Is it normal for your girlfriend to be really like, hurtful or even bitchy when shes on her period?
4 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
It's one of those things that affect everyone differently.
For instance, for me, right before I get my period I get really sad and emotional and things can make me cry more easily.

You should ask her about it though.
>>
>>18075602
>>18075578
Oh, and definitely DON'T ask or accuse about this in a moment when she's being bitchy.

Bring it up at a neutral time.
>>
>>18075602
Thanks, (btw I dont actually think she is or call her a bitch and the pic was a joke) I dont really want to seem like Im talkign down to her implying her emotions are bc of her period ad make her feel invalidated

I just realized that if I don't start the convos with my "friends", then nobody is actually going to talk to me.

I haven't spoken with someone since the 12th. I've always thought I've had friends, but I look back and remember how I've always been the one to start convos first. How can I find people that enjoy my company?

Be nice to people, go out of your way to help them when they need it the most. It helps to find people that share similar interests but it's not even necessary if you are good at keeping up with conversations about other subjects. People will be nice to you if you are nice to them.

Some people just enjoy listening more than talking. That doesn't mean they didn't like you.

Anon, what should I do to be accepted into an Ivy League school?

Be the child of wealthy benefactor to the college.

>>
>>18075517
1) Find out if you can afford to go there (check up on their offered financial aid package, food, rent, transportation)
2) Take into consideration if you are able to withstand 3-5 years of this.
3) Wait on offers from the other schools you applied to and compare.
4) Think about what your major's going to be, along with your job prospects that go with it. Yes, ivy league will open doors, but will your future paycheck be worth the accumulated student debt?
5) There's always graduate school if you want an ivy league thrown into your resume.

A long term friend of mine is being a real dickhead to everyone around him lately, pretty much intentionally. He refuses to do anything that doesn't serve him best, is cheap, won't plan anything with anyone but expects to be included in plans, and constantly tells people what's wrong with them, in addition to expecting us to do favors for him. He's even reading a book about how to be more of an asshole, called "No More Mr. Nice Guy."

Our other good friend that we don't get to see much has invited us all out to a nice dinner at his restaurant, and is going to cover most of the meal. For about a week, this guy has said he was going to come, but is now telling me that he "may or may not show up," and that we'll find out when we all sit down if he's decided to. It's really shitty - one other person has backed out, and my other friend probably won't show because she's unreliable, so it may just be the host and I sitting at a tough-to-carve-out table for six tonight.

I'm sick of this guy's selfishness. I've tried roasting him about it, talking about how it's stupid, and he just keeps getting worse. Do I just drop the guy because of how he's treating others?

>Do I just drop the guy because of how he's treating others?

No I think you should let him continue doing this and you need to continue enabl...I mean, giving him the support he needs.
>>
>>18075464
Do I just drop the guy because of how he's treating others?

yeah.

Then he will either learn to stop that shit or find new friends. Sometimes people have to learn things the hard way.
>>
He's probably sick of being a doormat so it's natural to be kind of an asshole for a bit.

I just watched 50 Shades of Grey and I am incredibly conflicted.
The movie is definitely bad - but in an extremely cringy manner.
>extremely cringy script (wtf let that slide?!)
>awkwardly lingering shots
>no sense of dramatic progression (first 10 min are most cringy)
At the same time:
>Dakota Johnson: qt3.14 damn (in that make up)
>Jamie Dornan: nohomo hot
>if these two were in a more respectable movie together (better script and cinematography), it could have been a decent (rom)com.

But at the same time it is so cringy that it is incredibly interesting to talk about.

Would bringing this movie up to movie watching friends, damage my rep? I just want to rant about this movie to people.
Watched it out of interest / high.

My landlord sold my home that I have been renting month-to-month, and the new owner delivered a 30-day notice to leave today, signed by a lawyer. I knew this was coming, and have been working on buying my own place.

However the notice states that I must pay rent to the new owner by the 3rd or I will be evicted sooner. Can they really expect a full month's rent for March when they want me out within 30 days from today?
4 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>18075325
You have no agreed upon lease and are not obligated to continue paying to the new owner. UNLESS you signs some shit.

But get out of there. they won't chase you down over month of rent because its not worth their time but if you drag it out too long they will throw the book at you to recoup costs.
>>
It's like a week's difference. Call them and say you're fine with paying rent and leaving but only at the very end of March. They'll probably say meh w/e sure.
>>
>>18075325
Well, yes? You'll be there partially through March, you pay the month's rent upfront. You can ask the new owner for an extension to the end of the month or a prorated rent, but they're not obligated to do either, unfortunately.

