There's no defending this. Just connect your TV's audio to your PC's line in, and use Discord. That way you get both game audio and chat audio through one audio output, and you are using a decent voice chat service.
What kind of weapons do you like in video games? Hammers are my favorite.

Gameplay wise I'm not sure but thematically it feels outdated as fuck. Lots of references to Bush-era terrorism. But even at the time it felt weird...Why is the storyline focused on the fucking mafia, and Russian mobs, in 2008 New York? Maybe if this was the 70s...But organized crime become almost nonexistant in New York in the 21st century

Highly debateable. A pseudo-science "What if we could alter reality with the collective unconscience" story has been done to death in JRPGs already. Nothing in it was remotely interesting or original, and once jun stopped being JOKER the whole "Story" became what ifs and easily predictable.
Later itterations were at least original for the whole highschool thing, at least it coined the social linking as a staple for the series rather than it just being a generic JRPG that quite literally plays itself.
