Pic semi-related (very /x/ related) is an awesome series about disappearances in state parks in the US and Canada et al. I can post a few cases out of the book if anyone wants? I'm about halfway through the Western US and Canada book. It'll make you not want to visit state parks again.

Has anyone ever had any weird/paranormal/inexplicable things happen to them at work? I'm pretty much 99% sure I work in a haunted house now so will post all of my stories for you guys. Feel free to contribute if you have anything!
>Working in supported living home for people with autism and mental health conditions
>Big old house, six bedroom, three bathrooms, office, all converted for supported living and so on...
>Top floor has one bedroom and one utility room
>The guy in the top bedroom can't communicate very well but is pretty chilled
>He has a baby monitor in his room connected to the living room so night staff can hear if he needs anything
>I start night shifts
>One night hear him talking over the intercom
>"Hello" "Not fun" "Don't do"
>"Not fun" and "Don't do" are phrases he uses when he is feeling stressed or pressured
>Go upstairs to check on him
>He's sat up in bed, lights off staring at his wall
>I ask if he is okay, he says yes and lies back down
>Okay...
>Two hours later hear footsteps coming downstairs
>Must be one of the guys getting a drink
>Look around doorway
>No one on the stairs
>To get to the kitchen they would have to walk through the room I was in, no way to get there otherwise
Continued...
>Think I must have imagined it and return to work
>Ten minutes later, footsteps again
>Clearly hear someone on bottom three steps and then on wooden floor at the bottom of the stairs in the hallway
>Go to check
>No one again
>Noticed a small bracelet on the bottom step
>wtf.jpeg
>No female residents in this house and no female staff on shift tonight
>Who put that there?
>Next day, hand in to manager and explain what happened
>Asks everyone, nobody recognises the bracelet
>Bracelet is put on the noticeboard in the entranceway with a note for whoever dropped it
>Start shift one night and notice bracelet and note are gone
>Ask shift leader about it
>He says he hadn't noticed who claimed it
>Think nothing of it and get on with work
>Before he locks the office for the night shift leader calls me over
>Says that the baby monitor for upstairs bedroom has been re-connected because suspicions that one resident is using empty room to smoke (Not allowed to smoke in house)
>No problem, I'll just listen out for any movement
>About 04:00 hear noise on monitor
>Faint crackling
>Almost like someone stroking the mic upstairs
>Stop and listen in case resident is trying to sneak into room again
>Hear the door to the room open and then shut
>Little bastard must be in there again
>I go upstairs and open the door to the room slowly to try and catch him
>Room is dark, very quiet
>Open door fully and turn on the light
>Nobody in here
>Get a real uneasy, kind of nervous feeling as I leave the room for some reason
Continued...
>>16986738
>>16986740
>Knock on suspected smoker's door to check on him
>He opens door about twenty seconds later, clearly just woken up
>All other residents are asleep (I'd know if they weren't because when they wake up, you KNOW about it lol, they are not quiet)
>Heading back downstairs when the door to the empty room starts to open slowly
>I freeze
>wtf?
>The room was empty
>I stay still and stare at the door for what seems like minutes
>It's open a good 10 inches or so
>Just held open by itself
>I move my head to try and see around the door
>It slams shut
>Okay, okay... That was the wind, right?
>Check all windows and doors in whole house, twice
>None open and no drafts
>Pretty creeped out but by now it's 6am and I only have one hour left so I just finish my tasks and listen to some music
>Nothing else happens for about five weeks after that...
Skip forward to what happened three nights ago during my night shift.
Continued...
>>16986743
>Get to work at around 21:30
>Everyone (staff and clients) on edge, all seem stressed
>Shift leader tells me that one guy (Andy) has been worked up all day and has hit a staff member
>Andy is running up and down stairs now shouting
>He does NOT want to go to bed lol
>Every time staff ask him to go to bed he either screams or says "Sarah"
>His key worker confirms he has no relatives or friends called Sarah
>Due to his condition he really doesn't use names unless it's the name of someone he knows well
>Staff enquire about Sarah and he keeps replying "upstairs, noisy!"
>Staff reassure him and tell him he needs to go to bed
>He looks at me, clearly terrified and grabs my arm
>I've never seen him like this before
>He's staring right into my eyes and says "You come, help me"
>I agree, just want to get him to bed at this point
>We get upstairs to his door and I go to open it
>He cries out and says "No! You come, help me"
>wut?
>He takes my arm again and leads me up to the top floor
>"Andy, this isn't your room"
>"Sarah's room, noises!"
>Oh shit...
>We're stood outside of the room with the baby monitor/intercom now
>The room is still empty, nobody else has moved in yet
>I tell him the room is empty and that he should get to bed now
>He becomes agitated and starts pointing at the door
>"Sarah, let's go home"
>What does he mean? He's never used the phrase "let's go home" before
>Fuck it, I really need him to settle down for the night so I agree to open the door for him

