Recap:

In the previous thread you got an innocent man locked away despite the pleadings of his desperate girlfriend. You don’t feel bad about this at all and were rewarded with a buttload of money, though it’s dubious whether or not you’ll be asked to testify in future cases.

Lopez corners you in the men’s room just minutes after the case.

“I don’t appreciate conversation while I’m pissing, Inspector.”

“Forgive me,” he says with mock sincerity, “but you’re a hard guy to get a hold of.”

“Is that some kind of bathroom innuendo or are you coming on to me in the worst way possible?”

The Inspector sighs and pulls a bottle of pep pills from his pocket, washing them down with a handful of water from the sink. He swallows before continuing, holding the rim of the basin for support.

“It’s Russians, Vince. They’re after you and now they’re after me. We need to stop them.”

“Sure, but what’s this ‘we’ stuff?”

“Working together will increase our chances of survival. I have a lot of resources I can deploy and I’ll be honest here, I’m stupid enough to believe you’ll find a way to be useful.”

You zip up as you mull your options.

You think people confront you in bathrooms entirely too often.

>Fine, make a plan. In the meantime I’ve got a hell of a day ahead of me.
>Fine, but it’s gotta be an even partnership.
>Fine, but I make the decisions.
>No way. I’ll watch my ass and you watch yours. The last thing I need is my life getting more complicated than it already is.

>The Silver Skulls are one of five Space Marine Chapters in a group referred to as the Manus Irae. This group is ordered by the High Lords to "Spare none and set a bloody, fearful example to the realm of Mankind" by cleansing the Malagantine Sector. The reasons remain to this day unknown to anyone, not even the Inquisition, with the knowledge hidden in the vaults of Terra.

What the hell could happen that was so terrible, that not even the Inqusition gets to know about it?

Whenever I hear of events like this in 40k I feel like someone on some planet found out the truth about the Emperor being a rotting near-corpse and the High Lords purge that planet, all the planets around that planet, then all the planets in all the solar systems around that planet's solar system to make sure it doesn't get out.

Lenaia Rangers.
The rich and mighty of Lenaia, a thriving trade hub/hive, have had a lot of trouble with organized crime. so they literally bought the all female PDF off the planetary government.
However, the PDF was expensive, and thus they had to pool a lot of their money together. As such, every investor get a certain percent of the troops under their direct command. You can imagine what happened next. Civil war where the Lenaia Rangers were forced to fight one another just to prove which rich fuck was the richest.

After a certain time however, the Rangers refused to fight, they turned on their masters and slaughtered them all. The planetary government was now in their hands, but there was still a planet to pacify.
They pretty much do breaching buildings and urban warfare 24/7. Pic related is their parade uniform they wear in the planetary council.

Hailing from a planet where male populations stay just beneath stable levels means the women of Budika are the ones that answer the call to war, after the ceremony called "The red day" they enlist in the imperial army and are sent to the battlefield.

>Summary: Year is 1983, Lord Voldemort was "killed" by the Boy Who Lived one year ago. You are John Apise, only child of a rich pureblood family, you started Hogwarts last year. You love potions, herbology and magical beasts. You played as the Seeker last year in the Ravenclaw Quidditch team but you couldn't win the Quidditch cup. Your house though won the House Cup, which is not a small feat. You stopped the half vampire DADA professor at the end of the year and saved your friends lives. You are now in your second year.

>Second Year so far: You went to Bordeaux with your dad and met with the new DADA professor there then you attended a Quidditch friendly match with your friend Tim but the match was disrupted by the attack of Death Eater remnants and you duelled with one of them briefly before he escaped, you started the second year in the Hogwarts and managed to get in the Quidditch team again as the Seeker, you are a member of the book club, duelling club and your friend Valdis' astronomy club.

>Last episode: You attended the Book Club, Gryffindor lost to Slytherin in the Quidditch and Glenn read your fortune with a Turkish coffee and you decided to write a letter to the girl you met in Bordeaux.

It's almost the end of November. The weather is getting colder everyday. Today is cloudy and gray. Almost about to rain.

You get ready with your teammates, wearing your Ravenclaw team shirt and getting your broomstick ready. Team captain Anthony is giving some inspiring speech. He says it is very important for the Flitwick to beat the Hufflepuff.

