You want something precise. I wouldn't call it a meme at all. It's much easier to shoot a target from far away with a good mouse. Your aim might be wobbly and inaccurate without one.

A gaming mouse is important if you're playing a game that requires precise aiming.
So if you play like any shooting game online then yeah its pretty important.

DQVII is a slow paced game, it takes its time to familiarize you with its world and characters. I definitely don't think it's a good entry point for newcomers to the series for that reason (it's a DQ for fans who can't get enough DQ), but it does a great job of building itself up through small arcs, which combine into one of the most truly grandiose adventures in games.

If you have ZERO expectation or understanding of what Resident Evil is then maybe. The problem with RE6 is that it's a case of good mechanics but awful level design with its campaigns. You might like actually playing Mercs but if you're in it for the spectacle then either pick this one up on the cheap or watch a let's play. Whatever you do though, don't go around pretending you know shit about RE after dealing with this game.