>>18075362
He is obligated to pay unless he'd like to be evicted as of the 3rd when they stipulated the rent is going to be due by. When property changes ownership, no new lease has to be signed between the owner and the renter. Advising not to pay is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard, they can collect all of his personal information from the prior owner and simply throw a civil case at him for a minute fee.

This is assuming you live in the states.

What do /adv/?
Do I accept the fact that I’m a puss or should I slowly try to start texting her and rebuild our old relationship of talking to each more often and wait for her to dump her boyfriend?
Should I tell her about my feelings?
I’m in need of some advice here as I don’t know what to do anymore.

I've never had a girlfriend before. For the passed week I've been hanging out with a co worker. We kissed last night, and we cuddled and stuff. Things just seem too perfect. She's been watching the movies I like with me, she likes the same music and songs I like. I'm not the best looking guy, I'm not ugly either, but she's really hot. She could be with any guy, but she's with me. I just feel like things are too good to be true. Like what's happening isn't real. I got her to talk about herself, she used to party in highschool. Was a cheerleader and all of that. She feels genuine, but there are moments where I feel something is slightly wrong. I'm just really confused about all of this.

I just got home after being gone for 6 days and my cat keeps avoiding me and meowing, almost in a distressed way. Before I left 6 days ago, I was fighting with my girlfriend, which seemed to stress my cat out as it would periodically vomit. It seems okay now in regards to the vomiting, but she is still meowing and avoiding me. Is my cat pissed off at me or is my cat afraid of me?

could be in heat if she is not fixed or was fixed when a bit older.

Other than that female cats get pissed about everything. litter clean? feeding schedule changed? you smell different? new food? new anything? who knows.
>>
Your puss is angry that you left. Our cat used to do it all the fucking time. My current cat is all love and cuddles as long as I haven't been away for longer than two weeks (he doesn't stay by himself, mind you, he just lives with my parents), if it's longer then no pets for me. She's giving you an attitude because you went away, hoping it teaches you a lesson.

Thank you.

How can I practice my body language alone, in the comfort of my own room? I have a mirror.

I feel like I have a lot of timid/nervous/beta reactions and postures.
3 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
A lot of nervous tics need to be treated from within, they will disappear if you are actually more confident.

Train your posture. There's lots of exercises from balancing books on your head while walking around, to standing up straight against a wall and focusing on the shape your body takes like that etc. It's been a long time for me so I wouldn't know what the most effective is, google around a little, but I had mediocre posture as a teenager and corrected it to the point where my posture is one of the most common things for me to get complimented on.

And this is a protip I happen to have learned from my father: focus on a point, look straight ahead with your head held high. Then shuffle your feet one way then the other, so you are turning sideways, but turn your entire body while keeping your head still. Basically keep making exaggeratedly intense eye contact with this one spot even though your body is facing different directions. This is a very effective exercise for people who have trouble looking others in the eye, and making too little or too fleeting eye contact is one of the biggest things that makes people look insecure/unreliable etc.
>>
First of all, it's important to find out for yourself, what those "reactions" you are talking about are.

For example, I used to scratch my nose when I was nervous (often considered a sign of lying btw.). Took me some time to notice it by myself. There are probably a lot of things you don't know about, because you never really paid attention to it.

Look up, what signs of confident body language are and practice those (don't have the time to explain every single thing. There are a lot of helpfull videos about body language and self-confidence on youtube).

Also, the next few times you are in a situation you are usually nervous in, try to focus on your body language and be aware of how you act. Rehearse your behavior in those situations.

And don't try to avoid this kind of situation, embrace it. You will only get better trough practice!

Good Luck!

>tfw disillusioned with women

I just can't bring myself to put any effort into a relationship. The second I start to sense that a girl isn't asking me questions and driving the conversation as much as I am, I completely lose interest. The thought of using clever pickup lines, giving unwarranted compliments, and acting excited to talk to any particular girl makes me cringe.

But I still feel lonely and want a relationship. What's wrong with me?

You want a relationship without putting in the work. I would recommend you take some time for yourself to do some self improvement and see if you really want what a relationship has to offer or if you can find fullfillment in something else.

>>18075126
You are putting women on a pedestal then getting mad about it.
