>126 playable characters
>map editor
>fun multiplayer and minigames
>great campaign
>surprisingly good cutscenes for a game made in 2003
>great soundtrack
You may not like it, but this is what a perfect videogame looks like.
>>383236978
>map editor
I still think it's a fucking crime that Far Cry 2's map editor died in obscurity.
>>383236978
my bf let me try multiplayer with him once and desu it was fun but i think i only scratched the surface of what it had to offer
is it worth tracking down my own copy op?
>>383236978
>126 playable characters
quick
claim your character
GTA V:
>every mission is a linear scripted shitfest that plays out the exact same way every single time
GTA IV:
>missions encourage creativity and can be completed in many different ways
>e.g., instead of chasing a target down a freeway and shooting his car until it blows up, place a bomb under his car beforehand so he blows up as soon as he gets in, or follow him until he stops at a gas station and shoot an RPG at the gas pumps, or get ahead of his car and hide in a toll booth to mow him down Godfather-style when he stops, or follow him across the bridge and ram his car into the river, etc.;
>instead of fighting your way through a housing project to kill a target, climb a crane a few blocks away to snipe him with one shot, or call the cops so they have a shootout with the gang members and clear the way for you, or call a friend to send you backup gangsters who will fight by your side, etc;
>instead of going up the elevator and shooting your way through a hotel to kill a target, steal a helicopter and land on the roof to drop down from above, or leave a getaway car running in a nearby alley and use a window-washing platform to get onto an adjacent roof, etc.
>instead of getting into a car chase with the mafia and then escaping the cops after fighting your way out of a museum, call a friend to land his helicopter outside so you can make a clean getaway, etc.
What the fuck went wrong? What's the point of having an open world game if the missions in it play out like levels in a corridor shooter?
>>383923709
I think you're confusing the two games.
>>383923709
Yep, GTA IV has a amazing replay value, on every playthrough I find completely new ways to finish a mission if I only explore a bit.
>>383923709
If you like finishing missions is a whole lot of different ways, you should try San Andreas and Vice City, GTA III !
Choose wisely.
>Can't date best girl
>tfw can't fuck the stupid out of Lin Fa
I DON'T CARE IF THIS IS THE WRONG GAME I'M STILL PISSED

Not really a fair fight.
>Nothing matters except for "gameplay".
Does anyone here unironically believe this?
No, but I would play a game with great gameplay and shit everything else
I can't say the same for sound, story, graphics, etc
>>383921436
It's the most important part. All the other parts amplify that.
>>383921436
No one believes this.
You're mistaking this for gameplay being the most important part of a game.
DmC is not better than anything.
>>383921162
1=3>4>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>DmC=2.
This is objective undeniable truth.
>>383921525
wrong
1 > 4 > DmC > 3 > 2
>give all those dirty beggars money
>spare all those scum bag back stabbers who betrayed me
>find that little kid's teddy bear
>save all the hostages/prisoners
>get the dark non-canon ending because I didn't re-listen to every enemy conversation
>every time I had to reload a save
Is there a game with a worse karma system?
>>383920818
The metro karma system is actually the best system there is, it punishes absolute scum like you who just rush through the game to the finish as fast as possible.
>playing LL
>>383921984
I wasn't rushing through it; the complete opposite actually. I interacted with everything and always went out of my way too look for journal pages.
I always eavesdropped on enemy conversations when going through a new area.
I was playing on survival hardcore and didn't feel like re-listening every time every time I had to reload a save. I also didn't want to spoil my experience by using a wiki check-list.

even tim "financially responsible adult" schafer was able to make a game for like a tenth of the money star citizen got.
>>383920970
all of his games are no where near the technical ambitions of Star Citizen
>>383921627
It's true, schafer never tried to string along millions of people for years just to get a bunch of mansions and yachts.
I find Rockstar games very dull after ~20 minutes of goofing around
Largely agreed, although I loved Red Dead Redemption Because I'm a sucker for cowboy shit.
>>383920040
for me it's around 20 hours, but yeah I can see that
>>383920040
For me it's when I get to know the city and its surroundings. You begin to see all its flaws.
Good thing she won't give a shit when Mario possesses them.
>>383919008
>pauline
who?
>>383919870
Tom's really blowing this issue out of proportion
There's absolutely no way he'd be able to get away with all this. It's one thing to be raping the women, but for all the students to constantly be having scars and black eyes would definitely bring eyes on the school. This was stupid

You underestimate the willingness of the Japanese to ignore problems in order to preserve the status quo.
Have you never watched the news?
Even in the US, universities with famous sports teams will do literally ANYTHING to hide the illegal acts of their coaches and players because it's what they're FAMOUS for.
Sometimes the word gets out and you have HUGE scandals that go on for months.
This shit really does happen in real life.
>Be japanese
>Go to school
>Get beaten up for not doing good enough
>Go home
>Get beaten up for not doing good enough
>Move to America
