engine limitations

it's hard to make attack animations that look cool. Spears themselves aren't cool weapons.

I know there are plenty of contrarians who will cry out about how much they love spears and how practical and efficient they are in real life historic battlefields, but honestly, there's a reason you don't see fictional heroes with a legendary magic spear very often.

There are tons of stories with magic swords, because swords are cool. They look cool when they swing. What legendary spears are there? Odins, the spear of destiny, and Gae Bolg, and that's pretty much it.

The Witcher 3 made me feel like a kid again. I still remember what I was doing on the exact day I received the collector's edition.

TW3 felt like the devs thought I was brain damaged, always handholding, always telling you exactly what to do, not a single challenging quest or puzzle in the entire game.

I thought it would be Nier Automata considering all the massive praise I heard the game getting - ended up disappointing me greatly even if I took all that praise with a massive dose of caution.

I haven't had a game like that in a long time.
I've just enjoyed a bunch of games here and there, but none have truly sparked me to yell out "I love video games" as much as Bloodborne did 2 years ago when I still played it a lot.
