Unfortunately for you the AI is VERY crazy and corrupted making it impossible to tell what more is there, but you KNOW its there. Just not what exactly.

JAL was kind enough to tell what it could 'remember' and help with.

JAL is currently in the Reboot Phase and is coming online nicely. Good news is this gives you time to place him somewhere...safe. When he is fully online next turn his gestate ability will kick in giving him a HUGE bonus to whatever action you assign.

Awakened abilities next turn will be the following

HAX: There is nothing you can't hack tech or organic. Psi or magic it don't matter you can hack ANYTHING!
Assembled Bot Corruption: When activated nearby inorganic materials will be assembled together create corrupted machines.
Assembled Brood Corruption: When activated organic materials will be combined to create organic brood units.
Crazed Code: When activated all nearby tech will go haywire randomly becoming corrupted, turning into Madtek, or flat out exploding enough as we as more! During the temporary haywiring all tech is considered 'compromised' allowing JAL to operate with impunity.

You are Carrina Marseille O'Hara, a powerful Newtype serving as a Captain and mobile suit pilot in the recently-formed Colony Transit Fleet. After defeating a force of mobile suits designed and built by a terrorist organization, among which were three machines of a technological sophistication you haven't seen in years, you and your small team managed to stop an attempted act of nuclear terror targeted against the Martian Naval dockyards.

Now that you've also helped take the Finance Minister into custody for his role failed palace coup, you're left to wonder about all this. The only possible explanation for new, sophisticated mobile suits and an attempted nuclear strike is that there was a lot more money involved in this than you previously assumed. Your several ploys before and during the battle also demonstrated that the Chryse Independence group must have been deeply connected to the military and political establishments: they bought the lie that you had brought three ships instead of one and deployed their forces accordingly.

That leads you to assume that not only did someone in the Communications Bureau leak information about your falsified request for backup, but that someone within one of the four Martian units was responsible for leaking word of your intent to attack as well.

As Minister Hunter is lead away in cuffs, probably straight into a holding cell, Mineva takes a seat on the couch in her own office with a drawn-out sigh. You set your sidearm down on the desk and settle into her chair.

“It's not over, you know,” you observe quietly. “There's a lot of questions that need answering.”

“Not the least among which is how a nuclear warhead got on that satellite,” Mineva agrees, scratching lightly at her temple. “I always pinned Hunter as a rat, but never had evidence against him. Now I've got more evidence than I know what to do with.”

It certainly is a lot to take in. Even the Zeon remnants had to resort to manually detonating the reactors aboard the Birmingham, Sussex, and Gallipoli during Operation Stardust, their attempt to destroy as much of the old Earth Federation's fleet as possible prior to a coordinated assault. Despite being the remnants of a regular military they had no access to nuclear weapons, aside from a few token earth-movers they recovered in Africa and couldn't even transport into space, so how did these cave-dwelling terrorists get a hold of one and actually hide it aboard a commercial satellite launch?

And those three mobile suits capable of leaving afterimages... they weren't all that fast in reality, but the technology that went into them was extraordinary. You've kept on top of every major technical innovation in mobile suit design for the last decade, even field-testing some of them professionally, but you've never even heard of something like that. It very nearly blindsided you.

“We sometimes struggle to believe that even after the whole galaxy has been opened up to us, humanity is still willing to lower itself like this,” you admit. “The amount of sustained effort and cooperation that went into this is astounding for a goal this petty.”

“People really don't like my name,” Mineva shrugs, having long ago accepted the burden that comes from sharing a family name with the politicians responsible for starting a war that nearly ended the human race. “Given that the name recognition got me here it's honestly more surprising it took this long for there to be a coup.”

That's not quite fair, you think. Certainly Artesia and Haman have been both hated and lauded for their relation to Zeon Zum Deikun and Admiral Maharaja Karn respectively, but their actions have more than proven their own qualities and qualifications. Surely Mineva deserves the same chance, especially since she's practically their little sister? Does that association really count for less just because it's not reflected in her name?

“It's just a name,” you assure her. “It happens. Artesia and Haman had the same problem at first, but when people start to understand your values and you build more experience they'll acknowledge you as well.”

“So just hang in there, kid.”

Mineva nods thoughtfully. “Thanks for saying that.”

“Haman will be coming here aboard the Jutland in a few days,” you continue. “Mostly in a personal capacity, but feel free to ask her for advice too. She'd be more than willing to help.”

“Mostly I just want to know who was responsible for the leaked information,” she admits. “It's dangerous.”

You nod, producing a datalog from your belt pouch compiled by ALICE. “Here's what data we recorded. You'll find that one leak occurred in the Comm Bureau, and one likely aboard the lead ship of the Naval strike force based on the comm logs. It's not much, but it's a start.”

