Ever rage quit or made a player rage quit? Any game is fine.

I was running a game and every time I introduced an NPC of some evil importance, one of my players would always say "I shoot him while he's talking" or something to that effect. It didn't always work out but he was always smugly pleased with himself afterwards. So the last time he tried this, I said that when he attacked the NPC he was only attacking an illusion. I don't know why this was such a big deal, but he exploded at the whole group saying I was a railroader and stormed out of the room.

Wasn't me, but a friend who plays skaven was challenged to a 5000pts warhammer fantasy game by a local that guy, who plays orcs. After near and hour and half of deployment, my friend spent his entire turn firing his entire army at 20 black orcs and grimgor, finally finishing them with the dreaded thirteenth spell, removing then unit.

The orc player than packed up the rest of his 4500pt army and left, whilst swearing loudly and throwing accusing glares at my friend.

Pretty sure one of the Weeaboo players at my store rage quit some anime card game.

Dude was drinking the entire time (back room, its pretty common knowledge that you can drink back there) and was full on NoFunAllowed.jpg mode. He was constantly badgering his opponent and goading him to play faster. Eventually he shouts to his opponent "Just play your fucking cards, you know you won!!" and the other guy was pretty uneasy through the rest of his turn.

I never saw that guy again, since we only play back there when the front of the store is full. I'd like to think he quit the game entirely.

Dunno. That's probably it.

I would do it in RPGs back in my early twenties. I had a lot of emotional issues. Still do, but I'm aware of it now and take proper medication. I enjoy gaming much more having (belatedly) developed some maturity and taken measures to improve my mental health.

To add to what I already said here:

>>44482205

Quest for Glory is very much not about balanced parties; it's about the fact that there are multiple ways to fulfill your goals, depending on whether you are a Mage OR Thief OR Fighter.

So, besides what I already said, having the Mage prefer to go with the Mage is actually very in-genre for the setting. There aren't really adventuring parties to speak of, but there ARE many guilds where people of the same "type" congregate and cooperate.

Again, however, thanks for the input.

Here goes...
Quest For Glory (updated version)
Age: 24

Herioc Plotline +200
Heroic Timeline +100
Monster mash +100
Heroic Style +100
= 1500

Thief 0
Lockpicking 0
Stealth (Rank 2) 200
Agile (rank 2) 200
One of the Boys 200
Subtle Sense 300
Magic Spark 100
Narrative Necessity 400
Storybook Life 100

Basic Gear, Heroing Outfit, Money (3), Leather Armor, Small Sword (Gladius)
all 0cp for Thief.

Originally I had Spell Sense instead of Narrative Necessity and Storybook Life, but the cp bonus from Monster Mash dropped to +100cp and I didn't want to take another drawback to cover the loss, but no biggie.
I already have a few less-detailed sense magic type perks and dispel things, so this shouldn't be too much of a hassle to finish in a month.

Couple of queries for acheld -
1) Assuming you save the day with the Heroic Timeline drawback, you get to live in the kingdom of Gloriana for the remainder of the 10 years, right?
2) Assuming I focused on spellcraft study, what's the highest I could get to with just Magic Spark within the remainder of the jump? Like, maybe learn one spell at basic level of skill?

“Essex, put those torpedoes to your stern!” you command.

“Y-YOU CHAUVINIST-”

“Turn away from them and run from them,” you clarify quickly.