In my eye is the light of God. What it sees cannot be a lie and what it projects cannot be undone.
I have a question for other readers: How do you decide to pull your cards?
Do you go by intuition?
I usually select based on a number.
Sup X,
I've been trying to learn about Latvian mythology, magic, paganism, etc. for a while now, but I've had almost no luck finding english translations. I'll be taking Latvian lessons soon and trying to read selections from the Dainas, but until then, what am I to do!
Interested for heritage and academic reasons.
Lithuanian here, our mythology is basically identical to that of Latvia's, maybe I can help with something.
They've got some sick magic geometry that they use to weave symbolic pattern stories, but fuck if I can find what they mean!

Thanks!
Any book/story/ folklore collections you know of, I would love to hear about. Or any general kinda stuff you know about magic or pagan practices?
Do we have evidence of cannabis playing a part in ancient religions? Ritual or casual use, strong attitude one way or the other (either forbidding or encouraging)?
I would guess India and Central American tribes would be most likely, as it's geographically native.

Dad here. I found a book on Satanism in my son's room (he's 15). Now, I don't know much about it other than the little I've read on Google since this happened 20 minutes ago, so I dont want to over-react. Would anyone like to educate me as to what, according to their perspective, is Satanism?
Worship of Satan. The great deceiver.
Here you go, dad.

google the author of the book and try to get information from the source. talking about satanism here is almost as productive as talking about aleister crowley.
Someone can clearly explain the concept of the demiurge? the concept is assigned to the definition of God in Gnostic philosophy and Platonic philosophy, but that way you can specify its significance?
>>17030781
Honestly when you see it, you'll know what to do. Not sure what google or youtube doesn't have on it.
Essentially, creator god/gods are not good for trapping spiritual substance in physical bodies by the creation of man.
Adam and Eve which goes to Sumerian legends before the Bible is about the contruction of man to mine gold or something (Ancient astronaut theory)
Some Gnostics go as far as denying the whole old testament, but you can gain insight of Old Testament god, who is called YHWH. Not all books reference YHWH, and much of Genesis and the OT has been mistranslated for reasons of malintention.
Gnostic Jesus was supposedly against YHWH, which makes sense why the Jews wanted Him dead and why their conception of God was so different.
Read "Hypostasis of the Archons"(short read) to get an idea.. if anything, ultimately you figure it out for yourself what you want to do with the information.
Some people exalt those who tried to set their throne above God in the beginning, some worship the Original True God before the demiurge fell away from heaven.
There is not a specific definition. Several authors have use the concept in slighlty diferent ways. But in all concpetializations is a creator and disigner of the universe. So instead of chaos and disorder. The Demiurge is a entitity that search for order, most of the time, by reason or thought, so it would be a being linked to knowladge and a resoned understanding of the universe.
Plato
Hegel
Blake
are some of the thinkers that use the concpet of Demiruge.
Is like trying to define God in al religions, but God has its shades under each religion, Catholics, Muslims, Jews, etc...
>>17031136
>Is like trying to define God in all religions
So...
>the true spiritual hierarchy called "awliya er-Rahman (God)
>opposite to awilya esh-Shaytan (Satan)
Little word play for you guys:
>Rahman is another name for Allah
>Rama is another name for Krsna
Rahman - Rama
Also "Brahman" (impersonal, creating) as another aspect of God in Hinduism. The other two are Paramatman (Great Spirit) and Bhagavan (Personality)
>b-R-A-H-M-A-N and R a h m a n
Since the Bhagavan (Personality) is Krsna, Jesus is also the Bhagavan (Personality).
Jesus, who is the Christ, is also called Christos.
Christos in Sanskrit would translate to Krsna.
When Christians say Christ, they call on GOD. When Hindus say Krsna, they mean GOD.
Just like Krsna can mean all attractive, dark, but also
> "krsh" meaning "truth"
>" na" meaning "bliss.
Also
>Srimad Bhagavatam (3:23)
>in the nineteenth and twentieth incarnations, the Lord advented Himself as Lord Balarama and Lord Krsna in the family of Vrsni (the Yadu dynasty) and by doing so He removed the burden of the world.
Removed the burden of the world.
Interesting. Sounds kind of like what Jesus does.
