Last time we created the Khornate Daemon prince "The Harbinger of Revolution". Lets see what we can come up with this time!

Give me an alignment:

Malice is not a choice because he is anti Daemon after all.

Your party have been transported to the world of Game of Thrones at about the time Ned Stark gets beheaded.

They know that winter is coming.

What do they do?

Use all our gold to buy ourselves a comfortable home in Essos and wait until it all blows over.

Then, become Valyrian's part two.

Last party was a wizard who could blow up city blocks, a tank good enough to stall a dragon for some turns, a healer of comparable power to the wizard, a big big barbarian and an almost invisible thief. Considering how low-fantasy Westeros is, they should be pretty fine. The wizard can teleport and maintain the party with an extraplanar refuge spell, that actually takes them to a pretty comfortable house which is self-sustaining as long as the wizard keeps dumping magic in it, so even a world wide ice age with zombies wouldn't worry them too much. They'd get bored, though.

Sup, /tg/, I just reread the Baker's Dozen screencap for like, the third time and it's finally got me wondering to how to do put something together similar to that. General idea of the party going through a series of highly thematic enemies.

My current idea was just going to be to see if I can slot it into a campaign I already have going as a large dungeon but might also just break it off into its own thing as a mini-campaign. Looking for ideas, art and general discussion on the topic of battlechefs and food monsters.

Tastes can be classified into different groups.

>Sweet
>Sour
>Salty
>Bitter
>Rich (fatty or "umami")

attribute a stat to each of these.

>Sweet (Charisma)
>Sour (Intelligence)
>Bitter (Agility)
>Salty (Endurance)
>Richness (Strength)

Something along those lines.

Now, you can base monsters off of these foods and give them stats accordingly. Dessert monster is going to have high charisma because she is sweet and the party will have to resist their temptations.

A sour monster, being acidic, is going to be intelligent, alchemical, and magical.

Bitterness usually puts you on edge. Coffee is bitter and it makes you alert and awake. I therefore attribute it to dexterity.

Salt preserves food and makes it endure so I consider salty to be an endurance attribute

Richness (or fat) can be seen as strength and body.

A meat monster for instance would be fat and salty, and therefore have a lot of melee combat strength and could act as a tank.

A character who is sweet and sour like candy could be your typical "magic girl" type character, charismatic and intelligent/magical.

You could then integrate this principle into an alchemical system where you mix flavors to create food which can be used to give the player characters buffs or you could even integrate it into a summoning system where a chef can create their own monsters and customize their stats by using certain ingredients.

Just kind of brainstormed this on the fly, but hopefully you find it useful in one way or another.

A bit disapointed with their preorder "bonus" which is simply a DLC.
I'd like to support them, because god knows proper 40k games are rare, but fuck me if I don't want to wait for the ultimate edition of the game.

How do you like your sci-fi settings anon? Does yours have the presence of aliens? How many planets are terraformed? What is the history of your setting's space exploration? Tell me about it.

There are no aliens. There is evidence of aliens having existed in many places. Mostly big monoliths. People assumed that that something was culling them before they got too advanced but it was more likely that only the primitive shit was surviving the ravages of deep time.

Then the mega structures started to be discovered. Then people started to worry that these didn't represent the height of their accomplishments so much toys left behind from their infancy.

There are not earth like planets. Terraforming is an inexact art and you get something sort of earthish at the end. Sort of.

Mostly you have to rebuild complex animals from the ground up to survive in the exotic environment.

Exploration happened because the A.I. encouraged humanity to leave. They basically designed ways for us to leave and offered incentives and manipulated all of the media to instil a pioneer spirit in much of the population.

They sent the automated terraforming fleets out first.

Nobody quite knows why they did this. Possibly they got sick of our bullshit, possibly they saw that just living on one island was going to doom us sooner or later.

There are a dozen or more 2nd gen homeworlds. There are about a hundred colonies from each of them.

The A.I., or pieces of it, came with us.

First dozen colonies were set up using sleeper ships because 500 years in space is boring as fuck.

After FTL was discovered the next wave of colonisations happened a lot quicker. Its about 700 years since the first ark ships set out.

The only humans left in the Sol system tend to be in the majority off of Earth and on the off-world colonies. The only people on Old Earth tend to be pilgrims, tourists and historians.

I like a setting that knows what it is and embraces it. Space fantasy/opera is great, so is hard sci-fi. It's when a setting doesn't know what it's trying to do that it annoys me.

My current setting is 2080.

Most of humanity remains on Earth in nation-states and lives much as they do now, though the general standard of living is higher, while communication and education is far more available.

Outside of Earth's atmosphere, the Terran Commonwealth is a cooperative organization that at first was little more then a way for different spaced-based national exploration programs and companies to agree to standards and coordinate but became far more.

While human exploration of the solar system was still in it's early years in 2060 a massive object was detected approaching the solar system. The size of Earth's moon and decelerating from .7c, it was 'chasing' smaller objects that arrived in 2067.

The smaller objects were ark ships, crammed with the survivors of an alien race. They warned us that the larger object would bring death and destruction, and would arrive in ten years.

Many of Earth's nations panicked, while others endlessly debated how to respond. Weaponry in space was massively regulated by treaty and while some robust exploration and mining ships could fight, if needed, humanity had no warships.

The commonwealth became an international compromise to militarize space, armed ships but forbidden to ever interfere with the politics of earth or operate within the atmosphere. A desperate building program, fed by technology provided by the Arkbound and human improvisation, provided the first clumsy ships for the Arrival of the massive object in 2077.

