The muddy low poly just makes it more spooky; just like how an old VHS tape is more spooky than a Blu-Ray disc. Silent Hill shouldn't feel clean and pretty, but distorted and uncouth. If you can't perfectly make out what a monster is supposed to look like then all the better.

It just werks.

A re-release would be nice so I don't have to emulate it on my soviet era toaster.

Silent Hill 1 isn't scary.
