Batman is mediocre at best
Haven't played Transformers
NieR and P5 are excellent
Why is this game such an unoptimized pile of shit? I bought it for $35.00 and still feel ripped off
I'm also afraid to install any updates because I've heard that the patches make frame-stuttering worse. Either way the game looks like it would have been graphically impressive 10 years ago and still manages to run like shit
Just bought it on Amazon an hour ago.
>>377668495
I bought it an hour ago too and so far I can tell you that the world is completely fucking empty, the NPC's are a fucking joke, and it runs like shit on my PS4. Still somewhat comfy to play, but embarrassing when compared to GTA V, which came out five years ago
A trolley full of your loved ones is heading down the tracks and will hit another loved one. If you redirect it, it will hit three strangers, but all of your loved ones will be fine. However, there is another person on the other side of the tracks facing the same problem. If you both choose to redirect the trolleys, they will crash in the middle, killing almost everyone.Prey Thread
>>377668225
Neither of us should redirect. 3 lives saved > 2, even if they are loved ones.
>>377668225
Why would I care for anyone but my loved ones?
Is there no option where I can save my loved ones but kill everyone else? This test is bullshit
B-but I don't have any loved ones... ;_;

On a scale of 1-10, how likely is Metroid to appear at E3 2017?
A 2, unless we see another Federation force shitstorm.

I'm far too stupid to learn how to do that shit.
Anyone like the different combinations you can end up with in Binding of Isaac, but otherwise really don't like the game or themes? I've been looking for a game with a similar style, but more Fantasy based, where each run can result in a completely different type of Fantasy character.
So in my quest for a Fantasy game in that style, I've given Hammerwatch and Legend of Dungeon but neither quite get that, "character can be completely different from any other run" sort of thing. So I have Rogue Legacy a try, and it still didn't scratch the itch.
Am I on a futile quest?
Is there a Fantasy game with similar mechanics to Binding of Isaac's upgrade system? Especially with co-op. I'd love to delve into a randomly generated dungeon with four other players growing into all sorts of weird Fantasy characters that could be completely different from one run to the next.
Next on my list to try is Dungeons of Dredmor. It looks promising. I'd still like any advice on what other games might get close to what I'm looking for.
Bumping with whatever because also interested. Mercenary Kings is about making dumb weapon combinations in a 2-D sidescroller and has coop. It's not the best game but I like what it tries to do.
Not fantasy and not what you listed but just bumping for interest.
>>377668162
Appreciated, I've tried several non-Fantasy ones. I eventually settled on FTL for my Sci-Fi fix, which is why I'm not really looking for sci-fi off-hand. I did try Enter the Gungeon and found it kind of wanting, finding the different guns is neat, but I didn't get that, "Every play through is different" feeling out of it. I burned out on it fast.
I'll write down Mercenary Kings for later, moods change afterall.
>>377668809
It's really sad because I feel I know what I want but don't know if it exists. Enter a dungeon with three friends each with a basic fantasy heal/tank/damage base character. Kill monsters to build into a skill tree while collecting wacky items that change how you interact with these skills and teammates.
Shit like starting as a cleric and picking up a cursed staff that flips healing and damage. Rogue upgrades carry enough to dual wield greatshields and creates shieldwalls. Mage buffing their own gun for unique bullet effects.
I would say it's either turn-based strategy, or RPGs, that's why they mostly suck nowadays, in the time of "AWESOME gameplay" and pretty graphics.
I think the obivous answer here is WoW-style MMOs. They require a massive investment of capital to create the game AND advertise it, and if it doesn't catch on in the first week and build a playerbase that will stay with you till the end of time then it will fail painfully and you will go bankrupt.
TBS and RPGs are both lower cost and lower risk.
>>377669257
Yeah, true. But what I meant is which genre has the most hardest mechanics to make.
About MMOs, they work perfectly, they are the epitome of both video game industry and addiction, I really admire Blizzard for what they have done over the ages, all of their games work like a drug, they are why television will die out and video games will have monopoly over modern entertainment.
This is even more pronounced in Asia, their gaming communities are crazy, in China, people send their kids to military camp rehabs.
>>377669929
People send kids to military camps everywhere, though its definitely less popular than it used to be in the West.
If you strictly want to talk about "the hardest game to create from a development standpoint" and not include anything outside of creating it itself.. yeah I think you're pretty right about how RPGs require a lot of effort.
It's not that RPGs are particularly difficult to develop from a coding point of view. Most popular RPGs do nothing particularly innovative or clever with mechanics. I don't think anyones gotten a peek at the source code for Witcher or TES or anything huge, but given how the games work, they are pretty cookie cutter simple.
But the story is pretty difficult to keep consistent. Look at Fallout 4 where the new developers just weren't up to the task and Bethesda lost face over the accidental story changes because the writers couldn't keep track.
Though I think one of genres that are even harder than RPGs to develop are games with heavy reliance on procedural generation. This is really easy to do, and even easier to do wrong. There are very few Rogues or Crypt of the Necrodancers or Dwarf Fortresses and there are a fucking lot of generic games that just throw procedurally generated crap at you that will never be interesting content.

OMG WHAT'S THIS VOICE
You'll notice that Bethesda games get progressively worse the less involvement Todd has due to being promoted to a more supervisory role.

That's because Todd genuinely loves playing and making video games. He really shows that in that interview
