I have a reservation down on a pup due in November from a breeder. She has a current litter that now has one pup without a buyer, because someone withdrew.
Two of the pups have overbites, both reportedly not visible unless you pull their lips up, but one will need its lower teeth "shaved".
Does anyone know anything about the prognosis and costs of overbites in dogs? Should I skip this breeder altogether?

Shit. I meant to add she's asking me if I want this unclaimed puppy.

I wouldn't support the breeding of malformed dogs
What is a type of bug that
-appear indoors
-has worm-like larvae
-leave strings or webs
-gather in a group or nest of hundreds up on the ceiling
i don't know but they infested my high school way back when
Probably a brown recluse.
I think they might be young tent caterpillars. They turn into moths and are social, they work together communally to make big "tents" of silk.
They might have sneaked in due to preferring the temperature.
yo, what is this?
if you cant see it (dont blame you) its a small black worm, not an inch long, and ive got a dozen, maybe more living under my sink
Run away, stupid!!!! Run out of that place and cut off your balls then with blunt knife.
>>2471677
what are they?
i will neither flee nor kill til i get a positive id

Scoop a few up and take a better pic. I don't see anything in this pic.
Hello /an/, it's me again.
I'm thinking about what kind of filters I should use for this tank.
I plan having sand as a substrate and some corydoras. Probably a gurami.
Any suggestions for fishes, aquascaping, etc?

i need a guard dog that can keep the house safe but obviously not attack people who are friends or family
what is the best breed for this
>pick one
>>2471580
then the best thing for you is to have a loud yappy watchdog, and for you to have a gun.
A Pomeranian or Maltese fulfills this role amazingly

>Maltese
Fuck I hate these noisy shits. Any intruders would probably kill themselves to make it stop.
A few months ago a strange dog appeared at my house out of nowhere, a black female (not sure what breed). We figured it wouldn't be a big deal, we already havd another dog. My dad named her Betty because he liked calling her Black Betty. Yesterday she became very sick and was throwing up a lot. At about 6PM today she died. She popped into my life so suddenly, without rhyme or reason and left much the same. I'm gonna miss her. Hold me, /an/
Whoa black betty ((bambalam))
She really gets me high ((bambalam))
Then she fucking died ((bamBALAMMM))

replace with another dog
so you didn't take her to the vet?
I wanna raise a puppy so badly. But my apartment is small af, I work 8 hours a day and next year I'll start studying so I'll be away even longer. That means I won't be able to have a dog for at least 5 years. I'm gonna be 28 by then. I feel like I'm wasting time but I don't wanna mess up my dog.
How do you cope with this feeling of not being able to have one?
I have a cat but it's not the same. I've had "family" dogs but never raised and trained my own dog.

>I have a cat but it's not the same.
Well duh, dogs are capable of love and compassion.
>>2471490
There will still be plenty of dogs when you're 28. No reason to grab one now.
>How do you cope with this feeling of not being able to have one?
I couldn't. I got one and he was miserable. I did my best by him but I know he was unhappy. Worst of all my stepmom passed and I had to take the family dog. Had two 50 lb dogs in a 1 bedroom apartment. Best I could do were 2 walks a day and a monthy hiking trip. Now I am 27, own 4 acres on a country road, work from home and have plenty of time to invest in my pooches. In fact I got 3 more since I've moved. The family dog is too old to do anything though now. His youth and energy was wasted away in that apartment. My shep mix is 9, and while he is still very active we can't go on intense hiking trips like we used to if we plan on bringing him. Although they're both very happy dogs, they deserved far better than I was able to provide them at that time and I was not mature enough to see it. If you honestly want to raise a puppy and give it a good life you should wait. Visit friends with dogs or go to petsmart and pet strangers dogs to get your fix. My 3 newer dogs are loving life. We run daily, go kayaking, hiking, "hunting" (no guns or bows, just tracking small game and letting the dogs kill it), and showing off at the dog parks. If you are really big on having a dog you should give it a life it deserves, right now you are not able to do that.
My friend's dad got this lizard from New Mexico but he doesn't know what kind it is, any ideas?

either inornatus or neomexicanus
Whiptail
Whenever I try searching for pigs or piglets, I always get results for the MICRO-pigs, which I actually find kind of ugly. I'm looking for baby pigs that you'd find on a farm...Is there a better way I can search that distinguishes them from micro-pigs?
I honestly mate micro-pigs, they are not cure. Actual piglets, that is, those from a pig on a farm, are much cuter.

Here's an advanced searching tip. If the phrase you're looking up has too many unwanted synonyms, try translating the phrase into a different language then looking it up.
Here's the word for piglet in Chinese that you can look up on YouTube: 仔豬

I work on such a farm, but I don't have many pictures I'm afraid.
Behold the common rat.
Who in their right mind would choose such a hideous animal to keep as a pet?
He's beautiful on the inside.
and this is a vulture
Rats are highly intelligent, unlike OP
Was thinking of moving to Connecticut in the future. The cost of living is way better than where we are now and we have some old family there to be close to.
Only thing is, I just found out it's full of fleas/ticks and is pretty much the place to be for lyme. I live where there are so few fleas that people think our state doesn't have any at all, and ticks aren't a problem if you don't go into the woods May-October.
Are there any New England anons up there that can tell me about how they deal with fleas and ticks? Is it just a fact of life that your dog is guaranteed to have them at all times, or can you reduce their presence to zero if you treat your dog with a topical medication and spray your yard?
Bump
We're a very outdoorsy family and we hike a lot, but if I can get away with just spraying the yard and medicating my dog and just sticking to more urban areas, I'll take it. I really don't want to fuck around with Lyme.
I'm looking forward to moving to Connecticut in the future but if my dog's going to have a shit time after living in Colorado, I'll rethink it.
I'm from ct myself. If you're going outside anywhere but a sidewalk you're going to get a tick. As far as for pets any reliable flea and tick med or collar is fine.
>>2471554
Do flea meds actually work (zero incidents of fleas and ticks) or are the fleas and ticks becoming resistant up there? I also heard my brand of heartworm med (heartgard) isn't as effective in areas that actually have lots of mosquitoes as they're also becoming resistant to its active ingredient
Can you explain to me why you don't love gibbons, you stupid asshole?
Do they have large hairless red bums like baboons? If not then I'm not going to love them, sorry.
You're mistaken. I quite like them, enough that I have a favorite species instead of 'just' gibbons, you racist.
>>2471276
Because they have never 'gibbon' me a good reason to