When everyone is ready and it's time, you all leave the changing room, walk through the tunnel and enter the Quidditch pitch. Everyone takes their positions on their brooms and slowly start to levitate and fly.

The whistle is blown and the match starts. Ravenclaw vs. Hufflepuff.

Roll 1d10. I'll accept the second roll.

My only complaint is 'dandelion marketing,' their complete failure to create a cohesive community, forcing their fans to scatter to the four winds to find a place to talk about it. It seems effective, and now D&D is following in its footsteps on that aspect, but I feel like it fucks the fan base.

I've been inspired /tg/ and now I want to play in the stone age. But how do you keep it interesting without making it a pseudo sword and sorcery setting like conan.
65 posts and 16 images submitted.
>>
>>45051450
There's no wide variety of options in terms of weapons and magic, because as soon as there's too many possibilities, it isn't the stone age anymore. There's clubs, spears, stone axes, slings and bows and that's it.
Realistically, people would spend most of their time gathering food and surviving rather than adventuring. But I guess that can be an adventure in and of itself.
>>
Survival skill becomes incredibly important because there isn't large scale farming providing readily available storable food.

Steel is gone.

Iron is gone.

Weapons become disposable because none last forever. Hard use of stone age weapons results in broken weapons. Strength and endurance become even more important than skill and finesse. Your fire hardened spear isn't going to be bringing swift death to anything, so if the other guy is bigger than you the hits he gets in (and you can't really prevent this in a 1 on 1 with such poor weapons) are going to be hard to walk off.

Grappling becomes far more common, as does the use of sneaky git weapons like rocks and knives.

Obsidian is incredibly dangerous as a weapon, but incredibly fragile and unreliable against a resisting opponent. Striking bone will likely lessen the effectiveness of your weapon immediately.

There is likely no law, and probably every tribe has the potential to be violent against any other tribe, depending on current conditions and level of desperation.

When enough resources are easily at hand life is still pretty good though, and responsibility stress is significantly less of a thing.

People happily live by the motto "live slow, die whenever" and ambition is probably rare, and possibly seen as covetous and selfish.
>>
>>45051450
The stories of Conan are about a self deterministic man struggling against the rule of old evils, and savagery against civilization in which savagery would always win, as the author puts it.

You can do the opposite, a lone man is weak against nature, he needs the tribe and all the knowledge that his kind gathered throughout generations. They struggle against nature and only through inventiveness and practical learning, trial and error and etc is that he can hope to leave enough so his children may prosper even more.

It’s the dawn of the new millennium. The International Forum struggles to maintain a tenuous peace between the great powers of the world, but recently a territorial dispute has arisen over ownership of the Great Interior Desert. For centuries the desert was worthless; a lifeless expanse of sands that nobody wanted, but the discovery of new resource deposits has plunged the region into chaos. Countries bordering the desert have laid conflicting claims upon the land, citing historical ownership of the region. The Assembly of Nations is dead locked as each plan to parcel out the desert is vetoed by one special interest group or another. As governments bicker corporations swoop in, using private military contractors to stake their own claim. Through the corps, regional powers wage a proxy war against each other, supporting those who would sell the desert’s riches to them.

But all of that is far beyond your pay grade. As a newly minted mech pilot you came to the desert chasing the lucrative merc contracts being posted throughout the region. There are many private military companies already operating in the desert and with few credentials of your own you’ve signed on with a newly formed group looking to make a name for themselves in the bloody sand…

As the campaign progresses the players will accumulate a supply of resources which can be used to build up a persistent pool of mechs and equipment, but watch out! After leaving parliament to argue over details of the food trade you return home, only to be met by Isla at the door.

“Hi love” you say, leaning in to kiss her on the cheek “how's the forest doing?”

“The forest is fine” says Isla, kissing you back “but we have a problem.”

You sigh “what did Jal do now?”

“Nothing yet” says Isla with a laugh “but the day isn't over, no we have a diplomatic problem.”

XXX

“Are you sure this is a problem?” you say to Isla, after she's told you what's going on “I mean, good for them, they found each other.”