There seems to be a lot of going on when it comes to board games based on fantasy franchises. Dresden Files is getting a card game, Mistborn a board game, ASoIaF already has a board game and a card game, Discword has several ones as does Lord or the Rings and Harry Potter (none good though, I think), Dune has an OOP game, The Witcher has a RPG and a board game (the latter being based on the game not the novel, though) What's more?

As for my wishes:

I think the setting from Jim Butcher's Codex Alera would fit nicely to a 4X game, or a grand strategy game. Same deal with Edding's Elenium and Tamuli setting.

The Gentlemen Bastards setting would be a nice setting for a "hidden objective game" like Discword: Ankh-Morpok.

Back to back to back to back sessions of Dungeonquest, I dropped out after the second game due to burn out, but a bunch of people wanted to keep going so I just left it set up and away they went.

>4P - Rise of the Kage
>4P+ - Talisman, Dungeonquest, Arcadia Quest, Chaos in the Old World, Gears of War

Do bande dessinée count? Because a co-op Lucky Luke game where you plat The Dalton Brothers trying to rob the stagecoach without getting caught by Lucky Luke would be amazing.
> What was your latest session like?
Epic Spell Wars (good fun, but one guy kept putting spells in the wrong order, despite being told at least three times he was doing it wrong), Guillotine (excellent as always), Word Whimsy (the perfect CAH replacement) and Built It Up! (interesting block stacking game, with plenty of ways to screw people over)
> Favorite games in your collection for X number of players?
2p - Hamsterolle, Ankh Morpork, Carcassonne
3p - Gemblo, Forbidden Island, Carcassonne
4p - Flash Point, Ankh Morpork, Carcassonne
5+ - Saboteur, Shadow Hunters, One Night Ultimate Werewolf

Would it be too much for an archetype to have a few different sets of abilities? I mean, they are all linked together so you can only have one set at a time, but it requires a short rest to change between them? I don't think it's actually overpowering on its own but it could be an unfair amount of versatility compared to regular archetypes.

Alright /tg/, i heres whats up.

in our EoTE game our crew wound up saving a number of Twi'leks from slavery, one was an young orphan, (comparable to 8-10 year old girl), and my character a human smuggler wound up taking her under my wing since A: made the most sense because rest of crew is composed of a Wookie, a Rodian, a Gand, and a Chodrafan; my character being a human smuggler, and B: i was the only one that really interacted with her since we let her stay aboard the ship, ships mascot yadda yadda.

i had the idea to bring her into the next campaign as the adult version raised by her adopted father (my character) and figure it would make for a nice story, the only problem is i still have this hang up about men playing female characters. figured i could come here for some advice.

Have them play as a circus troupe on the run from their ringmaster?
You'd get your strongman, knifejuggler, bearded lady, etc.
Alternatively, have them all go through character creation, then you start the campaign 200 years into the future when they're all dead and they start off as skeletons. They need to consume flesh to slowly regenerate their bodies and their sanity. Something like darksouls?

I'm GMing a 5e campaign, and the Paladin of Bane wants to make a church and attract followers during his downtime. Is there a roll of some kind for this? Was thinking of giving him rewards as he hit certain milestones.

Maybe try a completely new genre that you haven't DM'd before?
I've wanted to jump across to something Sci Fi like shadowrun or eclipse phase.
Problem I have with Eclipse Phase is the buckets of rules. Anybody know a rules-light sci-fi space/cyberpunk game?

Self explanatory really.

Doctor Who - The Doctor and whatever companion he's got with him are an obvious choice, but ancillary characters have a habit of dying, so I'm not sure it's the best choice.

Justice League - Between Superman and Batman, I'm pretty sure they can handle it.

But the only true choice is A TEAM UP OF JOHN CENA AND ROMAN REIGNS.

>fighter fighter mage, all lv 1
>party is braving an unexplored cave on the coast
>big enough to pull a ship in
>since PCs want to eventually get a ship of their own..a good possible base for them
>a large crab lives there. And some fish.
>neither are an immediate threat..
Fighters want to wait, and catch the crab on land, mage wants to swim out and fight it.
It was described this way.
>the cave is wide, the water is deep. A ship could easily anchor in here. The sides of the cave have a 25-40' walking edge around it, with a wide tunnel leading into the darkness at the back. Nothing seems to live here other than some fish and a big crab.
Thus..the PCs simply have to kill the crab that is posing exactly no threat to them.
My fault for calling it "big or large". It wasn't meant to be anything more than fluff.
The danger was in the tunnel leading deeper into the cave..a few kobolds.
I finally convince the fighters that the crab is no threat. Its just fluff..its the size of a dinner plate, not anything that will attack them. The mage goes full blown that guy.
>" well, if its not dangerous, I want it for its shell! And lunch! Hahaha"
>DM "its in the water, and you all haven't checked out the back of the cave."
>mage 'that can wait..I want that crab"
The fighters take off armor to swim 30 yards out, in deep water, to catch this crab for the mage..who has convinced them it will help in a spell.
Much splashing and yelling later, fighters are swimming in..and the kobolds enter.
Mage is standing near the tunnel, yelling at the fighters to go back out and get the crab..
Kobolds use slings...kill the mage.
Fighters swim towards the mage...kobolds end up killing them as well.
Tpk..because a mage wanted a fucking crab..and no one bothered to look around.
3kobolds vs 3 PCs...