“What!?” Essex breathes as her impressive secondary and teitary batteries saturate the sky and sea with high-explosives. A 5-inch shell lands just short of an zigzagging boat and detonates under the keel, lifting the bow out of the waves and dropping it again with awful force. The shiny black carapace is fractured and crumpled, but it turns away and makes decent speed in retreat; saved by its flexible light plywood construction. “Essex, lead ship of her class, running from THIS rabble!? I THINK NOT!” She reaches for a quiver on her waist, and produces something that gleams like steel along its impressive length. You're about to zoom in the camera yourself when the drone operator pre-empts you, getting a good look at the long, graceful blade of the sword she's just drawn - the forward-swept crossguard sporting distinctive teardrop shapes on the wingtips. She lays the blade flat against the shaft of her bow; a gracefully tapering shape that belies its strength; the unpainted titanium shines brilliantly in the summer sun. She settles into the proper stance; upright, one foot forward, turning the bow diagonal as she takes up the slack on the string, drawing down from the waist. It's laborious, slow, and necessary - the power of the bow is obvious; sufficient to hurl the heavy weapon she's nocked on the string.

And until those fighters clear her deck, she can't turn out of the wind.

“Behold the [ENGINE SCREAM] of the BANSHEE!” Essex declares grandly. Kaga's palm claps to her face with an audible impact as the sword hurtles off the bow, the violent vibration of the thin braided steel bowstring visible even on the shaky Global Hawk feed. The sword dissolves in a streak of flame that parts in twain, the dark shapes of wickedly forward-swept wings resolving into tangible aircraft at the head of each flaming dart. The F-2 Banshees bank hard, wide wings digging into the air as pull hard to put their noses on the incoming PT boats. Another two have already launched before Essex puts her rudder hard over to evade.

“This isn't happening,” Kaga says bluntly. “I was sunk, and this is Hell.”

“What makes you say that?” Goto says.

She jerks her thumb at you. “It's full of Yankees, for a start.”

The JDS Kaga's compliment arrives just as the Banshees begin their first runs, quad Colt autocannons chewing the water to foam around their hapless targets. The Bush's F-18s are making their own runs; white smoke trailing in their wake as the GAU-61s fire long lethal bursts. The ocean is so thick with little darting PT boats, towering palls of smoke from burning and smashed enemies and columns of spray from the few guns Essex can still bring to bear that it's hard to count the number of enemies.

But someone is trying - the computerized plotting board shows northwards of twenty of the bastards; and the subs are still unaccounted for!

“DICKBADGERS!” Essex cries, visibly shuddering as her bow swings through the emergency turn.

“Essex, you okay?” you ask.

“Of course!” she replies. “I'm the-”

“For fucks sake what HAPPENED!?” you demand.

“Uh, got hit by a torpedo?”

You didn't see the characteristic column of spray, so- “what, in the bow?”

“Yes! I'm fine, though!”

“No,” you mutter. “No you're not.” The weapon probably blew clean through her bow from left to right - a luckily weak hit, structurally - but now water's pouring straight into her at thirty-plus knots from both sides. The abyssals are already splitting up into two groups, angling to each side to execute a proper hammer-and-anvil attack. They have to chase Essex down to deliver it, but she's already slackening speed lest the incoming water batter down her internal bulkheads - there's no hope of waiting for the Bush to launch more cover with Paveways or cluster bombs.

Fortunately, help is closer. The first JMSDF Seahawk reaches firing range and lets fly with a Hellfire. The abyssal PT boat turns hard to avoid, and a second Hellfire charges off the rail for a bracketing salvo. The picture from the Hawk is clear enough to see the awful snarl warping the monster's face as it slams its right prop into full reverse and the left into flank, the power differential throwing the creature into a turn so violent it's leaning into the maneuver like a rollerblader cornering fast. The first Hellfire loses track at the last second, the violent spray of water from the boat's fantail diffusing the laser, sending the shot into the drink to one side. The boat's just turning back for an s-shaped evasive maneuver when the second Hellfire screams in with a good track and strikes directly...

Funny thing is, Luke is the ultimate Mary Sue. Only gets light Jedi training as an adult, still ends up beating two highly experienced Sith. Can speak multiple languages even though he grew up on a farm and has only interacted with moisture. Can somehow magically fly an X-Wing. Is expert robot fixer. Is able to feel no emotions at all when his effective parents are burnt to the bone in front of him. Is Aryan as fuck. Just casually grappling hooks across bottomless pits while dodging lasers with a teenage princess swooning in his arms - and even better for a farmboy, it's his sister.