“Where do you plan to go from here?” the young Queen asks curiously.

You might not need it, you tell him with a shake of your head, you might be able to take a ship from Garuna. If they're still there, you know someone who might be able to lend a hand.

“Garuna?” the Mentor repeats, “Yes, that reminds me. A letter arrived for you, coming from the temple city. It should be at your quarters, for when we're finished here.”

Was there something else, you ask carefully, something he wanted to ask you?

“This Murmur, this god of Voile...” a look of faint concern touches the Mentor's features, “The knowledge he possesses...”

The sorcery, of course. You asked him to bury that knowledge as best he could, you explain, to keep it from spreading throughout the land. He was quite agreeable to those terms – after all, he had his own reasons to resent sorcerers and their ways.

“Then I will trust your word. It is, after all, your duty as a Wanderer to resolve the incident as you see fit,” the Mentor bows to you, “Was there anything else?”

>Our store switched to proxies before the proxy ban and two standard grinders hopped over to legacy and got first and second in their very first tournament with full proxy decks. Legacy players think they're special little snowflakes and tapping a turn 1 land wrong loses the match but they can't come down to modern or standard and perform with any kind of skill.
All the formats take skill and operate very differently, it's just eternal players need to feel special and justify their thousands of dollars spent to themselves. Playing the right deck and having a strong understanding of your lines of play matters more than the format.
Only bad players blame luck when we all know pros that are consistently successful at limited which is suppose to be the most luck intensive format.

Or in legacy they just ended up facing down Miracles and got a blind flip counter. As a miracles player, the butt-hurt resulting from the blind flip is what sustains us. But as a general rule, Correct. Legacy first, Limited second for me.

Generally I find ignorance of formats is what causes most of the hate towards those formats. Tons of stereotypes are true like elitism in legacy and spergs in public edh settings; but some of the hate for formats come from bad experiences like moderns recent Eldrazi Winter, or when someone faces down their first T1 kill deck. Personally I feel that proxied tournaments could save legacy as a local format for many shops. Many times the legacy decks Ill see in local tournaments will be budget decks and "FoW or Die" combo. Proxy decks tend to bring a wider variety of decks as the price barrier stops being such an issue.Pic related, I just like having people to play with

Space Marines are suppose to be this super weapon, if they are suppose to be of any consequence, being only 1 million in number in an Imperium that spans 1 million planets.

So that's why I don't really buy the whole bolter armament.

It doesn't make sense, bolter rounds are way too big and clunky.

These Marines, to be as effective as they are suppose to be for their small number, and to stay active for any meaningful amount of time in a battle, need to fire hundreds of thousands of rounds.

They really should be using an energy based rifle. Maybe the plasma rifle. Allows a space marine to fire hundreds of thousands of rounds before recharging, and maybe even file different types of charges based on need (explosive or penetrating plasma).

My friend is convinced that THACO is simpler than BAB, having skills adds no variety, and that feats are useless and unnecessary. He also thinks that having 10 types of saving throws that are modified by different stats depending on class is simpler. Help me convince him he's wrong.

Don't stat them out, just give them dicepools. 4k2 or 4k3 on attacks, damage is probably 5k2 for a katana, there, you're done. They stop fighting when they get a shitload of penalties from getting stabbed.

Warcraft Lore and RPG Discussion: Actual rules discussion edition

So I will be running, recording, and airing a Warcraft 5e game in late June. I have glanced through the books, but still have a lot of prep.

3 players, 2 guys familiar with my games, but not Warcraft. The third, well, she's never played a tabletop, but plays and loves wow.

So the two experienced players say they want pregenned characters. They still want to name, give backstory, etc. they just don't like the time to create (but, you know, my time for that is ok). I figured I'd find if player 3 played horde or alliance, and then have the group play the other side.

If alliance, the intro will be elwynn, killing goldtooth, and leading to defias and strengthening the weak stormwind. If horde, it will be a little farther ahead with the horde exending the olive branch to the blood elves trying to talk them into joining. Either way, I want to build up the enemy faction and smaller factions. I think it'll be fun either way.

Anywho, has anyone seen the below conversion before?

I fear I've been doing wound allocation to models in a unit out of line of sight.
If I had wounds left to allocate, but no one in LoS, I'd discard them.
Now I'm seeing the new FAQ for firing at models behind vehicles and it looks as if the wound pool can kill models out of LoS but they get a save of whatever's in the way.

I'm currently wrestling with the idea of getting a real job with my degree or pursuing music which makes me happy. I have no student debt to pay off and every job I've interviewed for in the last five months has sucked balls.
