences and permissions?
As far as I know even picking up bones of some species is a federal offence in Burgerland.

As long as you're not literally boasting about doing it on social media it's all good.

/an/ I need your help, I adopted a kitten but the guy gave me a very young kitten, said he still drinks milk and just started walking. So in short:
>what do
>what do i feed him (no access to cat milk)
>how often do i feed him
>does the kitten need help with going to the bathroom?
>how can i make him confortable with me?
He has been asleep most of the day, but now its meowing quite dramaticly. I was ready to adopt a bit older cat, but now I'm at a lose here, I'll try to get him whatever it needs but right now I need to know how to feed him.
(Pic related, that's the kitteh)
>>2468035
I can't tell how old your kitten is but:
Don't give him cow's milk.
Give him wet cat/kitten food.
Feed him every couple of hours, gauge how much food by how much he eats each time.
For bathroom, rub his butthole and penis with a warm wet paper towel.
He looks to be about 2 and a half weeks old. You should be feeding him as much as he wants, no longer than 3-4 hours apart. You can buy kitten milk at a petstore, I'd recommend getting the powder rather than the cans. Rub his butt with a warm damp wash cloth to stimulate his anus so he can poop, kittens can get very constipated.
Cow's milk will not work. If you feel you can't take care of him, turn him over to a shelter. Kittens are a around the clock job at that age.
>>2468046
I'd also recommend getting a bottle, but if not a dropper will also work. When you get a bottle, use a pair or scissors to cut a X on the tip of the nipple. It takes tweaking, but you want it to leak slightly when you turn it upside down.
If you feel like the kitten isn't getting enough nutrition, you can add a couple drops of karo syrup into the milk. And if you feel like his stool is too loose, you can add a couple drops of Pedialyte in it too.
If the kitten gets too dirty, you can wash him with a damp warm wash cloth or use UNSCENTED baby wipes.
I declawed my cat