His only flaw is... caring too much

“GUYS! There's TWO DOZEN uglies bleeding SAINT MOTHERFUCKING ELMO'S FIRE out of their GODLESS EYES and I am NOT equipped to fight underwater contacts! PLEASE ADVISE!”

Stunned silence rolls through the shadowed CIC in the wake of this announcement; the tac-map spinning in your head as the world turns on its axis, re-orienting with the threat on one side and your assets on the other.

The enemy's gate, etc.

“CV-9,” you reply. “Do you have a position fix on the contacts?”

“Uglies?”

“Sure, we'll go with that.”

“Yeah! My strike planes saw them underwater!”

Aircraft can spot the shadow of a submarine at periscope depth, especially in shallow waters with a white sandy bottom. Unfortunately, none of her airborne Corsairs have weapons fuzed to be effective against them.

“Stand by, Essex - we've got an ASW strike inbound!”

“Catalinas!?”

You grin with wicked amusement. “You'll see. Have your Corsairs orbit over the contacts or mark them with tracer fire, okay?”

“Got it! I'll light'em up like a neon sAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH-” she screams as the four F-18s scream overhead at Mach point-nine, getting visuals on the orbiting Corsairs before pitching straight vertical and screaming skyward, vanishing through the light cloud deck in mere seconds.

“W-W-WHAT WERE THOSE!?” CV-9 demands.

“Airplanes,” you reply drolly. The F-18s roll on their backs leisurely, then pull the throttles back against the stops as they arrow down towards the general vicinity of the orbiting navy-blue Corsairs. Goto brings up their cockpit camera feeds in PIP windows one after another, showing the vast blue Pacific rushing up to meet them fast.

“CV-9, have your Corsairs strafe those contacts now!” you command.

The Hornet drivers flip through HUD modes to LGB release mode; locking their LITENING-II pods designators on the tiny patch of ocean the Corsairs flickering orange tracers are licking at. They pickle a pair of bombs each; four fighters engaging four contacts, their near 90-degree dives guaranteeing a near hit even if abyssal interference hinders the laser guidance. You hear the pilots grunting into their mics as they pull out hard, skimming over the waves seconds ahead of their ordinance. The 500 pound bombs are on short contact fuzes; they detonate a fraction of a second after slamming into the water, detonating around 80 feet down, just the right depth to catch a sub at periscope depth beginning a hasty crash-dive. Towering columns of spray climb into the air as the F-18s zoom-climb and loop over the top, lazily taking up station over CV-9.

“W-what,” she stammers, obvious shock in her voice. Kaga winces - she knows exactly what's going through Essex's mind.

“Essex, do your aircraft have a visual on oil slicks, or debris, or anything?”

“Uh, I, uh - let me ask?”

“You do that.”

A pause. “One oil slick, but not very big; I think you just winged that one!”

Why does every piece of dark elf or drow artwork have to be not only female, but have massive tits that are ready to burst out from their bikini-armor?

This seems to be a problem with elves in general, but dark elves and drow seem to get it the worst.

Down in the colony of Horizon's Drop your enslaved minions hold a subdued celebration for the return of the mining crew. Jor had told the colonists and former soldiers both Osjiic and Dagger that their tasks for the day were dismissed.

Herd-beast steaks and chicken were prepared alongside steamed root vegetables and sauteed kelp. Someone managed to find a few sealed crates of beer and liquor and the Daggers brought their own ship-brewed moonshine to the gathering.

There were even a few of the Osjiic grunts joining the gathering despite the protests their former commanders and more hardened veterans tried to put up. There was some tension between them and the Daggers but they knew better than to bring up old wounds.

Even Jor was able to walk among them for a short-time, the colonists for once not shooting him glares and begrudgingly including him in a few conversations. Among the news and gossip he gathered was that there was a human woman that was pregnant and nearing birth. The colonists had somehow managed to cover her shifts, hiding her from Jor and the cauldron-born soldiers but tongues were loosened by drink and good food.

