Why do Physics/Astronomy majors have such a significantly higher average IQ of 135? How is this the case? What is so challenging about Physics that the average major has such a significantly higher IQ than literally all other majors?

Wow, I'm near the bottom. Really makes you think.
t. Psychology major

The iq test is a pervsion of the achievement tests developed by Alfred Binet.
It's known that if a person has already taken the iq test before you have to adjust the next test since, otherwise your iq goes up every time you take.
Even a sub Saharan African that s given multiple iq tests, different actual test but still testing iq, he will eventually test as a genius proving once psychology is the work of anti scientist within socialism and eugenics movements

Why is this not the world we live in?

Do you computer geeks intentionally make things hard for us normies so you would have jobs? Or are you so stupid that you can't run your code without a whole infrastructure of pre-downloaded/installed/configured programs?

I guess I should just do my own programming language to teach you nerds some discipline and economics

What you described exists. You can do that many ways.

I immediately think of a virus though, and GMail will try to remove suspicious executable code like that.

Haven't you heard of phishing?

>Why is this not the world we live in?

Because computers are not magic. By the way, the instructions you write are not the code that gets executed. So simply writing down code in text file and then changing the handle from .txt to .exe won't make it magically become an actual program.

>Scientists in the United States are mobilising to organise a March for Science. What originated online as a discussion about how to push back against the anti-science stance of Donald Trump’s administration rapidly gathered support from concerned scientists and non-scientists alike. A march on Washington similar to the Women’s March was proposed, and within 24 hours the group’s Twitter account had gained an additional 124,000 followers. Over half a million people have also joined a new Facebook page, which has become a hive of comments, suggestions and coordination. An event in the US capital is planned for March, with activities occurring in other countries.

>The leaders of March for Science stress that it is an inclusive movement – organising and participating in marches isn’t restricted to practising scientists. An online form that helps coordinate involvement has received thousands of contributions. What’s become clear is that this is an issue that both scientists and non-scientists are passionate about.

Even if you control for the growth of the psychology and psychiatry sciences and the new methods of detecting autism, the data shows that autism is om the rise. Is it plausible that autism is mankind's adaption to the advancement of technology, especially in computer science and robotics? Are we weeding those that are skilled in personal social interaction in favor of those that communicate with computers more comfortably?

Why are whites more genetically predisposed to obesity than blacks, who in turn are more genetically predisposed to obesity than Asians?

Which theories about it have you read?

It is an estimation using a number of SNPs know to confer genetic risk to obesity: http://theunsilencedscience.blogspot.com.es/2012/09/genes-dealt-made-asians-svelte.html
>>
I thought it was higher in blacks. Anyway, it is wayyy less important than culture, location, and money. I mean, just look at white people in Alabama vs California or something.

Why aren't you on an alternative sleep cycle, /sci/? I don't think there is any good reason not to. It's only rational, after all, to maximize the amount of time available to learn things instead of wasting away doing practically nothing by sleeping.

Usually my courses are something like
30% Midterms (15% each)
25% final
40% homework
5% Attendance or some fudge factor

Sometimes in classes like Real Analysis professor gives 4 questions on exams, no partial credit unless proof is at least 90-95% correct. If you miss one question you can no longer score higher than a 75% & they mark points off for not writing a 'for all' or 'there exist' (even when it is implicit) or some other trivial statement.

How is it that in the year 2017, with all of our knowledge and technology, so much irrefutable proof and evidence, as well as a FUCKING LIVE FEED streaming from the ISS for anyone to see, there are still people who believe the earth is flat? Are they retarded? Mentally-ill? Is it just ironic satire? Please help me understand, /sci/. Like, I know the average person is stupid, but this shit is bordering on negative IQ.

They want to reclaim the wonder and majesty of the world that scientific institutions and industrial society have robbed us of, even if it means denying the plain and obvious truth. Open your eyes. There are no mountains, merely the stumps of giant, ancient trees, cut down, destroyed, leaving us in a fallen, sickly earth.

There is this thing called "trolling..."
>>
>>8643024
Two basic types: the troll, and the literal Bible interpreter who believes the translation of that Book into English was perfect. A third type is the truly mentally deficient, but it is rare to find anyone stupid enough to actually believe while still being smart enough to think about it at all.

Is it true that high intelligence is a burden?
51 posts and 5 images submitted.
>>
no one could score 500 in an IQ test because no one would be able to elaborate such a test and check the correct answers without themselves having an extraordinarily high IQ.
>>
>>8650768
No, OP.

Only dumb people pretend to be "smart" and say that kind of shit.
If you were really smart, you would use your intelligence on good shit that you enjoy and you wouldn't be an arrogant nor an underestimating faget.

But wait, anybody can be smart if you actually use what you got, not complaining on what you don't have or lowering yourself low.
>>
>>8650768

I think people with high intelligence have a higher chance of getting a mental illness.