You are standing in a camp on the border of your realm, your army has been practising for various counter-invasion plans, even the possibility of invasion from Dornmer.

You and Isla enter the tent to see one of your succubi soldiers sat on a bench with a young man, well, perhaps 'boy' would be more appropriate, you'd guess anywhere from 16 to 18 years of age. He's wearing travelling clothes and has a small pack at his side. She has her arm around his waist and looks nervous. Standing around them are four other succubi soldiers, some looking amused, some looking angry.

They all stand to attention when you walk in, even the one on the bench, the young man just freezes, looking awestruck.

“At ease” you tell everyone, examining the pair of them.

“So” you say “I've been told quite a tale: firstly that some of my soldiers have been conducting patrols into Dornmer, despite being told not to. And secondly that on those patrols, or perhaps we should say 'parties', they've been getting friendly with the locals. And one has gotten friendly enough to awake a potential sorcerers powers. Quite frankly that would be enough, but then you bought him back with you. But it get's better: he told his family where he was going, and they ran to their lords castle claiming he has been entranced and kidnapped, did I get that right?”

The young boy is still slightly stunned by your presence, the four succubi soldiers are trying not to frown or laugh.

The main culprit swallows nervously and looks scared “My queen...” she says, and then trails off.

How are you going to handle this? (pick only 1)

Domina kept feeding off the wheel, stuffing herself like a fat, godly pig.
Heroicus withdrew himself from the affairs of gods to remake himself into a "destruction" god to spite Domina, the "creation" goddess.
Voluris, the new god of courage, helped out a bit and made a pretty lame spear.
All mortals were united under one common tongue.
Frakt sent Uröng like a mad dog after Zerji.
Zerji and Frakt finished making their respective planets, and Frakt started populating his with ice- and snow-related critters.
Trasa made some pretty neat sheep, and a friendship sweater that Uröng and Zerji were put in.
Veraiitus admitted to not scheming enough and hinted at knowledge of something delicious for Domina.
Regolith motherfucking blinded a few gods with his strobe-light shield of bad-assery.
Some kind of godly council or pantheon was proposed by Regolith, to avoid senseless god-on-god violence.
Regolith ascended a mortal into minor godhood as his wife and announced his wedding.
Urgös made some MOTHERFUCKING DRAGONS, SON!
Barastran, the godly Frankenstein's monster, cooked up a pretty nifty planet and made it into a waterworld. Then he made gateways between the planets of the cosmos, enabling non-beings to travel to and from planets. Unsurprisingly, the humans became the most predominant and successful world-crossing species.

Regolith built, in co-operation with Tutarr, Frakt, Zerji and Voluris, a palace of light on Daemonia, with a throne of sunlight, stone and snow. Then he got his wedding presents, which included A MOTHERFUCKING GOLD DRAGON, a neat vineyard around the palace, and the lame lightning spear covered in a woolly snake-sweater (because Frakt got confused about which grandson of Domina was the snake) that became a reusable mini-nuke scepter lint catcher.
And then it turned out Voluris was a goddess, not a god, and none of the gods had guessed so.

You're a Cave Hydra, big and mighty, and you're living through a whole new act. And it all started when you've met the group of four, adventurers as they call themselves.

Firstly, they asked you for proof of death of the one who could raise dead, after a bargain, you gave him back, they kept their part of the deal and leaded you back to the surface settlement to give you the promised food. You were a bit hesitant at first, being forced to walk tied up, but in the end, it was worth it, and you have learned a lot of new things about the surface world and the adventurers. The one who can talk to you, the orc, called Hulgrim, the elf is called Cleriori. The rest two are human and halfling, Edward and Hira respectively.

Right now you're resting after walking solid few hours behind the group, they were really hesitant and discussed a lot, probably about you following them, but somehow, through either determination to ignore you by some members of the group, or through talking it over, you actually sit down in front of a fire with them, although not siding with anyone just yet. And you have to admit that the humanoids are fancy with their skill to make fire appear at will, but now it's time to actually get a closer look at them.

The only reason you can tell them apart is because they're whole different species and because of their height, but if the worst comes, you won't be able to tell the difference between them in a haste, your problem is, you don't really care hard enough to learn all of them at once, so maybe for now, one will do.