You watch over the celebration idly, a Gargoyle perched in its roost on a pylon of atmosphere sensors. You could feel their anxieties and tensions ease as they ate, drank, and talked. While their normal fears were of little threat, you realize this release was much needed for your subjects.

The Eyegore scout watching the binary star dominated by the Osjiic watches as the fleet suddenly grows with the arrival of several of the surviving and injured craft from the battle with the Ahkam. Scorch marks and craters dot the heavily armored ships, several looking like they barely held together long enough to make the FTL trip and dock with the repair yards in the asteroid belt. Your spy still occasionally overhearing talk about tracking down Estkri's missing scout fleet.

On Rukor the sun rises to the sound of lamenting ructu villagers. The synchronized attack by Nekris and his ships had reduced the largest villages shrines and idols to charred craters, their offering turned to ash that drifted away in the wind. Gargoyles watch as they try their best to repair the damage but you can tell by their panic that they were frightened more by the lack of food offerings, the natives bringing out their own personal stocks of food to lay in the craters under hastily built effigies.

The volcanic moon was uncharacteristically calm, the Ahkam worshiping Stonestars remaining in their caverns while the Lavafather loyalists sweep away the altars and idolts crumbled under Agona's purge. They erect their circles of standing stones as Agona sends her forces to intervene in battles on distant parts of the moon. Even the Volcano that supposedly housed the Lavafather entity itself was calm, lava flows burbling calmly down cliffs.

Your ructu captives stare uneasily at the collection of five stonestars, the two groups unsure of what to make of each other as they sat in their cells silently. The ructu spending most of their time using the sigil carved stone that shows them hallucinations of space and its glories.

There was much to tend to and prepare for. What shall you do?

Would you play/run a game in Bayonetta's setting if given the chance?

Okay, let's say I haven't played Bayonetta.
What's your elevator pitch?

What sort of characters can I play other than Bayonetta herself, and what sort of adventures would PC's in this setting get up to?

I need ideas for monotheistic religions (or atleast religions which only worship one god and hold them above all others they recognise as existing) in fantasy settings, which aren't just Christianity by another name.

Or, more specifically, I'm trying to think of what domain a god of a monotheistic religion would embody, so they're not just an omnipotent Abrahamic God. I'm trying to think of domains which would be a real driving force behind civilisation: something which has lifted a civilisation out of the dark ages and mdae it prosperous in comparison to heathens.

Stuff I've considered
>Agriculture and the harvest (and possibly the weather)
>Smithing
>(Victory in) warfare

The sun is also an obvious one. 'Sunlight' isn't really something which would give any civilisation a great advantage but it's obviously a big, seemingly divine body.

You could easily combine sun with agriculture and harvest. Even smithing and warfare, base it all around a theme of fire and warmth.
On that note, you could go the Prometheus direction, where they are but one god among many, but the only god on the side of the people. Or you could go with old school Yahweh who was just better than everyone else and only gave a shit about his chosen people. Or you could take all that and combine it.

Also give some consideration to what those people value. If they are crafters/artists, their god is a creator and artist himself, if they are a warrior culture their god is a champion among gods, proving himself superior through show of force.

The sun was often used as a symbol of the christian in some cases for that very reason.
I'd say it depends on the culture itself. To a more simple people, a god of fire would be enough. It's clearly vital for survival by giving warmth and preparing food, but its mechanics and nature might be a little more unknown to them.
To the more advanced people who casually make and tend to fire or casually handle it with torches or lantern their god may be ruler of the sky because the sky is a great looming thing they might not understand as well.
Perhaps if the culture is Oceanside and relies heavily on seafood for nutrition but hasn't yet tamed the ocean through seafaring they may worship a god who lives deep at the bottom of the sea.

Easier way to say that is "Henotheism"
